Clottey would find a way to piss his opportunity down the drain, like he always does. (Margarito, Cotto, Pacquiao....)
Dude is not an Elite Welterweight....at all.
Who has Joshua Clottey ever beaten to put him on par with "Sugar" Shane Mosley?
Anyone?
Anyone at all?
His best win is over a past prime Zab Judah.
He had a chance to become elite against Margarito ; he blew it.
He had a chance to become elite against Miguel Cotto ; he blew it.
He had a chance to become elite against Manny Pacquiao and he left his f*cking heart back home in Ghana.
He's mid level on his best day ; a slightly more talented and disciplined version of Andre Berto.
Stop comparing him to Mosley and Wright ; guys who's career records shit all over his.
He's not even better than Andre Berto. Berto has already accomplished more than Clottey lol
While I don't agree that Berto is better than Clottey ; you're certainly right about the accomplishments being in Andre's favor.
I just can't help but LOL at people who think Clottey is "elite".
Im a nut hugger because I think a boxer can drop another boxer.
:pat:
Put up those measly points.
I only got 360,000 ; you want that action, or is it too low for you?
Put points up or hush. You was banned or something?
No, I didn't get banned.
I took an 8 month long break, because I got tired of nuthuggers like you dominating the boxing discussion here.
Where's that 300K at, son?
Fuckin' welcher.
Ah well, it's my fault anyway ; I should've known better than to trust your down's syndrome having ass, anyway.
I can barely be bothered to watch movies in the theatres, let alone boxing.
I'd be too annoyed at casual fans who didn't follow the sport saying dumb shit like "get him! kick his ass!" and screaming at the screen all night.
I'm sure the quality and sound are tight, though. Hell, it's a theatre ; what do you expect?
Undercards almost always suck.
And it's always going to be that way until fans stop shelling out $60 for every major PPV, when the undercards are almost always shit.
You can't blame the promoters ; hell, they're making money hand over fist by just selling us the main event, why should they stop?
Unless we force them too by not paying $60 for a card with one good fight on it.
That said, this one should be a nice appetizer until we get served the main dish. There've been much worse undercards than this one.
Chillin man...u know NSB...same shit as always...at least we got a meaningful fight tomorrow...
True that.
Then we get to see Pacquiao fight Margarito, and Floyd pick on Berto.
At least, that's what I see happening, anyway.
NSB..... **shakes head**
Nice sig pic, BTW. :lol1:
larry merchant = pactard
bert sugar = dumb old man. also a hater who is not a "real" boxing fan like flomos.
emmanuel steward = uncle tom. might be a pactard.
anybody who critiques floyd in a negative manner = haters.
I wonder if jesus christ existed, came down from heaven & says something bad about floyd, i wonder what the flomos would say about the Christ Almighty?
"man that Lord God, i know he died for our sins & he created the world, but he's just jealous of floyd's undefeated record & high rated 24/7 shows."
:tragedy:
I understand what you're saying, and I agree, to some extent.
I've been around these boards a pretty long time, and I've certainly witness more than a fair share of retardation on behalf of Floyd's fanbase, but the same is true of pretty much any active fighter's fanbase.
The bulk of the retardation around here comes from overzealous Floyd fans, and overzealous Manny fans.
Why? The answer is very simple ; they have the biggest fanbases in the sport right now. It's only natural that with fanbases that large, you're going to have a demonstrative amount of retards.
And let's not pretend Pac's fans are angels, either.
The main problem is that most people around here have so fallen into the hype for this shit, that they're feeling the need to pick sides.
Forgetting the fact that we're all fans of boxing, before we're fans of any one fighter in particular.
P.S. ; Nobody likes to lose, especially guys in a sport as honest and disciplined as boxing.
It should come as no surprise when professional fighters make excuses before a fight just incase they lose, or if once defeated, they have a hard time accepting it for what it is.
We're all men, for Christ's sake.
But now all the Pacquiao fans and Mayweather haters are already writing threads trying to discredit the fight. Pacquiao didn't have the balls to fight Mosley and hid behind Freddy Roach. Freddy Roach himself said that Mosley personally went to the Wild Card Gym to ask to fight Pacquaio but Roach said No because Mosley was too big and strong for Pac. And he was the same person who said Mayweather would NEVER fight Mosley. And the same people that are making threads trying to discredit this fight were the ones saying Mayweather was ducking Mosley and wouldn't fight him because he's a "real" welterweight. Now you're trying to make Mosley look like he's old and washed up. NEWSFLASH haters... Mosley one fight ago DESTROYED the supposed Most Feared man and top welterweight Antonio Margarito. So stop hating because Mayweather vs Mosley is gonna be a better fight then Pacquiao vs Clottey. Mosley is the number 1 welterweight and Clottey was like the 5th best welterweight. Those are the FACTS.
It's not just Mayweather haters and/or Pac fans that are discrediting this fight, my brother.
Have you watched what the guys on ESPN had to say about this fight?
They ripped it pretty hard on "PTI" yesterday afternoon.
All over the fact that it's not the fight they wanted to see ; Pacquiao/Mayweather.
I don't understand how you can be so dismissive of a fight of tihs caliber, but a lot of sportswriters are, simply because it's not "the" fight they wanted.
Anybody who's followed boxing in the last decade + wants to see this fight.
Every professional athlete in the World has a group of haters, Floyd's no different.
Floyd's fans just need to accept the fact that not everbody in the World has a positive opinion of him, and get over it.
I don't consider myself a "fan" of either guy, but I respect and appreciate both of them.
They both generate a lot of intrest and revenue in our sport, and without them, we'd all suffer ; they get people talking.
Oscar picks everyone to beat Floyd, no surprise there.
My fuckin' mailman could fight Floyd and Oscar would tell the World he had a chance.
"This mailman is tough, amigo! He's quick, he's powerful, and he's got the stamina to go all 12 rounds, this is a real fight, amigo....I swear."
Do away with catchweights, put together better undercards, enable instant replay, 1 title per weight class, hold judges accountable for their scoring, and naked card girls.
The **** didn't you come on for Bhop-Jones Bizznizatch?
Just didn't have time, man.
Plus ; even though my boy 'Nard clearly won, the performance wasn't anything I could really brag or boast about. :lol1:
What would fighting a disgraced cheater do for Pac? If you think Floyd is able to pick on undefeated champions, you have a lot of respect for him
You know how Arum is, son ; he'd rather put 2 of his own guys up against each other so it makes more money for him. See ; Cotto/Clottey, Clottey/Margarito, Margarito/Cotto, Pacquiao/Clottey, etc...
Plus the negotiations for a Pac/Floyd fight will be the same, ending the same way ; no fight made.
And Berto is the only other dude out there for Floyd at 147, unless he wants to get Bradley to move up, or change weight.
