Okolie may be boring and have an ugly style but he's actually quite good and has crazy size at cruiser. Never heard of Camacho but he looks area-level and lost to Chamberlain. Okolie needs to KO him spectacularly.
Chisora should just be happy for the mere fact he has like 10 losses yet continues to get big fights. Can't think of many fighters in his position still cashing checks maybe Broner and Rosado. He doesn't need to prove anything to anyone at this point and an AJ fight would be a foregone conclusion.
Frank has done this numerous times in the past, most recent being archie sharp vs. lyon woodstock or catterall vs davies. I think it will happen and I'd favor Gorman right now. I think everyone just knows Yarde is a glass cannon so they will wait to cash him out vs Kovalev.
Most countries that compete (except the USA) pay their amateurs anyway, Mexico included.
US amateurs get paid too. In the reddit AMA the other day Keyshawn Davis said he is the highest paid amateur on Team USA.
"I'm actually the highest paid amateur on the US team right now. Amateurs get paid."
I'm conflicted about this fight I always back my guys from Philly, but Hurd might just be my favorite fighter at the moment. Can this fight just end in a draw?? That being said this fight will likely be similar to the Harrison fight -- Williams outboxes him for as long as it lasts and gets stopped. I rate Williams a better boxer than Harrison though so if he can keep it together for 12 he can definitely win.
Think this fight does happen eventually despite them being on different sides of the street currently. Both are with Main Events so it should be easier to figure out the network than if they had different promoters. Would be awesome if they brought it to Atlantic City.
No shame in admitting he just can't handle the pro game. Left it a bit late didn't he, might have been able to build had he turned over at 27. Still has nothing to be ashamed of: 2x Olympic medallist, fought for a world title, and no doubt inspired a ton of kids in Ireland. Paddy's done enough for the sport of boxing.
Garcia isn't ready for the world level yet and needs a small step up, you could end up killing his confidence if he gets schooled by Farmer. Kids like 19 or 20 so there's no need to rush him. Doesn't want to end up like a Sam Eggington shot to bits at 25.
Hope Smith is being paid well. Joe DeGuardia has never been the straightest of shooters. Although I think Joe could mix it up with guys like Chilemba or Shabranskyy, his team should prioritize the Monaghan fight at Nassau Coliseum.
vaughn alexander did 10 years and got out and immediately resumed his career at 32. this bull is 27 so maybe if he gets out earlier he can still have a career in boxing.
