This is what you're doing though. You're bringing up the Golovkin Ouma fight which is not relevant today. I don't think GGG was even with Sanchez yet at that point.
yeah, Abel was. they got stuck at the airport for a long time and other issues. triple G wasn't 100% for that fight. he's been his trainer since before whenever that fight he had in Kazikhstan.
Lee got stopped by Chavez Jr. I don't see how putting him in there with GGG will help the cause any. It's just building more of a hype machine. That's what HBO does. It's a HBO and a top rank thing to put a chinny guy in the ring with a power puncher to "build" a fighter. I know GGG is with K2 but that's been the HBO and top rank way of doing things. It's a pattern. I like GGG but let him knock someone out who's never been knocked out before.
triple G has knocked down and stopped several that never had been before. here's something for your boxing knowledge.
"peeleft:
Arum is just as big a tool as Haymon. and Jr. is one of the biggest idiots in boxing history. he could've made many millions more for a much quicker beating at the hands of Triple G, without destroying his reputation that bad.
You know what would've happened to Walters if he had said something like this had he been in Lomachenko's shoes? the guy would've been crucified by the fans and the critics, but with Lomachenko it's alright, cuz it's all white.
or we could just crucify you for being stupid. :bottle:
situations aren't very comparable since Golovkin is mentally & physically prepared far above what Tyson was in Japan. plus I'm not sure Douglass beat the count, certainly wouldn't have a Jack Reiss one or British Stoppage.
Not sure who he is or how he knows this, but for whatever it's worth.
Steve Kim is claiming Geale ducked Golovkin. Flat out lie, they only offered 350k including fee to his promoter. This is getting sad.— 1shot:VIDEODROME BOX (@Withwhatsmine) February 5, 2014
Geale's official objection is the date, not money.
Will be interesting to see what GGG does when one of the following three scenarios unfolds:
1. Close fight between Cotto-Canelo warrants a rematch
2. Winner ignores him and returns to 154
3. Winner demands he fight them at 154-155 for a lopsided split, pillow gloves and a host of other advantages
he would take the WBC belt the Cotto/Canelo winner vacated and fight the Lee/Saunders winner for the WBO, becoming the unified champ.
