I've always liked the double left jab, then a straight right hand that's followed by a left hook. You don't see it very often in today's boxers, but fast handed fighters like Muhammad Ali, Oscar De la Hoya, Roy Jones Jr., and Money Mayweather kept this combo in their repertoire. That hook always catches them as they're straightening up, if they happen to slip the right hand...BOOM!
This one, exactly. 2 left jab, straight right followed by a left hook.
The current welterweight crop is extremely weak
You are trying to compare one of the better welterweight eras with one of the weakest. Isn’t really a fair comparison
Exactly what this guy said
Marquez was a better boxer. Great offensive skills, amazing counter punching an those combinations...he was able to throw 4, 5, 6 punches with an exceptional fluidity. And he was one of the few that I've seen capable of throwing such complex combinations while going backwards.
All this plus his warrior attitude made him a joy to watch.
Legend!
and it was nothing like tzsyu/Judah who stumbled forward and fell down twice when counted out or did you conveniently forget that. If it was a legit stoppage I would call it but it wasn't.
Rolly was worse than Judah man. Judah lost his equilibrium but he actually was aware of where he was and what happened, and was able to answer the referee. Rolly was completely off, he struggled to stand up, he had no clue what happened and where he was, his gaze lost... referee had to tell him twice to move on his left and when he did his legs were still messed.
Good stop from the referee, let him continue would have been very dangerous
I’m a Brit and football (soccer) is the most popular sport. I find it incredibly boring.
I’m only really interested in fighting sports- Boxing and MMA. Grand slam tennis is can also be fun.
Anyway where does boxing rank for you ?
I'm in a similar situation...I'm from italy and football is by far the most popular sport here. Years ago I used to watch football much more then now.
My favorite sports are Boxing and Tennis.
How easy it is to watch boxing in Italy? Do any networks show the fights ?
Oh, the only way to watch boxing here is via streaming services like DAZN, Fite, ecc. And very often there is no way to watch a match legally. Showtime for example is not available in my country.
Boxing is very unpopular here.
Wow that guy was like a +1400 underdog
Don't know what the odds were for the fight, but actually I knew that would have not been simple for Scardina.
Giovanni is from my hometown, Rome. I don't know him personally but I know he is very dedicated to this sport, he has a real passion and he fought his entire career for basically no money, just passion. Of course boxing is not his main job cause unfortunately Italy is all about soccer and you can't earn enough money by fighting.
Anyway, I do not dislike Scardina (I actually respect anyone who has the balls to get in a boxing ring) but I was rooting for Giovanni.
How does this ppv cost 80$?? In finland this costs 14€ and i still don't think it's worth it
The same here in Italy, 13,99€.
I bought it. It's a big mismatch but I enjoy watching Davis fight
