"Broner's contract with Golden Boy and adviser Al Haymon reportedly expires in April. Rap star turned boxing promoter Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson has reportedly made an offer to Broner to join his company, SMS Promotions, when his Golden Boy deal is done."

whats ur take on this? does broner switch promoters to keep his persona "mr hbo" or do we see him go to sho-time...
50 Cent is going to have to pump a hell of a lot more cash into his promotion if he wants to ever compete with GBP and Top Rank. Personally i think he should start in Europe cleaning out the smaller promoters.
its funny because broner twiitted the other day that he could beat anyone from 135 to 147 he named all of top tank fighters (rios, manny, juan, gamboa) but no golden boy fighter (beside paul m). Just thought that was fishy because he knew top rank and golden boy feud would prevent him from fighting them, but if he join 50 cent,(40 million offer) that would make sense why he mention them.
There is risk 2 fold for Broner if he leaves GBP...
1. Getting GOOD fights - People saying being on an indie/neutral promo company should get him fights with both promoters. Maybe, but how has that worked for Don King's current fighters and the fighters 50 Cent currently has?
2. Getting access to the major networks - With HBO/Showtime forming alliances with the top 2 promoters, would SMS be able to get him access to these big networks? If Showtime refuses to take Broner as SMS fighter due to alliance with GBP, he has little leverage with HBO in terms of his pay.
All of this lends to fighters signing shorter contracts with promotional companies.
Tough call for Broner...but Showtime MUST be willing to out pay HBO so maybe Showtime makes abandoning his "Mr HBO" name worth while. Because of the grimey ish going on in the business, I would just be very paranoid about putting my career in the hands of 50 Cent who is unproven and could up and exit the business the moment he decides he's tired of it and realizes he's still rich.
Where Floyd goes, Broner goes. 50 Cent is still figuring out the boxing promo game and doesn't offer Broner's rising star much at all. I don't see 50 being relevant at all in a few years if he even lasts a few years.
yes! go for it adrien. that way floyd will get jealous and more controversy perhaps conflict between him and adrien. go for it AB!
broner-gamboa broner-rios broner-bradley... broner vs jmm broner vs pac... (can those fights be made if he switched promoters)? can 50 make those fights with bob,, or what if he signed with bob?
