DANIEL DUBOIS and Nathan Gorman will meet later this year in a heavyweight fight between two of the division's brightest prospects. Just like when I put James DeGale and George Groves in together in 2011, I'm not afraid to match rising stars early in their careers. That fight helped both men become big names in British boxing. It's going to be interesting to see what the BBBofC have to say at next Wednesday's monthly meeting. Hughie Fury hasn't defended the British title since last May, so surely an order to defend or vacate must be made!
Dubois-Gorman was ordered as a British title eliminator recently and still didn't happen. I may be wrong, but my take on their situation is thus; Warren wants Dubois as his HW poster-boy, but he's still raw in terms of boxing ability. Gorman is currently streets ahead of Dubois progression wise and if they fought this weekend would beat him via wide points decision, and Warren knows it. This fight won't be made until ol' fish eyes is confident that Dubois will win.
Frank has done this numerous times in the past, most recent being archie sharp vs. lyon woodstock or catterall vs davies. I think it will happen and I'd favor Gorman right now. I think everyone just knows Yarde is a glass cannon so they will wait to cash him out vs Kovalev.
Great match up surprised it's happening so soon though
Agree with you but I am apprehensive it will happen this year. If I had to pick now I would fav Gorman
