Golden Boy promotions always seems to have issues with their top fighters and their contracts. It's always seems to revolve around money. Ortiz wants to fight Boots and make history and Oscar seems to be getting in the way of the process. Golden Boy promotions needs to be heavily investigated and regulated as does Al Haymon with PBC. Fighters and their managers are getting smarter and hopefully all of these corrupt promoters will be forced out of boxing.
Jake Paul will pay Joshua a little extra not to knock him out or embarass him too bad. I think Jake Paul bit off more than he can chew in this fight with Joshua.
I am not a fan of Haney and his grab and jab style. He is also a wannabe gangster. I look for Norman to knock him out by round 8. Norman has the power and youth to stop Haney.
I see Zhang knocking out Wilder. I don't know why Wilder took this fight. First he loss to Parker and now he loses to Zhang. I have Zhang by fifth round KO.
Berlanga could beat Canelo. I try not to underestimate people in the ring. Canelo could get caught with something. Berlanga has been beating too many tomato cans for most of his career which means he has a false sense of superiority in the ring. Canelo is levels above any opponent that Berlanga has fought. Berlanga would have to show some kind of movement, have a hard jab and take Canelo into the later rounds in order to beat him. If I were him I would watch the fight between Bivol and Canelo at least 5 times and implement strategies from that fight. Berlanga has to hit Canelo hard early in order to get Canelo''s respect.
To me it's highly unlikely that Berlanga beats Canelo but anything is possible in the ring.
I rate Berlanga as a good C level fighter who has fought tomato cans for a long time. He is young and has good power though. He needs a top level boxing trainer to bring the best out in him.
Wilder was a good fighter not a great fighter. He fought a lot of tomato cans, beat them and in the process his ego and head got bigger and bigger. At best Wilder was a B level fighter with a A level right hand who fought C level fighters. Wilder is a top 1000 fighter.
I am hoping that Bivol wins by decision. In order for Bivol to win, he has to crack Beter hard at some point in the fight to earn his respect. If he isn't able to hurt Beter then I suspect Beter will knock him out in the later rounds. One thing is for sure though at that is for Bivol to be on his toes for the whole fight. If he stops moving and gets trapped in the corner by Beter then again he will gets knocked out. No one is unbeatable but for some reason guys like to stand there and trade against Beter and every single time they get knocked out.
Bivol has a basic hands up and front of him defense. Nothing fancy that makes him a defensive wizard. He is a basic fighter that goes in a straight line. He is predictable. Can't wait to see this fight though.

Just days before his anticipated rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr, a totally reliable source has confirmed Anthony Joshua died for 11 whole minutes during an intense sparring session, but still intends to go ahead with the fight.
After Joshua was knocked down four times in the first fight with Ruiz en route to a seventh round stoppage, rumours circulated that Joshua was hurt badly in sparring in the buildup to the fight and suffered from a panic attack in his dressing room prior to his delayed ring walk, but Joshua and his team were quick to dismiss them as false.
As if those rumours weren't bad enough, reports are now coming in, mainly from World Boxing News, that Joshua momentarily died in sparring sometime in the last week, which will do nothing for the Olympic gold medallist's chances of reclaiming his world titles.
The source, who asked not to be named, claims Joshua was preparing for Ruiz' speed by sparring a welterweight and was unfortunately hit by a devastating combination that briefly sent the former champion's body to the canvas and his soul to the spirit world for a terrifying 11 minutes.
He also claims the British fighter was brought back to life by a local faith healer (or 'Ruqyah healer' as they're known in Saudi Arabia) who just happened to be in the gym, likely to help Joshua with his anxiety.
When Joshua woke up, he apparently told his team that the spirit of Muhammad Ali gave him some words of inspiration for the rematch, along the lines of "son, if you don't lose some muscle mass, that fat little Mexican will put you on your ass".
Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing, Joshua's promoter, had this to say about the wild claim:
"Who told you that s***? World Boxing News? Whoever it was, it's false. Anthony's been alive for at least the vast majority of camp and no welterweight has put him down that I've seen. There was that middleweight that rocked him a couple of times, but we banned him from camp weeks ago.
"I'm sick of these unfounded rumours going round. Anthony's a warrior. He didn't get knocked out in sparring last time, he didn't have a panic attack; he had a temporary fear-induced state of distress, and he didn't die in sparring last Thursday. S***."

This is funny. Whats even funnier, is that if Joshua somehow loses this fight he will have his excuses ready.
Just the same, if I were Jake I'd be saying a little prayer that Mike doesn't get mad and go off script.
Lol. I hope he goes off script and knocks out Jake Paul.
Breland in this situation will always be considered the most believable of the two.
Wilder with his words and actions has demonstrated how disconnected he really is.
Wilder to me seems to be a good dude, just a bad boxer. That's it. Breland sounds logical and has valid concerns for Wilder. Wilder needed to be humbled but that doesn't seem like it will happen. So until Wilder fights someone else such as Whyte who can knock him clean out then he will keep talking smack. Breland needs at this point to stop the back and forth with Wilder. It isn't doing him any good.
I think that Pacquiao is a first ballot Hall of Famer. I don't understand how Garcia, Porter and Bute got in or were even nominated for the Hall of Fame. They seemed to be letting anyone in the HOF these days. The standards have certainly gotten lower. Even to have their names mentioned is disrespectful to true Hall of Famers.
Colbert got wiped out last night. He couldn't handle the power. The problem with Colbert is that he didn't have much power to offer any resistance last night. His chin doesn't leave much to be desired either. Colbert will be a good name for an up and coming fighter. He is on his way to becoming a gatekeeper.
I got Zhang by knockout over Wilder within 6 rounds. Wilder looked bad in his last fight. His aggression wasn't there in the last fight against Parker. Zhang will catch Wilder and put him down and out.
