No way they are any better, and saying that about Glen Johnson is just trying to downplay Groves better opponent. No it's saying the truth. Johnson showed up for a sparring session with Bute, then lost to some bum and then he fought Groves.

In terms of talent, Degales has masses. Problem is he cant work for 12rnds. Once he sorts his fittness out, or if he is ever able to. He will be a much better fighter.. Hand speed and combos he comes out with at times are insane.. Needs a bit more pop though, plant his feet now and again.

I think overall they are slightly better. Wilczewski, Zuniga and Davis are better than everyone on Groves' list except Johnson who was a pensioner that showed up for a cheque. This idea that Groves has progressed so much more than DeGale is nonsense. He just got gifted the better opportunity. I rate both Groves and DeGale higher than Frock, they're clearly much more talented. Chunky & Groves are better technical fighters than Froch, but boxing isn't always about technical ability. People have been claiming on here that Froch is rubbish, have done for years. Look what he's achieved though?

DeGale isn't smart enough to talk himself into a world title fight; he will need to earn it in the ring. It doesn't help that he's promoted by Mick...

He needs to steep up. He's been fighting nobodies for far too long. In DeGale's defense, he keeps asking to be stepped up. He fights on Channel 5 who aren't the best, although potentially give most exposure being terrestrial. /the only worry i have is because he has had it so easy recently, will he struggle when faced with quality opposition? Time will tell. Lots of potential though.

Next fight is Badou Jack in an eliminator. Purse bids on March 14th DeGale is a massive talent, i rate him higher than Groves.
