He needs to steep up. He's been fighting nobodies for far too long.
In DeGale's defense, he keeps asking to be stepped up. He fights on Channel 5 who aren't the best, although potentially give most exposure being terrestrial. /the only worry i have is because he has had it so easy recently, will he struggle when faced with quality opposition? Time will tell. Lots of potential though.
I agree with whats been said, he cares about Braehmer. He didn't look great in last fight and as the commentary team said, if they were Cleverley, they wouldn't be overly concerned by him. Cleverley needs to get his ass in gear with some of these fights. Hes lost all momentum to the point Bellew is ahead of him at Boxrec and hasnt had a competitive fight since Bellew. A fight against Yusef Mack in USA next to up his American Profile before a showdown with Cloud.
Cloud = Jeff Lacy.
Ouch, Warren has lost Brook, Bellew and Groves to Hearn and DeGale to Hennessey. How is BoxNation going to appeal to British fight fans when his two world champs are fighting on same night. I plan on cancelling my subscription straight after that fight because there is no chance either will fight until end of May/start of June. Who else is in his camp who will have a high profile fight? I dont see any promising prospect either... Groves will fight Abraham/Stieglitz winner, Bellew has the Chilemba fight and if he wins that, faces WBC champ and Brook has Alexander. By the end of Autumn, Hearn could have 4 world champs in Brook, Bellew, Groves and Froch and thats not talking about what Barker is doing.
Fact is Hearn is mates with his stable and they have trust in him, Ive heard Warren takes a large slice of his fighters pie and when they try and complain, he takes em to court. Actions dont lie, British fighters wants to be in Hearns stable atm.
I hope Eubank Jr and Eubank Sr are not tarred with the same brush over these comments. Jr I like a lot and after watching his press conference with BJS, thought he came across much better. Eubank Sr on the other hand should really reign it in a bit.
I knew this was gunna happen when I read about the postponement. Bet Burns manager is going through is contract with a fine toothcomb looking for a way out! If he jumps ship, Warren and BoxNation are done. On the other side, I wonder if Hearn signed Burns whether Sky would consider giving him more dates.
Never heard of Brand, but i hope he KO's DeGale. DeGale has developed a bad habit of lying on the ropes and absorbing punishment. Then he states he wants Froch. Did he not watch the Bute fight? Hmmm....
A silly fight. No one cares about Pianeta. Wlad has better options such as Solis (who for those who disagree is at least better than this bum), Pulev, Povetkin, Helenius, Fury, Adamek, even Wilder would be better than this joke. The situation with Povetkin is ridiculous. There needs to be more done to stop TV power. If it isnt organisations such as WBA agreeing stupid voluntary defenses, its promoters and TV contracts stopping the fights people actually want to see!
Did Froch give his IBF title up? i was under the impression itll be on the line against Kessler's WBA. Checked the IBF website and they would agree with my thinking...
Russell Jr is ok, but when he fights someone who walks through his boxing, thats when we'll see if he has the mettle. Juanma is a good fight for him, but only if he can hurt him. If you can hurt Juanma, you have a good chance, if not, he'll walk through you.
I can't say who's right here, but Groves would be a moron to price himself out.
If im not mistaken, the Froch fight was the last on his contract. Hearn has openly said he is not with him no more, although he would be open to resigning him, but that is up to Groves. Rumours have it that DiBella and Top Rank want him.
You shouldn't look at Froch's fights with Dirrell and Taylor for this. froch is a tad more cautious. He's learned he needs to be at world level or he'll get outboxed and possibly stopped. Ward is a rough fighter, but Ward's best chances are to box. Froch throw's in bunches when in close and if they land, they'll add up. I think it'll be a close win for Ward, but Froch has a real genuine chance.
To me, The key to beating Mayweather is pressure, throwing plenty of punches and beating him to the punch. De La Hoya is a good fight to watch. The closer you can get to him, the better chance youll have.
excuse after excuse for helenius. he'll be saying next he hurt his jaw after getting ko'd and broke his feet as to why he couldnt get back up. chisora exposed him as not the best thing since sliced bread. if he was, would have ko'd him like haye.
also these pics do helenius far too much justice cos it looks like he fought hard.
and also, please george groves, get some new ring shorts.
