At first, I really didn't care if this fight went through or not because of the purse split, but because some are saying Pac doesn't have a chance against Hatton, I would definitely want the fight to happen and have Pac show everyone whats up. Not giving "anyone" a chance in anything is just plain stupid. Like Freddie Roach said in his interview for the Dela Hoya vs Pacquiao 24/7, "a world without upsets is a boring place." I just hope those who say Pac doesn't have a chance, doesn't come up with excuses later on about why Hatton lost.
Manny just beat the biggest name in the sport. He didn't just beat him, he thoroughly dominated the man. Oscar was at least two weight divisions bigger than Manny and Manny whooped his ass. Prior to beating Oscar, let's not forget that he ran through three of the biggest names in the sport; Hall of Fame locks, MAB, Erik Morales & JMM. He's come all the way up from featherweight in just a couple of years and done it in dominating fashion. He's a champion in four weight divisions and currently the WBC Lightweight Champion! Manny is the Man in boxing right now and the P4P king.
Hatton is just a highlight reel KO victim waiting to happen. He's tainted goods ever since the Mayweather KO. Lazcano had him stumbling, LAZCANO! He hasn't done anything impressive on the big stage since his loss. In the UK he's a draw. Anywhere else, he plays second fiddle to Manny Pacquiao. Manny deserves the lion's share and 60-40 is being generous to Ricky. Sorry dudes.
WoW! Finally someone with some balls to start a pro Manny Thread. Kudos to you sir!
He has absolutely NO justification to demand 60/40 with Hatton. He is out of his ****ing mind being that damn greedy. It should be 50/50 to be fair, but if anything, if it had to b e 60/40 then it should be Hatton getting the 60%, he is the one who brings the real money to the fight by a long shot. That little asian shit is in way over his head.
So if you say Pac has no justifiable right to demand a 60/40. What right does Hatton have in demanding 50/50? Just because he brings in the crowd? Hatton didnt bring in as much money to the table when he fought Malinaggi compared to his KO from Mayweather. Which means one thing, Hatton needs big name fighters to help bring in his own british supporters. Pac made more money facing Diaz than Hatton did fighting Mali who? Pac's fights in the US has been PPV fights after his first fight with Barrera. Hatton needs Pac, Pac doesn't need Hatton. I guess in your world, the fighter who stays in one weight division to become champion gets the 60%. And how can he be greedy when he accepted a 68/32 purse split in favor of DLH? Don't even post if you don't have any real examples to bring to this thread.
Money Manny is his name
Running from Prime fighters is his game...
Who did Pac run away from? Fight with Hatton is still under negotiations. Pac took the fight against DLH for a 68/32 split in favor of DLH. This was before realizing DLH was weight drained during the fight. Pac isn't running away from anyone. He's top dog right now, so 60/40 is only right.
What bothers me is the way arum is seems to be siding with the other side and seems to be trying to armtwist the main man of his team.
I totally agree. I thought Arum was Pac's promoter? Why the hell is he siding with Golden Boy? Isn't his job to bring in as much money to his client as possible? Arum sounds like he's selling out Pac. What's up with that?
Greedy? Is that the same guy who gave extra $200,000 on the guy he just beat? Cause he felt bad for the dude. I never heard someone doing that shit in boxing.
How are people justifying the fact that he's even greedy? Just because he's not accepting a 50/50 split? Pacquiao donates his well earned money to the impoverished people in the Philippines. I guess people who watched the Dela Hoya 24/7 easily forgot how Pacquiao donated a truck load of Turkey in LA for Thanksgiving. Either you watched it and forgot or you didnt watch it. So the last thing Pacquiao is... is greedy. Hatton doesn't even come near top 5 of best p4p. The reason I only hear is that he brings in most of his british fans. True, yet it also depends on who he fights. So he needs Pac to help bring in his own supporters. According to Marc Jonathan E. de Jesus of Philboxing.com, its simply out of respect. He says "Do you think Cavs owner Dan Gilbert would pay Lebron James (the best player in the NBA) the same exact salary as Yao Ming (the 6th best player in the NBA), just because he brings the China market with him?? " I don't think so! So please... if you have any better reason to why Pacquiao should accept the 50/50 aside from just wanting to see the fight and Hatton brings in his so called thousands of supporters, don't say anything because your'e disrespecting someone who's on top. Pacquiao paid his dues... its time for Boxing to pay him back. I personally don't care if this fight doesn't pull through because its about respect and pride. I would not want to see Pacquiao getting punked by suits off the ring as well as in the ring.
