the only thing that upset about the fight is the way this fight was being hyped to be a gatti/ward type fight i mean it was a great fight but just as it was getting even better the ref stopped it, i felt it coulda gone a couple more rounds who knows what the outcome coulda of been? rios coulda went on to ko alvarado instead of that pre-mature stoppage or mike coulda won

Yea agree with everything you said, to me he’s the last fighter that was truly old school, he didn’t duck anyone, fought all the time fought the best fighters h could. The two Griffin fights I thought he won though Tiberi he did really lose to and looked horrible and out of shape in that fight, and looked in worse against Thadzi. He was definitely drained for that fight. But prime your right he would give almost anyone at middle to light heavy a problem. Roy I would always favor against him though only because of Toney always being calm and patient would hurt him against Roy

Edwin Valero. He just started fighting on American tv and had people buzzing. Could've been a top 3 p4p I think. Think of the match ups he could've had. Linares, Bradley, Alexander, maidana, matthysse, Pac, khan, Garcia, guerrero, Marquez and Floyd. Imo he's beats them all easy but Pac, Marquez and Floyd. And I think he would beat Pac and Marquez just not easy.
one match up in particular that id pay $ for is valero/matthysse
i doubt this fight will ever happen...martinez just wants big money fights now and he's not going to risk fighting a guy like golovkin who is a high risk low reward type of opponent. it's easy for martinez to take apart a huge hype job like chavez jr, but against golovkin he will have a really tough time...golovkin is much more hungrier and focused, has a really good chin, good heart, great power, nice boxing skills, and overall is just a beast...i wish this fight would happen but i'd expect martinez to duck him, get a couple of big money fights and then retire.
