Presscot for the last 2, 11th was clear cut, 12th was close. For me Prescott wins this by a couple of rounds. But I get the feeling he's not getting the decision.
Wonder if Prescott will win the fight, but not get the decision. He's putting rounds in the bag no doubt. Paul fights like he's got one punch power and can end it with a punch. He clearly does not so he needs to put punches together.
absolutely disgraceful what were the commentators watching in the 11th round???? Paul was getting tagged all over the place. They were saying he was the boss. Disgraceful!!
Vitali brutally knocks out Adamek! Is Adamek still alive?
I'm sorry if this offends you Adamek fans but that was a pointless exercise! One of the hardest punchers at HW, ATG chin, against a former LHW, powder puff puncher at HW, what did this prove?? your boy took a career ending beating. If it wasn't clear what was going to happen when you look at what Adamek was up against, you certainly understand now.
Brave? sorry but I call it stupid.
The fight I would like to see is Cornelius Bundrage vs saul Alverez. Im tired of watching two punching bags, thats why I thank god for pure boxers like Mayweather, otherwise boxing would be just like UFC. lETS OPT FOR MORE BOXING MATCHES. Brawlers against boxers make for beter fights. It becomes a battle of skill vs will. just think about how good the rodrigus fight on espn last weekend was. That was a brawler vs a boxer, already voted for fight of the year.
I think Gomez gets a beat down. I still remember what Cotto done to him with just his jab. Canelo is a beast. Legit puncher with really good power and Gomez has been a round a long time. A little too long and taken some beatings. Mismatch.
People tend to hate on MMA fighters due to their lack of skills, but strength and conditioning is one aspect where many MMA trainers and fighters have been drilled on and work hard on in the gym. Ariza's methods are not new, MMA conditioning coaches stress the need for explosive plyometric training to aid a fighter in combat. Since an MMA fight involves heavy use of legs, in terms of kicks, and sprawling, to avoid take downs, and the grappling aspect requires a super strong base in order to help push off for take downs. Punching requires the use of legs big time as well, so it is totally logical that boxers can benefit by having strong legs. I see a lot of them with chicken legs and massive upper bodies.
I mean when you get hit hard, you see the legs go wobbly and many a chicken dance follows.
itd still be a good fight! i like watch either guy fight.. at the weight its toss up imo. pacq still does the same.. it really depends on cotto i think.. does he learn from the first fight or does stewart try to make him into something hes not? id still say pacq wins regardless, maybe even better than the first time around.
I just can't help thinking the Cotto that boxed so well against Mosely would have matched up pretty well with pac. One thing Cotto has is a great jab and amazing timing. He was able to time pac quite well, he just got overwhelmed and fought the wrong fight. I think he lost something since the Margo fight, but the Cotto pre Margo was really finding his groove at 147. Events like his father passing away and the beating he took from Margo, the split with his uncle knocked him back.
I think he's found some form and stability now, and would really like to see him go after pac IF he comes through against Margo, I think he would deserve a rematch with Manny.
manny has cottos number at any weight, hes just a all round better fighter and boxer than cotto imo
I do remember Cotto having a few good rounds, the Jab worked well early on. But he resorted to brawling too much with pac and paid the price. His corner gave him no help either between rounds. Not saying that Cotto wins a rematch but I don't think he could do any worse. With the Steward influence, I think he would make more of a fight of it. Would still like to see this fight.
I think khan looked better against Judah than his previous fight, but Judah is a beat up 32 year old whos seen better days. Khan needs to fight better opposition. Floyd KO'S khan within 10 rds.many were saying Judah was still a live dawg in this fight and many even picked him to win by brutal uppercut KO. No one was saying he was shot. Yes it was said he lacks heart and fades in fights but shot? Really?
Good to see people giving degale credit for his win.
groves is going to have a lot of trouble stepping up. He has a style to beat some opponents but he'll need to find someone with slow footspeed or just unwilling to walk him down.
For me Degale definitely got it by a couple of rounds. I think his trash talk before the fight got him disliked to a point which counted against him. I don't remember Groves landing hardly anything. Was a strange decision but at the time, many felt Groves had won it. Not in my view. Degale showed signs of quality in that fight. Needs to work on a few things. He waited a little too long in the early rounds to get off, but when he did that in the later rounds, he looked very good.
Groves doesn't have a big name promoter, someone who can buy you ranking or get you title shots when you want, this would hurt him because he beats Degale and he isn't topping it with a shot at the Euro champ or a beltholder in his division.
Then he probably needs to get out of team Hayemaker. I mean no disrespect to Booth and Haye because fans are seriously getting turned off at their style of promotion. If they are having problems in getting opponents, then it will harm George's career.
Degale on the other hand gets the last laugh, if he manages to come through and win the euro strap, right after getting beat, he would rank higher than Groves and make steps closer to world level.
no need to defend haye here. there are dozens of fights at different categories, where fighters came in and delivered what they said they would.even if they couldn't quite, they did it anyway. it's called heart and will.
haye has no right to be crying for a rematch.he showed nothing that would convince me he really wanted to win. Wtf so stunning wlad in the 12th forcing him to hold and hitting him numerous times in the fight slipping 80% of wlads punches and taking some solid shots oh and going the distance does not convince you he deserves a rematch.
Wlad did not keep good to his word either. That's why I say let's go again!!
Anyone like to see Lennox come back and give it one last go, take all of Wlad's belts? When you think about it, it's just the inactivity which would be the stumbling block but I really feel Lewis even a 60-70% of his best form would be too much dawg for Wladimir. Remember there is no size advantage there either.
Anyone give Lennox a chance against Wlad?
Disgraceful fight by Haye. He refused to engage and when he got close to Wlad he dropped to the floor like a girl. What on earth was that?
This was the world championship title fight. He fought like he didn't even try to win. Horrendous workrate, just trying to survive and make Wlad look bad, just like Ibragimov. You can't win a fight by feinting without throwing anything!
Haye pissed on the sport, once again ... after doing so before with the Valuev and Harrison fights. Respect to Wladimir for another dominating affair vs. a top 10 man -- although this coward didn't come to fight but that's not Wlad's fault.
I agree that Haye did not execute a good offensive game but no way was he anything like Ibragimov who failed to land a single punch on Wlad. Haye marked Klits up, so figure. Look bottom line is, Wlad's physical attributes were always going to be a telling factor in the fight. Haye was never gonna out jab Wlad and it was always going to raiding tactics from Haye.
Did you guys actually expect Haye to stand in front of wlad and just throw hands??? He came, he tried to work to a plan, he fell short and he failed. But in no way did Wlad look great out there himself.
This is the first time I'm posting here you dimwit. So I have a new account does that automatically mean I used to be someone else?
Sorry but you don't know me. If that's how you welcome new members, then that says a lot about you.
I agree both fighters were pathetic, but then again Wlad is always pathetic. Haye disappointed me. It was clear he was having problems with Wlad, who wouldnt? but what was embarrassing was that instead of gritting his teeth, fighting through any pain and show any sort of heart he just decided to complain to the ref and feel sorry for himself because his toe was hurting.
Why you disappointed? Haye does what he awlways does too. Counter punch looking for the big shots!
