Antonio Margarito, a three-time former welterweight champion, wants to reclaim his WBO welterweight title. Margarito is scouting the current champion, Manny Pacquiao, at Cowboys Stadium in Texas. He wants the fight bad. Their promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank, has mentioned the fight as a possibility for the fall.
Margarito claims to be in fighting shape and ready to go at welterweight. A scheduled return fight is set for May 8 in Mexico against Carson Jones. He doesn't care abou the terms, Margarito will travel to Manila to fight Pacquiao.
“Since my last fight, I’ve been working out every day so I haven’t put on weight during my suspension,” Margarito told The STAR. “I want to fight Manny. I want my title back. I’ll fight him anywhere, even in Manila. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Filipino fans. I would love to visit someday.”
