With Geale taking on Garth Wood (career record: 12-3-1) in April, is there really any other option for this fight?
Could be interesting action though, I'd like to see GGG contend with such a tenacious opponent. :boxing:

There are better options at 160 but it's not the worst guy at 154 that GGG has picked. Kirkland has some power so at the very least this should be entertaining. Let's not forget that JK is a b level slugger who was gettin out boxed by Molina and got stopped by Ishida of all people.
But it's better than much of GGGs run at mw.
I surely hope so. I also hope it's at 154.
I'm taking on all comer's that want to bet that if Kirk makes it out the 2nd round, he wins the fight
All in and you've got a bet with me.
What's the latest with Murray, he still have visa issues?
Murray is supposed to be in talks with Sturm.his visa issues only relate to the US.HBO would they want to screen a fight from the UK when times are 5 hours different ? It wouldn't be a prime time slot.
Murray is out of the question.its gotta be Lee or Geale next surely.
Stevens applied that pressure in the 4th round and stopped thereafter. When he applied it, he caught GGG several times and had him backing up, then the very next round Stevens went back to backing up.
Like I said earlier, Garcia sparred Kirkland and GGG and said Kirk was clearly the harder puncher
Yeah exactly he started putting together some shots and then Golovkin came back and started pushing Stevens back and took over the fight.
It's not like Stevens just decided to stop fighting
That's key here and what I'm most interested in. I know Kirk can crack and probably back GGG up. If not, he'll die trying and has the power to do some real damage in there.
People can say what they want about Kirk, but once that oil in the engine gets running and he gets in his groove, he's a mess for anybody.
I've never seen GGG put in any adverse position. For all I know when he gets it back as good as he gets, he can crumble. I'm really curious.
If he destroys Kirk, more power to him and I'll give credit. But he's not just gonna win this fantasy fight for me because he beat Stevens, Macklin and Rosado
In the Stevens fight he was took a bunch of huge shots and kept coming forward. Stevens is probably a bigger puncher than Kirkland too.
floyd can't fight lara, lara has a draw with vanes! floyd can't fight lara, lara got dropped twice by angulo! floyd vs khan, floyd vs ortiz, floyd vs guerrero......floyd only takes on the best.
What I'm saying is when Vanes fought Ouma, he had done absolutely nothing in the division, which is true.
Now what you're talking about happened several years after the fact (i.e. Vanes-Lara).
And yes, I had Lara-Vanes fairly close. What happened was all you guys that advocated Lara almost had to eat your words and you weren't expecting that hence saying Lara was clearly winning at the time of the stoppage, when he wasn't.
He was coming on strong and taking over the fight but Vanes won the early rounds in my book
Dude, Lara was clearly winning that fight. Absolutely no way it could be scored a draw.
Arguing aside, Kirkland is a beast and it will be interesting to see how GGG deals with such relentless aggression. In fact it Would be interesting to see how ANYONE deals with Kirkland. Lara, Mayweather, CaneLOL, Quillin, etc.
I think soon as Golovkin lands he's in big big trouble.

kirkland vs floyd? oh lord floyd would never take that fight. floyd fans are praying that kirkland never wins a belt or becomes a relevant 154 pounder again. they are tired of coming up with excuses as to why floyd can't fight people. but then when a guy like ortiz comes along.........WHAT A FIGHT! FLOYD IS TAKING A HUGE RISK HERE FOLKS!
Grow up bruh and please stop the unnecessary trolling
I'm actually trying to have a serious conversation with adults. My bad for trying with you
do you want floyd to fight lara or not. what excuses do you have to prevent the fight from happening? should he fight khan or lara?
Stevens throws, and his counter-punching skills make him a more dangerous puncher than Kirkland.
No Stevens didn't throw enough. When he did he was successful. But he shelled up for the other 85% of the fight. Good way to lose, which he did.

so vanes sucked when he fought ouma but a couple fights later he was great? the fight wasn't close. vanes won maybe 2 rounds. you must be a floyd fan. now you are pretending that lara isn't a threat so floyd wont fight him. this is so sad. guys like pac, lara, and golovking suck but guys like khan, ortiz and canelo are great? lmao!
This is what you're doing though. You're bringing up the Golovkin Ouma fight which is not relevant today. I don't think GGG was even with Sanchez yet at that point.
yeah, Abel was. they got stuck at the airport for a long time and other issues. triple G wasn't 100% for that fight. he's been his trainer since before whenever that fight he had in Kazikhstan.
At the time, many considered Vanes a joke and still do.
Me personally, Vanes really hasn't accomplished much. I thought he was competitive in the Lara fight, I think I might've had him up at the time of the stoppage, but other than that, I feel like Vanes who
so you think vanes was beating the best fighter at 154(ok your scorecard was terrible but thats another topic) and you don't think ouma beating vanes is meaningful?
Was he though? Ouma was coming off a very good performance over Vanes Martirosyan, who Ouma knocked down in the 9th. Most people thought Ouma was robbed. A shot fighter doesn't do that. Past prime Yes, shot No.
He fought Vanes a year and a half prior and I don't think he was robbed at all.
He then fought Joey Gilbert in his next fight and looked pretty damn terrible.
I was just thinking about this match up a few days back. I would definitely be interested in Kirkland vs Golovkin. Anne transforms James into a different kind of man when she's with him and he's like a freight train. I think Gennady would have to deal with adversity in this and have to address the question of what happens if the guy in front of me not only doesn't fall when I hit him, but answers back with serious firepower of his own?
