It would be an amazing fight to see. I think it's 50/50 though. People do underestimate Floyd, and also how he would adapt. That being said GGG is so big and Floyd is old. It's not a smart fight at all. I think at 147, 30yr old Floyd wins pretty handily against even a 160lb GGG running landing soft shots and moving. His reflexes were so much more crisp and swift. 37 year old Floyd's upper body doesn't have the same fluidity, Floyd would either barely win, or be in a literal life and death situation and get stopped badly.... I'd rather see GGG and Ward or even Lara if you're going to put him in with a terrific boxer.
It's cool and it's pretty easy cause most fights on showtime are mismatches anyway. So your streak should always be good unless somebody just gets caught with a big shot.
NO Kovalev and prime Roy Jones, I dont think its close. I love Kovalev's style, and dont wanna take anythng away from his victories but Roy Jones was just on another level, and he had great power too. plus the way he fights would be just perfect for a prime roy
LOL. I'd have to disagree. There's nothing soft about the NFL. Men upwards of 300lbs running 4.5-4.8 40 yard dashes, on a collision course with one another is a very dangerous proposition...Not to mention, if you can play the sport why not do it, you'll make way more money than boxing in most cases.
Lol Andre Ward should move down to 160? If anything he needs to move up and fight #Kovalboxer or Pascal...Nothing under 168 should even be thought about from a health standpoint alone...
I would pay to see this. I remember Freddy said Manny sparred him before, but Rigondeaux was pretty skilled and he didn't want Manny in with him at the time... Now that Manny's developed I'd like to see that.
Bryant Jennings started fighting at 24 and he's competing for a Heavyweight title. Rosado started at 18, and he's a top 20 ranked middleweight and makes hella dough....anything is possible. just get in shape
He beats Donaire and maybe knocks him down. Gamboa is too big and strong not to mention better, and Rigondeaux just outboxes him even though he's smaller.
I think Hopkins Holds, clinches, and headbutts, his way to victory.
Hopefully he beats Kovalev, then Stevenson, then retires. But if Stevenson is fighting (a nobody) in December, and then Pascal in April, I wouldnt want Bernard to fight him late next year, cause he's just getting older and older. and he's pushing it by even getting in with Kovalev. So essentially after he beats Kovalev then its back to fighting who? not Pascal 3, so the Murat's of the world again back on Showtime?....If does manage to win Kovalev, I hope he calls out Andre Ward.
This will be a very entertaining fight. Pascal wins though. I doubt Pascal would fight Stevenson for obvious reasons, but I think he beats Stevenson and Kovalev.
They are, Their style is for the Amatuer world. They are trained from children to win in the amatuer system not the pros. Yes they can beat people and get to high praises but they always seem to fall short cause they dont have the grit that comes with fighting like a pro, Why? because even when they turn pro they dont try to be more of a pro they cause they are good amatuers and can win without but then when they reach the top and everyone pretty even out skill wise now that where you need the intangibles that the cubans seem to lack.
Dont get me wrong their are exception but but as a general rule I stand behind what I said.
This is true too. I think Rigondeaux is the best current boxer America or abroad tho. I think this mainly only applies for some of the more modern fighters when you look at those old videos of people like Kid Chocolate... the real one, and even some of the fighters from the 80s they were going out slugging. And laying that jaw on the line.
But like you said there's exceptions everywhere so there's that too.
I agree. I think Manny may be in trouble with this fight. But I do hope Algieri wins but if I was a betting man I'd say Manny by UD or late TKO. It's just a lingering suspicion that Manny could get outboxed. And you bring up a great point about Bradley. But I don't think Chris is signed to top rank so if there was a robbery to occur I'm not sure which way it would swing.
No they are generally very very skillful and nowadays are finding it hard to either be on TV or get decisions for reasons of both style and the nature of the sport's odd and questionable often horrible judging. There's a good Cuban involved heavyweight fight coming up though with Mike Perez if you want to start following them.
Also lots of Cubans don't get off the island and even after winning Olympic gold they are stuck in Cuba doin odd jobs for bad pay and treatment.
Floyd's the only active boxer that's making a big deal about his safety. But he's fighting Marcos Maidana so its okay.
I think he talks about it the most. But probably for attention or diversion who knows what he's really thinking. It seems like a growing trend though as it pertains to brain health and future dementia with all athletes. People are getting smarter. Especially outside of boxing... Like the NFL's big concussion lawsuit going. Even my last year of college playing ball if you had even a slight head injury we got exam exemptions for up to a week.
Is this guy the biggest ducker in the history of the sport? How will his "legacy" play after he's calls it a day and walks out from the sport he nearly single handedly ruined?
Single handedly? Can you expound on this please?
Gotta know for future reference, when he fights KOvalev and gets kO'd in 6 rounds.... just flash this when people try to rag on him being weak chinned or what not
Kovalev would have gotten Fonfara out in 3 probably. I was very surprised by Adonis everything looked off tonight.
Quillin definitely beats Korobov and GGG would knock Korobov's head off. I'm surprised nobody here believes in Quillin at all. He's slightly above average and has very good power. GGG is just slightly above Quillin, skills wise, it seems, with either equal to slightly better power. Kinda hard to judge how hard they really hit. Rosado said Peter hit harder but GGG had more snap and is better. Then again who knows if he was even telling the truth.
None of my cousins in London know who he is either...Not him, Peyton Manning. or anybody like that...just Michael Jordan really lol...and rugby and soccer players...Lol. I think he was legit mad someone didn't know who he was though...he got that Kanye syndrome.
I thought about this last night. But Figeroa doesn't punch that hard at 135 and get hits alot...Broner throws very fast combinations and hits a little harder.
I think Broner wins just more skill and power. He'd have a hard time beating Broner. I'd rather seen it at 135 when Broner was knocking everyone out though, I think it'd be a KO back then.