Also, do anyone have credible sources for Hatton's numbers? Please post
Bullshit, he beats a weight drained, shadow of his former self de lay hoya and all of a sudden he is top dog? LOL
Luckily for the boxing world, you're not in charge of rankings LOL
FIGHTS ARENT ****ING HAPPENING
What "Fights" are you talking about? Are you just simply referring to the Hatton vs. Pacquiao fight? Because that's just one fight still under negotiation and still has the opportunity to pull through. Pacquiao has not backed down from a fight. He took on Dela Hoya who asked for a 70/30 split in favor of DLH, but then later gave Pac the measely 2% so it became 68/32. So what are you even talking about? Don't even post if you don't know what you're talking about. Come up with some examples.
Honestly, this is the first fight I wanted to see after beating DLH. When I heard of a possible Hatton fight, I was a little skeptical on the excitement. I'd rather see who is the ultimate best P4P to end the who's better than who. If Pac wins, then he would have basically eliminated skepticism others have about him and PBF and automatically scratches off HATTON. If that happens, lets see if Hatton can pull a 50/50 or even a 60/40 under his hat. LOL
Hatton's a great fighter, but I'm definitely rooting for Pacquiao. If Pacquiao loses, then hey he just lost to a great fighter. But of course since I am a big fan of him, I'm definitely putting it all on Pacquiao.
ever since pacquiao "beat" dlh, you morons now pay attention to the mayweather family... fuking delusional retards, mayweather would box pacquiao's ears off, keep fantasizing
Thats what people said about Dela Hoya beating Pacquiao and look what happened. Pacquiao will be mayweather's worst nightmare because his 0 is gonna go.
Thats the beauty of Pacquiao. He represents the filipino people. You can be at the bottom at one point, but rise up through hard work and determination. He's not a perfect boxer, but showed everyone that he doesn't need a perfect record to be P4P.
hahahaha!!! pussy Manny fighting Aaron Pryor????? ahahahahaha
manny beating Aaron Pryor??????? hahahahahaha
if manny got his ass kicked once by a weight drained past prime morales..
and when manny used to gloves as an excuse and he STILL was losing to AN EVEN WORSE shape morales until erik gassed out since the 6th rd in their rematch..
Also the fact that manny in ALOT of people's eyes lost against marquez..and then EVEN MORE people thought he lost against a 34yr old marquez..How in the blue hell is pussy manny gonna take on Aaron F*cken Pryor???? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! LOL!!! LOL!!!!!
Anybody with ANY SENSE knows that Morales would destroy manny at 126
and would most likely probably kill pussy manny at 122..and all of a sudden people think that manny would even stand a chance against a Prime Aaron Pryor???????HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!
Now i dunno much about Aaron Pryor and the fact is i dont NEED to know
I have no problem sayin that just based on internet vids manny WOULDNT STAND A DAMN CHANCE IN HELL against pryor...NOT a single chance!!!!
Manny's earlier promoter at the time signed him up for a fight with Morales under the terms that he MUST wear the pillow gloves. Some say the gloves doesn't make any difference, but apparently Manny's gloves played a factor in his 2nd fight showing everyone that he knocked out a guy who's never been knocked out. Not once but twice. Marquez got knocked down so many times in the earlier rounds of his first fight with Pacquiao and one judge didn't deduct an extra point from Marquez for the extra knock down. Got knocked down again in his second fight. If you want Marquez to win... tell him not to get knocked down next time lol. All this so and so "would" destroy Manny at such and such weight is retarded. If that's what you claim then hey it probably would or it probably wouldnt, but the fact is it didn't happen. What happened happened. So stop day dreaming man. Don't hate... appreciate.
Pacquiao does not have better movement, whether you're referring to footwork / ring generalship, or upper body movement.
Pacquiao is fast, but are you forgetting how fast Mayweather is as well? Neither of them would have a notable advantage in this department.
Pacquiao was a devastating puncher at 126, 130, not at the deep waters of these weight classes. Floyd although not exactly heavy fisted, has deceptive power due to his pinpoint accuracy, timing and technique. Floyd does have the power to put Pacquiao in serious trouble if caught by the right punch. In the power department I would give a slight edge to Mayweather.
Pacquiao does throw more punches, but it's an ostensible advantage. With scrutiny I hope you'd begin to question if this was indeed an "advantage". Especially against a sharp, accurate counter-punching genius in Floyd Mayweather. One might see it as an opportunity for Floyd to score more points; remember Manny does leave himself open.
Defensively, as even you admitted, it's not even a contest. Floyd has a prodigious advantage, and in my opinion, is what separates Floyd being a good fighter from Floyd being a great fighter.
