Probably Lemieux. Not saying that Lemieux is championship material yet, it's just that I've been consistently underwhelmed by the performances of Chavez Jr. and Duddy.
I do think it'll get interesting when Lemieux is forced to go the distance against a quality opponent. The Ayala KO, although impressive, was little more than a showcase for him. We will see how he deals with going rounds in the future.
I agree, but he went 10 rounds with Naugler(I know he's a bum) but still, he was maintaining a good pace through the whole fight and didn't gas out at the end of the fight. I think his conditionning is pretty good.
The only thing I'd like to see him improve is his defense and head movement. Although he hasn't been hit hardly, I think that he takes unnecessary punches during fight.
I have no idea how you can fight someone who is 0-6 on your 18th fight and someone who is 0-1 on your 20th fight.
Back to the topic, I don't know this guy, sorry.
He has excellent power in both hands, he is pretty fast and he is technically great. Also, he has an excellent trainer in Russ Anber. The major thing he should improve is his defense. He gets hit a little too much in my opinion. He is very exciting to watch, he always go for the knockout
I don't know if he'll be P4P top 10 in 3-4 years, only time will tell. He has a good test in his next fight against Walid Smichet who is a good journeyman, who always come to bring excitement and a good show.
Here in Quebec, David Lemieux is our best prospect!!
If it happens be ready for all the haters that will start discrediting this Ko win (Shane was too old, Shane was inactive for too long, Floyd was on xylocaine)
What is his body of work? Needing 16 rounds vs. Andrade, the guy that Kessler shutout. Let's not forget he should have been KO'd in the 12th round of their first fight. Zuniga? The guy Pavlik KO'd at MW? Joppy? The guy Trinidad KO'd 50 years ago?
I give him credit for the Bika win and the Andrade KO.
Froch's resume of Taylor, Dirrell(even though he should have lost that fight), and Pascal is light years ahead of Bute.
Ward's resume of Kessler and Miranda is also ahead of Bute.
I respect your opinion, but if you try to discredit Bute's win, I can do the same for Froch and Ward...
Froch won against a shot Taylor who had two rough fights against Hopkins, who had been knocked out against Pavlik and lost another 12 rounders against Pavlik. Let's not forget that one point in the fight Froch was almost knocked out and if Taylor would have survived, the judges had him winner.
Now, Ward fought Miranda who had been knocked out by Abraham and Pavlik at 165 and 160. And I remember Ward running away from the 10th to 12th round. He just ran away sometimes throwing jabs.
I think that Bute just fight Miranda for a tune-up fight before Pavlik or MAYBE Dawson.
Also, Andrade would give Froch a lot of trouble, and I've never seen Ward with a guy who gives A LOT of pressure. I don't think he has the power to trouble Andrade. Even if I see Ward winning a wide UD, I give Andrade a chance at beating him.
I've been seeing a lot of posts saying that Lucian is the best in the division so the tournament has no point. Who has Bute beat in that division that can make you say he's #1? Look at the super six, The best ones from the division are all fighting each other! Whoever comes out winning the tourney should be considered #1 so please stop with this Lucian is number one crap. He should get a shot at the winner of the tournament of course, But he's still not the reigning king at super middleweight.
BTW, Americans are going to own that division!:usa:
I agree, that the winner of the Super Six should be called the best super middleweight, but I do think also that once the tournament is over, Bute should fight the winner of this competition. Here's my thoughts on the competition right now.
Bute vs Green or Taylor = Bute by KO,TKO
Bute vs Froch= Bute by KO,TKO
Bute vs Dirrell= Bute by UD but could go either way
Bute vs Abraham= Bute by UD, Abraham doesn't apply enough pressure and he's not fast enough.
Bute vs Ward and Kessler (I'm confident and both fight, but I think that those two guys could be the biggest threat to my boy Bute)
Meanwhile, Bute will fight Pavlik if both guys can win their next bout.
HAHAHAHA VIVIAN Harris, you're talking about the B- fighter at best, even C+ fighter that was Vivian Harris. The same guy who got KO'ed by Carlos Maussa, Junior Witter and Lucas Martin Mathysse?? Get outta here, gatti would have whooped his ass.
Edit: I saw it was a joke, but seriously, someone a long time ago, made a serious thread about Floyd ducking Vivian Harris because he was P4P material and would beat Floyd easily lol
Every time Hopkins get hit by a rabbit punch, the moment the fight starts back, he makes it exciting. It's a shame there's only 15 seconds remaining every time that happens.
Hopkins 80-71
I dunno, maybe because for an unknown reason broadcasters likes him and the champion of his division know they can make an easy defense of their title and have the exposure of the likes of ''HBO,Showtime''... just my guess
Are we talking about Arreola who almost got knocked out in 2-3 rounds against a journeyman called Travis Walker.... and we are wondering if David Haye could beat this fatty? WOW, the forum really went down and that's why I keep less and less on NSB
Hopkins 70-53, wow at the commentators saying this fight is exciting. They said that in round 6-7 there were more action in those rounds than in the first fight... I can't think how dull was the first one lol
I would bet 1k of real money that Hopkins will win, but is it me or he looks a lil chubby? He was more ripped up in his fight against Pavlik, I understand he's now older but what do you think?
I don't think he would beat the Klitschko's, but I give him an excellent puncher's chance. BUT, he is by far the most exciting HW, the Klitschko's are nowhere as fun to watch than him, he comes to knock his opponent out, he doesn't come to jab his opponent all night long and wait for him to retir on his stool like the Klitschko's are doing
Fighters like RJJ are really rare... I don't see anybody who can be like him right now... Fighters like him, Sugar Ray Leonard, Muhammad Ali only comes once in a decade or every 15-20 years. The only person I might find a tiny ressemblance in those styles is Yurokis Gamboa...
Bute's left hook/uppercut to the body is one of the best body punch in the buisness.
Go at 6:05, sorry for the bad quality, it's the only video I found
