De La Hoya: Shot, past-prime fighter fighting at a weight he hadn't made in 7 years. Drained and totally a shadow of his former self vs Pacquiao. He wasn't physically capable of making any adjustments to even win a single round in their fight.
Ricky Hatton: Stupid decision to change trainers so late on in his career and then attempt to incorporate certain Mayweather nuances in his game. Never attempted to change his style, came in head first and got his ass dropped.
Miguel Cotto: Overrated fighter and was never really that good. Folds under pressure and lacks the ability to make any adjustments in his game - won a close decision to Clottey, and it wasn't because he made a late rally to snatch the win, it was just that Clottey is a choke artist who throws away fights.
Joshua Clottey: Average fighter who always finds a way to lose. Made no attempt to make an impact in the fight with Pacquiao and was just another hypejob fight with Cowboys Stadium playing the main protagonist in this HBO fraud special.
Antonio Margarito: Cheat. Fraud. Should never have been given the opportunity to fight again. Got his ass handed to him by Mosley in a much more brutal fashion then Pac ever did. His one + year lay-off and fight with Garcia proved he was past-prime. Besides a single fluke bodyshot, he showed nothing in the fight to suggest he deserved to be there.
Pacquiao is a fraud who continues to duck the best fighter of his era. HBO FRAUD.
a Christian at heart, Pacquiao is the best but most humane fighter. Never a cheater. Never! pure sportsman. pure gentleman. Great but humble. Owes everything to God and excellent training. Wants to entertain. Fights not just for himself but for his audience. Willing to get hurt to please fans. Quickest, most active power puncher. No drugs. No bulk (unlike your American dopers - Bonds? Mcguire? Clemens? A-rod?). Pacquiao, pure speed and muscle. God -given physique -- long arms, large fist, powerful legs.
oh yeah? just get it on already. Stop the yapping and sign the papers....hmmm can it be that mayweather is waiting for pacquiao to show signs of aging before he does? what does that make of your arguments bro.
I see a lot of people Going wild over this win. Remember who David Diaz is. Lucky against Santa Cruz and Lucky against Morales. Anyways... Now with Mayweather being retired he takes the thrown as P4P number 1. He imo is the best p4p 1 fighter in the world but think about it. It is weird.
Beats Barrera great win. Beats a shot Barrera, loses to what was left of a prime morales, Beats the shot morales two more times. Then has two arguable losses to Marquez. I think Pacman won the 1st fight only due to knockdowns but not the 2nd. Anyways i think he still has a lot to do for me like fight a legit fighter whos in his prime.
I have watched the 2nd Pacquiao-Marquez fight over and over in my DVR and I cannot really see Marquez winning the fight. He might have connected with more punches but this is not AMATEUR BOXING. A professional boxer wins with the MORE TELLING and significant power punches. So shut up if you are not a professional boxing judge. PACQUIAO is the best as shown by tonight's performance. Even Marquez would have gone down tonight if he fought Manny who was in the best condition of his career tonight!
alibis excuses...no way...manny had a plan and he followed it to the letter. If you look at erik's torso, he doesnt have any meat on his bone. Freddie Roach clearly knew it and devised a plan in the middle rounds...chop chop chop to the body, and the head will fall! Congratulations Manny! YOu did us all proud. And clearly Manny could bear Erik's punches even in the first fight. He never went down he was just affected by his cuts...but Morales had always been afraid of Pacquiao's power
end of round 9..a knockdown too!
Here's the clip from round 2, which really could have been called a knock down:

Without grabbing the rope, Eric would have gone down.
great analysis! He also almost went down in round 9. Can you post the end of round 9? morales was also about to go down except that the referee caught him just at the end of round
e=mc2 is blind/deaf etc
So can JMM, don't you think?
Pacquiao is da man RIGHT NOW and for the next 3 years! JMM couldnt even get a high enough paycheck to fight pacquiao and he used that to avoid a date with manny in the first fight. And currently, promoters will not pay him anymore money than what they gave him in the first. He may have "outboxed" pacquiao later on but he clearly lost the fight on points. Manny & Freddie Roach will make the adjustments to make this a future no-brainer win for Manny. So i dont see this fight happening in the near future. As for Barreira? I cannot see any change in the result from the first fight!!! How can he make any adjustment as he was TOTALLY OUTCLASSED in the first. There is such a thing as CONTRA-FELLOW (as we say) -- meaning Barrera's style and skills are just so compatible and therefore easy pickings for Manny. In other words, MANNY HAS GOT BARRERA'S NUMBER RIGHT NOW and forever and nothing can change that in the next 3 years (except an injury).
EMC=2 quit talking about that fluke draw! What matters NOW is "WHO'S DA MAN!" and MANNY is the MAN!
E=MC2 contradicts himself
Pacman is the best overall, though I think there is a sound chance that he can loose the remath with JMM. He was thoroughly outclassed by JMM in terms of boxing skills the first time. I do not think it would be very different the second time.
It is indeed funny how you contradict yourself. Maybe you were also one of the people who said the same thing about MORALES-PACQUIAO 2, that it would be no different from the first. Dont you get it? Pacquiao makes adjustments to his game plan - or maybe you were blind to last night's fight. JMM doesnt deserve a rematch because he doesnt pull in the interest of fight fans. But he can go ahead and ride the coattails of Pacquiao anytime. But on Pacquiao's terms, capice?
Those Who Felt The Power Of Pac Have Been Traumatized
That is the reason why Barrera did not schedule a rematch immediately with Manny. He needed 2-3 more fights to get his ocnfidence back. And aren't we still waiting for him to express interest in a rematch? Cmon barrera, you've had enough time to recover. AS for JMM? He is still having nightmares about Pacman's hammer-like punches in the first round. As for Erik, let him retire with dignity after a future win, probably a fight with a superflyweight so that his EMBARRASSING DEFEAT will be erased in the minds of his fans. I respect you Morales but you were lucky in the first fight wherein Manny's cuts and gloves prevented him from beating you up.