Floyd is an accurate counter puncher, but due to the volume of Pacquiao's punches I would think Floyd would have a hard time countering 3-5 punches coming at him. And YES Pacquiao "DOES" have better movement than Floyd because in his fight with Dela Hoya, he had a lot of head movement and foot work. Pacquiao would come in with power shots and turn Dela Hoya. Inspite of Dela Hoya's height advantage, Pacquiao was nowhere in sight because of Pacquiao's continuous movement. Pacquiao is the kind of fighter who forces his opponents to fight. Floyd stays in the ropes and waits for you to make a mistake then counter punches you. I strongly believe that Floyd will not have the opportunity to wait around for a strong counter punch. Pacquiao will definitely force him to fight and trade with him.
pac has a great legacy but that doesn't mean he can't make it better.
whooping hatton will give him his 3rd lineal title and 6th belt.
look at it this way......for me , pac wins this one , no doubt about it.
after beating hatton for 50-50 , it'll make the pbf fight even bigger and give him even more leverage in negotiations with pbf.
hatton will lose this fight......let him have his 50-50. :) just as long as the fight happens!
I think if Pac were to fight Hatton and win, I think it would give him "some" leverage. I don't think things will work in his favor in all entirety because PBF will say "So what if you beat Oscar and Hatton? I did too!" or "You are best P4P, its because I retired and let YOU." So if anything I think Pac would get the smaller piece of the straw once again. But of course if he doesn't fight Hatton, he would get an even smaller piece if he goes straight for PBF. Thats my opinion on it.
hatton deserves the bigger purse..their fighting for his belts..give the champ his respect
Respect? OH please... if he wants respect and get a bigger purse, then he should go find a fighter with less credit to bring to the bargaining table, so he'd get his 50/50 split or maybe even 70/30 split lol.
Not really. I never remember Pacman really bringing allot of people to fights before the Delahoya match. Can you give an example that I'm missing?
Hatton could probably bring more Brits than Pacman could Americans.
Hatton only brings brits. Pac brings FILIPINOS from ALL OVER the world. Especially the Middle EAST! Huge Political figures from the PHilippines visit pacquiao. Huge Hollywood names like Mark Wahlberg, Usher, and others come to visit Pacquiao. The Boston Celtics visits pacquiao. 60/40 for pacquiao!
:boxing:pacquiao earned his reputation as the number 1 p4p boxer and the "Most Exciting" figther of our era. Dont u think he deserves more than that 50-50 deal?....lets break it down....what is the purpose of this p4p list?....Who got the award for the "best boxer of year 08"?...who made boxing as famous again during its failure to capture more fans after MMA got is so big?....Who is "Ricky Hatton" after he was beaten by Mayweather? .....How big is "Pacquiao" compare to "Ricky Hatton" now?....Who performed "better and excite boxing fans" in year 08, "Pacquiao or Hatton?...Does ppl wanna see Hatton vs Mayweather next or Pacquiao vs Mayweather?
I THINK PACQUIAO DESERVES SOME ADVANTAGES IN THE REVENUES! WHOEVER PACQUIAO FIGHTS PPL WILL WATCH BIG TIME! SPECIALLY AFTER HIS WINNING STREAK AND BIG WIN AGAINST WILL KNOWN BOXERS IN SPORTS LIKE "BARRERA,MARQUEZ,MORALES AND DELAHOYA" and hatton? did he fought those calibers of boxers? did he fought proven Warriors like pacquiao did and defeated them?
"I SAY PACQUIAO 55% and HATTON 45%" pls. share ur opinion about this:boxing:
I totally agree. Pacquiao's the new Pay Per View King coming off a win over the former Pay Per View King, Dela Hoya. I think most of the people here are not looking into the fact that Pacquiao also brings in a lot of Filipinos from the Philippines to watch him. He sells a lot of pay per view not only in the US or Philippines, but other countries like the Middle East and Japan. If the fight doesn't happen then its no big deal to Pacquiao becauce people watch him regardless.
"Hatton isn't even as good as Gatti."- says Floyd Sr.
Nice VId verdugo. So it came out of his own trainer's mouth. Hatton is a C class fighter no better than Gatti lol. Nice
Uh, Uh, Uh! :bs2:
Oscar could not sell out a stadium in LA against Steve Forbes while Hatton sold out a soccer stadium of 55k fans in Manchester against an even more unknown Lazcano after having lost to mayweather by KO 6 months prior.
Do you have anything further to say on the matter?
Because it was in MANCHESTER! It was back home in the UK!
I honestly don't see Hatton beating Pacquiao. As good of a boxer Hatton is, Manny Pacquiao has just improved so much. Some say Hatton has the power to knockout Manny. Maybe he does, but the point is.. you can't knockout a person who's not even in front of you. Meaning Manny will bob and weave and turn Hatton like he did Dela Hoya. I think Pacquiao will be the bigger fighter in the fight. His speed, power, and illusiveness will leave Hatton punching nothing but air and leave him open for Pacquiao to knock him out.
