Froch should just retire. I've always thought he was awful but I don't see this guy beating anyone near the top. I thought the Kessler Froch fight was a terrible display of skill. I really like juan diaz but he should have never left lightweight. The fights vs pauli only hurt his career. I think he can be a top lightweight again. I think valero would beat him but it looks like he is planning on moving up in weight. I think funeka would also beat him and will probably be the one holding all the titles in the future. Juan is a great fighter to have back in the lightweight division though.
Not sure how this would happen later in 2010. Floyd will still demand a 14 day cut-off and if Pac accepts it will be an admission that they are the ones who killed the fight in March (which they clearly did).

I agree floyd mosley should do more ppv than pac clottey but pac's fight is going to be a pretty big event at cowboy's stadium and has the potential to have twice the fans at the actual fight of floyd mosley. Pac has also got a whole country supporting him and a much larger fan base than floyd who really doesn't have that big of a fan base. 50/50 is what it has to be or it won't happen and they will both be missing out on 40m plus. and floyd mosley has to happen.

I think Floyd is afraid of both Mosley and Pac. He did everything in his power to avoid guys like Mosley, Cotto and Margarito. It looked as if he was going to avoid Mosley again until the Haiti disaster which basically backed him into a corner and forced him to fight the only real opponent out there. Up until May 1st the only threat fighters Floyd has faced are Castillo at lightweight and Zab at WW (who had just lost to Baldomir). Many People thought Castillo one the first fight and Zab fought Floyd very tough for the first 6 rds and even dropped him.

i just watched the fight. juanma clearly won the first couple of rounds. after that i thought mtagwa had a couple he should have been given and then he dominated the last 3 of the fight. i hope he was weight drained but i still didn't like how he reacted to that style of fighting. he showed tons of heart but lost his composure. if he ends up beating the best at 126 you can rub it in my face but i think he is going have a tough time against the top in the division. and he's still a bitch for not fighting caballero.

Well, Shane tried to load up an awful lot once he stunned Floyd. He needed to keep pressing, but save a little bit of the power for the right moments.
It reminded me of Jermain Taylor's first fight with Kelly Pavlik. Taylor stunned Pavlik, and then simply tried to bomb him out of there in the 2nd round. As a result, he ran out of gas and allowed the other man to gain control.
Once Mayweather got his legs back and started dictating distance and punch output, Shane was lost. It was like Winky Wright all over again.
Mayweather didn't fight his way to victory; he avoided fighting and therefore avoided losing. He basically slowed the fight to a crawl making it a game of "free throws" where time stops and it becomes one punch at a time. Mayweather will win that fight against anybody.
If he meets with a good fighter who can consistently put pressure on him (a la Castillo, who DID win one of those two fights), he'll be forced to show us something different.
When he and Pacquiao meet, it will be a brutal, high-action affair. Pacquiao won't quit forcing the action (thus roughing Mayweather up), but will also be left open to beautiful counters by Mayweather. Hopefully they keep it up for 12 rounds.
I still can't rank either guy in my top 10 p4p all-time list until they fight each other. Hopefully in a trilogy or something. Then they can retire. :D
Good assessment. Mosley stopped fighting after rd 2 and did everything Floyd wanted him too. Standing still waiting for each other to throw the next punch is Floyd's game. I think the 3 guys in the sport who have the ability to beat Floyd are Pac, Pwill and Martinez. I think these would all be good fights with all 3 being in their primes. Hope Floyd fights one of these next instead of taken a norisk money fight.
