Im not going to say that Pac isnt faster but I will say that no one on here can prove that. Ive said this a million times. You cant just watch Pac & Floyd and say that Pac is faster because its 2 totally different styles. I always tell people this. I use to tell people this about Zab & Floyd. Both Pac & Zab are just 2 pure speed guys. They let there hands go and just throw shots. Floyd is never going to swing that way so he will never ever look faster even though he might be. Its the same for JMM. Both Floyd & JMM use precise accurate punches. If you put 2 guys side by side and tell them to throw 20 punches and one guy just swings as fast as he can and the other guy throws perfect form precise shots then the 1st guy is going to look alot faster even though he might not be. It goes back to what Senior was talking about when he said that Pac throws amature punches. He mimicked what Pac was doing and he said anyone can do that. He said that a kid can do that but its not boxing. Im not saying that Senior is right in all of that but he's right in the fact that Pac is just letting his hands go so its going to look way faster then a guy like Floyd & Pac who are being more precised with it. If you tell both those guys to just throw as fast as they can over and over again like Pac does then they will look just as fast. Look at Floyd in the AT&T commercial. Even then he's throwing different type of punches. The OP talks about the Hatton fight but again thats nigh & day. It didnt have nothing to do with speed as much as it was style and the fact that Pac is a Southpaw. You cant overlook that stuff. You could easily tell that the Southpaw style mesmorized Hatton. You times that by 2 when you add on the speed but dont act like it was just the speed that threw Hatton off. He didnt know how to attack him with that style. He didnt have that problem with Floyd because Floyd uses a more basic style and will basically let you hit him alot but he will block them. You cant compare the 2, its not the same. The same with Zab vs Floyd. People got all crazy about Zab looking faster but he was a Southpaw who could freely let his hands go while Floyd was worried about being precised and accurate without getting caught. pac probley is a little faster but its not by a whole lot. also Floyds speed is based more on timing rather than pure speed

At 130 Floyd was faster. He was in and out. He was like a cobra. Look at Coralles and G. Hernandez fights. Since he moved up to 140 he doesn't use that style anymore for whatever reason. Floyd, despite what so many people say doesn't win with his speed. He wins with defense, stamina, timing, and ring smarts. I think the difference against Pacquiao would be his length and timing. I don't think Pac will be able to deal with that. I don't think Pac would be able to beat Cotto, Mosley, Mayweather, or most good welters. I also think he would struggle with a guy like Bradley or Holt, Guzman, or Campbell, although I think he could very well win. Theres nobody more explosive than Pac but a good boxer with solid speed will have a good chance.. He wins with his speed and if he slows down he will not be near as effective as he is now. Mayweather is different. He wins with just phenominal ring smarts and subtle skills I'm watching Pacquiao-Hatton and Mayweather-Hatton side by side, and it is clear to me that Pacqiao is much faster than Floyd. Mind you, Hatton was taught to slip punches only after the Mayweather fight by Floyd Sr. Yet Hatton was able to react a bit to Floyd's punches in that fight. This is why Floyd had to run from Hatton in that fight and lead him into punches. Manny had no such problem, and that's why he knocked him out so easily. There's always a reason for a fighter to move back.... that's the real reason why Pacquiao was able to dispose of Hatton so early, he didn't need to move back all the time because it was a complete mismatch in speed to begin with. To conclude, its pretty obvious that Pacquiao has more handspeed than Mayweather (not even talking about combinations), and either has more power or the speed creates it. Real talk.

What was really starting to be obvious to me was that up until rds 8 and 9, Floyd was strictly using the lead right and duck strategy that BHOP uses. If he attempts to use that type of strategy in against Pac, he will get rocked. He ducked to the left after each lead which left him open to a right uppercut every time. Hatton did not capitalize on this but JMM will and if he does, Floyd will get legitimately dropped for the first time in his career. floyd is faster on his feet than manny but manny hands may be faster. manny may see faster because he does alot of movin and bouncin around but if you watch floyd step in and out of punches you can tell that he is the faster fighter on his feet nah, pac has faster feet, that's why he can dart in and out at will. at 130 lbs floyd could dart in and out, but now floyd is more flatflooted, maybe due to his having to sit on his punches more or just older age, or he just uses his brains more than his feet.
