He is one of my all time favs, but maybe he can give back a lot more to boxing with his promotional company. Congrats to him for knocking up his hot ass Puerto Rican wife! I hope he doesn't come back and give us a Tito like distracted and unmotivated effort. If this is it, then godspeed to him.

Hey ya'll i just got off reading an article from another online boxing magazine (maxboxing) in which one of the writers (Fishcer) claims that he's heard through the grape vine that Erik Morales is a junkie. He claims that Morales does "coke" and that it's just the tip of the iceberg of the info that he "knows". What a bunch of bullshit...this guy is lucky he doesnt get his assed sued. Fucking A man...just someone trying to tarnish El Terribles image. This guy better give up sources or he better shut the F Up.

Don't Worry Puerto Rico...when Tito loses to D.C.'s finest you will have this guy as your new superhero!!! Bwwwaahahaahhahaha!

Vargas (at the time of the Tito fight) Age: 23 Record: 20-0 Notable Opposition faced before first loss: Ike Quartey, Raul Marquez, Winky Wright, Yory Boy Campas. First loss to: Felix Trinidad….In his prime, an overwhelming puncher and aggressor. Unique power. Vargas was dropped REAL early but got up and sucked it up. Even had the wherewithal to compose himself and make the fight competitive. Ultimately got KTFO. Cintron (at the time of the Margartio fight) Age: 25 Record: 24-0 Notable Opposition faced before first loss: Teddy Reid, Elio Ortiz. First loss to: Antonio Margarito….A fighter with more experience, but a notorious slow starter that could be countered if patient enough and tough enough. Cintron looked lost and gave up. He completely abandoned his plan to counter punch when he gasped at the sight of his own blood. He was knocked down and looked at his corner in a plea for help on 2 occasions. Ultimately turned his back on the REF and had his corner throw in the towel. I’ve been hearing that Cintron was too young to be put in with a seasoned vet like MArgarito. The comparison has been made that it was a “Vargas like scenario”. Well actually it wasn’t. Vargas was a phenom who had been swiftly climbing his way to the top by beating QUALITY opposition and winning convincingly…(except vs. Wright) When he fought Tito his handlers knew that Tito was one of the two brightest stars in the sport and they thought that Vargas’s heart and boxing ability would be able to beat a Tito that had come off a very unconvincing performance against DLH. This was a mega fight for many millions. It was a gamble that did not pay off. Yet after the fight Vargas was viewed as a brave young warrior that failed to conquer the kingdom. His stock rose in the eyes of many. At the end of the fight Tito proved he was king of the sport, but Vargas never stopped trying. Cintron was finally stepping up to try and face a veteran fighter that was also seeking glory. Cintron never fought anyone who had tested him and was virtually thrown to the wolves. He quit..(Yes it’s true...turning your back on the Ref and having your corner spare you constitutes quitting.) because he was overwhelmed by things he had never seen before. He has showen that he has a long way to go, and might never live up to the hype that was built around him. At this point, Cintron will have to swallow his pride and take short money to try and fight himself back into a contender. His poor showing has hurt his standing in the sport….Believe that!

A recent article by Ring Magazine got me thinking that DLH will once again become an undisputed world champ. Going down to a weight division that suits his natural frame and has top tier talent will give him a helluva chance. I dismiss those who say it will be to hard to go back down if he’s carrying 165 on a day to day basis, because he will work his ass off to regain his glory. With names like Zab Judah , Kosta Tzyu, Kermit Cintron, Antonio Margarito, and the return of his nemesis Shane Mosley it won’t be hard to find a mega fight. I like his chances over all these guys, (we’ll see about ‘ol Shane after the Estrada fight) because of his speed, movement and power. He is well rested and still a young 31. The rumor is it will be Zab in September…I see DLH having a tough scrap but in the end touching up Zab…..FYI Zab doesn’t have the Mosley granite chin (see one punch and done versus Tzyu). So for all you DLH haters, get ready to hate some more cuz he’s coming back. I doubt that he’ll ever rematch Tito, but If Tito loses to D.C.’s finest, he’ll be in big need of a money fight…..so he’ll have to look for DLH… To be continued……

I've seen that Edwin Valero has been sparring some rounds with "El Terrible" in effort to get ready for this Sat. Mega-Match up. I'm wondering what is going on with his career. Rumor has it that he is thinking about re starting his career in Mexico. What exactly is his condition and status? Just curious cuz he seems or seemed like a helluva prospect.

This has been a great rivalry over the years and it promises to continue with such fights as Cintron vs. Margarito looming. Puerto Rico is a very small island but has managed to create some Hall of Fame fighters. Such fighters include Tito Trinidad, Edwin Rosario, Wilfred Benitiz, Sixto Escobar, Hector Camacho, and Wilfredo Gomez. Mexico has given us both quantity and quality. JC Superstar, Lupe Pintor, Cuevas, Salvador Sanchez, Barrera, Morales, Jose Luis Castillo. and the list goes on. The question here is which of these two countries has produced the BEST fighters! IMO Mexico squeezes out an edge in terms of fighters. I’ve heard through the grape vine that Puerto Rico actually has an edge in terms of winners of championship fights amongst Puerto Ricans and Mexicans. I can’t see how that’s the case (Sanchez over Benitez, Chavez over Camacho and Rosario are ones that stand out) but maybe that is true. So who would you take…Chavez or Trinidad!

I can remember when my dad came home from his friends house shaking his head about the Chavez v Whitaker fight. I was young back then, and all he told me was that Chavez looked confused and was “fortunate” to get a draw. To this day I have avoided watching that fight because I didn’t want to see what happened. Now I’m far away from home (in Iraq) and finally I need to know what happened. Many say that Chavez got “outclassed”, while others say that Whitaker was “on his bike” the whole time. If Whitaker was running around and Chavez was the aggressor....doesn’t this have shades of DLH vs. Trinidad? Tell me if I’m wrong. Also, did Whitaker legitimately lose to Jose Luis Ramirez? Thanks for the history lesson.
