I would be shocked as anybody else. But I'll still put some money on a Berlanga decision win. One day the establishent decides "enough with you", and strange things happen. Then again, after the Turki vs Canelo exchanges, I would not be surprised by some huge bribe for a couple of judges...
If Berlanga beats Canelo, I'll be shocked, amazed and down right flabbergasted. Edgar is like a much less-experienced and much less-talented Munguia. One question to the OP: How much is Alvarez paying you to suggest that this fight is potentially dangerous for him? :lol1:
Berlanga could beat Canelo. I try not to underestimate people in the ring. Canelo could get caught with something. Berlanga has been beating too many tomato cans for most of his career which means he has a false sense of superiority in the ring. Canelo is levels above any opponent that Berlanga has fought. Berlanga would have to show some kind of movement, have a hard jab and take Canelo into the later rounds in order to beat him. If I were him I would watch the fight between Bivol and Canelo at least 5 times and implement strategies from that fight. Berlanga has to hit Canelo hard early in order to get Canelo''s respect.
To me it's highly unlikely that Berlanga beats Canelo but anything is possible in the ring.
Caught with something? When has Canelo been down? Caught with what? Bivol hit Canelo hard but did he even drop the Ginger?
Berlanga is nothing special. This fight will be on the same level as when canelo fought Alfredo Angulo or Julio Caesar Chavez jr.
Nelo vs Berlanga +/- than.......
Bud vs Maddy
Benny vs DooDoo
Inoue vs Doheny
:dunno:

Who wouldn't? BerNALGAS is trash ND doesn't deserve this fight, period. Thos is another ripe cherry for Ginger. His fanboys love it. Real boxing fans are disappointed, not surprised though. Ginger been picking his opps for a min.
It ain’t happening. It’s like asking me if I’d be shocked if the world exploded tomorrow. Why ask? The comparison with Tyson-Douglas is heavily flawed. Douglas was actually a good boxer who fought an excellent fight. We only found out what happened with Mike and his carousing/non-training afterwards. Berlanga couldn’t carry Buster’s spit bucket, skill-wise; and Canelo isn’t taking this fight lightly, because he wants to punish the big mouth. So, yeah, the same way I expect the world to be here tomorrow is the same way I expect Alvarez to beat Berlanga. It’s like the sun rising in the east.
It wouldn’t be a Tyson/Douglas style upset, but considering there hasn’t been an outcry this vocal over a Canelo opponent since Yldrim perhaps, this would be a big win.
^^ This ..........................WAR Berlanga :boxing::boxing:
Canelo would have be shot to pirces, he's definitely declined but he still looks like he should have far too much for berlanga who is average at best. .
If Berlanga somehow won, it will have to be from freak injury or some incredible physical decline of Canelo. I don't think the best version of Berlanga could beat any version of Canelo that we've seen thus far.
Yes. I'd be shocked , and kinda glad too. For me the best result would be an accidental headbutt that busted them both up causing a draw , unless there's some way that they could both lose. That would be my favorite, a double loss. A simultaneous KO would be great.

It would without a doubt top Garcia toppling Haney, even if it’s by a close decision.
If (GALAXY-SIZED IF) he were able to spark Canelo out with a single punch this site is going to crash and once it’s up and running again by Sunday afternoon I will never hear the end of it. :(
I might put it at the Tyson Douglas level. It would be interesting to compare the odds! When Mike fought Douglas he did have some issues, had not trained properly, etc... Douglas was motivated, had nothing to lose, and had a nice size and reach advantage. Berlanga is bigger than Canelo, But beyond that? Can he really even punch that hard?
One could probably say, with 20 20 hindsight: "Douglas could tire Mike out and keep him at the end of his jab all night." This is a way Douglas could always have perhaps won this fight... Despite how Douglas actually did win the fight lol, and despite the overwhelming odds that Mike would find him in the real estate of the ring... Ultimately Douglas did use his jab, reach and motivation to an extent, he just surprised with how much success he actually had.
But how could we say Berlanga wins this? Can he knock Canelo out? Even at his best sunday punch? Can he avoid Canelo? Does he have anything to keep Canelo off of him, aside from maybe being bigger? I just cannot see a path to even a very surprising performance by Berlanga.
It reminds me of the Chinese guy who puts all the fake Chinese Masters to sleep... You watch these various Tai Chi Masters, and imagine for a moment, their opponent was standing still, hands down, If even then, could they hit them with something resembling a punch... and the answer is "no" they could not. These guys literally do not know how to hit something with any impact... How could anyone give them a "path" to victory? I see this as analogous to Edgar's situation.

Watch this clip and imagine for a moment this Tai Chi Master could temporarily "paralyze" his opponent... Even then could he even throw a hard shot? lol?
hes physically strong but how many physically strong guys has canelo fought? will be nothing new to canelo. Berlanga is way out of his depths. This is the equivalent of going from the kiddie pool to deep cave diving
berlanga has no chance of winning, hes getting stopped most likely later rounds
all fighters have wear and tear from the sport