I like Daniel Jacobs as a person and a fighter. Had he kept his belt after 7 or 8 title defenses then a case can be made for him to be considered in the Hall of Fame. However, boxers do not make the hall of fame for courage but for their fights and wars. At best he was a solid B level fighter who has a very respectable name. At this point any fighter who gets a win over Jacobs will get some name recognition. HOF level, no way.
I like Joshua as a human being and all. He seems to be a good dude. But this is boxing. I wish he had that killer instinct like a Lennox Lewis, Holyfield or previous champions to go in there and make it a dogfight and play to his strengths and force the other guy to make adjustments. I don't know if he grew up in the hood or what but damn get that DOG back. Go for the knockout, push him back and make Usyk uncomfortable. Then after Usyk is knocked out then take him out for a drink.
Her last sentence in this article , “there’s nothing more I can do” there is you can be a humble nice friendly engaging individual instead of the crass , arrogant , self entitled person you are . One thing you cannot change is to increase your punching power and viewers want ko , your last fight was a joke ..
That's how she comes off to me as well. A little humility would take her a long way. She has only fought 11 or 12 times. She is expecting a lot for not having enough fights. Her attitude doesn't help either.
I think Fundora because of his size and fighting style will be a bad bad matchup for Crawford. Fundora is 6 5 and Crawford is 5 9. Fundora has longer reach than Crawford and create matchup problems for him. Crawford should fight someone else. Fundora is not tomato can. He can fight. He uses his height and reach well.
I thought Cruz tried bringing the heat to Davis and showed a lot of heart when they fought. He has more of a Mike Tyson, Joe Frazier style of swarming in when he fights fighters. I wouldn't call him an A level fighter but more of a B or B+ level fighter. His style of throwing lots of punches and swarming in can give a lot of people problems. He showed more heart than Garcia did. Garcia opened himself up for a lot of criticism after the way he fought and quit against Davis last weekend. They should settle it in the ring if Cruz will accept the fight this time.
Anderson needs a real test.
DuBois needs a chance to prove he is back for real.
Joyce needs a serious opponent for the same reason.
No one at the top will touch Zhang with an international treaty.
So Sanchez is saying all of the above have turned him down? Zero chance that is a thing. He is protecting his record, pure and simple.
I agree with this statement 100%. To add to it I don't think Sanchez will get his shot for a while because he isn't a very marketable fighter. He is talented and YES I think he beats most of the top guys because he is a boxer/puncher with great movement and a heavy punch. However, for a lot of these guys such as Joyce, Zhang and DuBois he is too high risk, low reward for them to take the fight. Talent wise I think he beats Jared Anderson. Today's heavyweights are afraid to lose their 0 in the ring and that is the reason why they avoid each other. I think Frank Sanchez will be the new Luis Ortiz where top fighters will wait until he ages out before fighting him. Zhang might fight him, not DuBois though. DuBois is trying to rebuild his career.
Benavidez was being respectful of Canelo because he doesn't want to jeopardize an opportunity to fight against him down the line. His father is the one doing all of the talking. He was right about Canelo. I think Benavidez would put a lot of pressure on Canelo and make him fight more.
A lot of Canelo haters here in the forum. The guys is trying to be great, taking tough challenges and people still giving him crap. You can never satisfied people. He fought champion after champion and still gets crap. The jealousy around here. Let Bivol fight the winner of Smith vs Bertervieb or even move up one weight class and fight a champion.
I agree with you on this. Give Canelo a break.
Romero looks like he is fighting an old man. Then this guy he is fighting is ranked like #2 or something like that by the WBA. This makes the credibility of the WBA go wayyyy down. I hope that Romero trains hard for this fight even though his opponent looks like grandpa.
I like Xander and think that he has solid fundamentals. He needs about 10 more fights to be ready for a world title. He should be moved along carefully. I think he is past the stage of fighting tomato cans.
Stevenson to me is the new Guillermo Rigondeaux. An excellent boxer that stinks up the place. He obviously didn't care about the crowd because if he did then he would have taken more chances in the fight. His opponent was also fast and ready for him and Stevenson didn't want to take any chances with getting caught during the fight. I had a very hard time watching that fight. It tells me something about Stevenson when they showcase his fight on a Thursday night. This fight stunk, stunk, stunk just like Stevenson being a safety first fighter.
His style has changed, that is all, he is not shot... Before the Rocky Fielding fight when he fought at 154-160lbs he was more of a counter puncher/combination style fighter. Ever since the Rocky Fielding fight (his first at 168lbs where he was only 28 incidentally) he has tried to mould himself into a pressure fighter whilst loading up with every shot. Everything is thrown with power and if he can't penetrate a guard he starts hitting arms and shoulders... That style gets rid of the Yildrim's and Plant's of this world but not fighters with elite footwork like Bivol or strong, high output fighters like Benavidez and Canelo knows this!
Also during that 23-30 period how many times was Canelo fighting opponents who weighed significantly less than him or who were older than him? He also should've been allocated 4 losses in that period lets be real here.
Nicely said. Canelo got tired of putting in the work to keep his weight down so he readjusts his style to account for his lack of mobility and movement. Now he throws haymakers and shots to the arms and shoulders with very little lateral movement. Canelo fights in a very predictable style.
I still believe Crawford would mimic Floyd and bookend Canelo's career with a loss to a superior talent. Canelo is smart enough to stay away from Crawford, he knows Crawford's style is poison and a loss to Crawford would crater Canelo's career, and he knows it.
Well said. I agree with you 100% on this. Crawford with his movement and pop on his punches would give Canelo all kinds of problems. He already spars with guys much heavier than Canelo so it would be another day in the office to him.
