Arreola is proberly the best money fight available to vit, and arreola would stand there and trade with him so it would be exciting but i dont give arreola much chance right now give it a year or two down the line he may do.
the men who have the best chance of beating a klitschko at the moment is Povetkin and Chagaev both have the ability to trouble them. but back on topic i wouldn't mind seeing vitali/arreola while it lasted. and you never know maybe Vitali's chin is overrated and arreola can get him out of there but i don't think vitali's chin is overrarted.
I agree with everyone if calzaghe is to fight again it should be Dawson, but the problem is not who has dawson beaten because he has some good names on his record, but the problem is calzaghe is not a big name in america he's not a popular fighter over there. so the problem is does Chad Dawson bring enough money because he's Chad Dawson i dont know yet he only just hit the upper echelons of boxing circles and he maybe still too much of a high risk for not big enough reward.
I also agree with alot of the posts that if cal did beat dawson he would be just labelled another overated fighter, because calzaghe never gonna be universally liked by the boxing community because he took to long to try and unify the super mids, i dont know if there was much effort but i always wonder why a calzaghe vs ottke bout was never made.
Personally i think calzaghe will fight again and i think he will pick the road warrior himself glen johnson because he can get a bigger share of the purse fighting glen in the UK
Thats one of the funny things about this fight if hatton wins if you go off alot of the postings on most sites he should get alot of credit, but if he does win everyone will say hatton was to big unlike the weight drained de la hoya and pac was to small was the reson he lost, and if pac wins everyone will just say hattons a bum and never deserved to be there in the first place.
So the only way i can see anyone getting the credit would be if it went the distance in a bloody battle to the end e.g Vazquez/Marquez 3 then the winner would get alot of credit lol
I think they are rated as
#1 WBU
#2 WBF
#3 IBO
#4 ring
#5 WBC
but in all seriousness it is about the ring belt. but about the alphabet belts i think the most respected is the WBC titles. then i would say IBF and WBO then WBA with there two world champs just confuses me most of the time. though the problem is all these boxing organisations are as corrupt as hell and are what is hurting boxing.
He deserves recognition because he isn't in any boring fights, and may win an aplhabet title or two in his career. but i dont think he will ever be a top dog in any division. But i like miranda and wish him all the luck in the world.
Forgetting about the whole plaster scandal Shane is #1 because of how enfatically he beat Margarito, but cotto is a close second and i agree their has to be a rematch between the two.
The whole Valuev hiding from the klitschkos debate is pointless anyway because i think valuev has no chance of beating chagaev and if what i read today on a different web site today is true that chagaev wants to unify the division and isn't afraid of either klitschko we will all get to see the unification matches we want to see the only way i see valuev coming away against chagaev with the title if it becomes another borefest like the holyfield fight and he gets away with a horrible decision again.
The point of Valuev being protected from the klitschkos is mute because i personally feel he won't get past Chagaev, im surprised i haven't heard many other names after Valuev the likes of Povetkin, Haye , Arreola all three would proberly win this fight as well and give and prospective fight with either one of the klitschkos much better drawing power. with another title on the line, if valuev though some how gets past Chagaev i dont know if he has another mandatory after this but i personally wouldn't be to surprised if Ruiz get another shot at him because of their Don king connection which will be another horrible fight no one wants to see,
Matthew Hatton has always interested me because i consider him a journeyman with a better record. who in his last fight was yes unlucky not to get the decision. but Who for some reason he thought the IBO world title was a legitimate one. he thinks he should be fighting the welterweight divisions elite fighters. being linked with mayweather he must be daft not to realise if he was given the fight he'd be nothing but cannon fodder.
he is at best a good british title level fighter who shoudl be chasing down fights with guys like Kell Brook, Michael Jennings, John O'donnell, Go for revenge against Craig Watson. etc. I just wish he would fight guys like these and work his way up and not just piggy back off his brothers name.
I think this could be haye and his promotion team trying to pull a is it on or not trick which people thought was going on with the pac and hatton fight, to try and boost the publicity and excitment about the fight whilst continuing to use his ali tactic of have digs at wlad to try and piss him off, which i think will work against him because it will only make wlad more focused on his job.
If it is down to purse well haye should take 30 - 70 split and be happy because Wlad doesnt need to fight haye yet, haye isn't a big enough name world wide to warrant a bigger portion, haye would have done better facing a couple of american fighters like a arreola, thompson, ruiz or maybe samuel peter and if he got through a couple of them, the american audience would believe his hype more and he could ask for a bigger portion. even though i want haye to win i think this a few fights to early and he will get stopped in about the 8th or 9th round.
I think these two fighter (Chambers/Povetkin) do pose the biggest challenge wlad has faced in the last 4-5 years, and will be the first time i've been excited about a wlad fight in a long long time.
i kind of have a feeling barrera is going to pull in a couple of weeks time and they will draft in another fighter for khan, because as someone said it is a hard card to delay two weeks with the two title fights and other fights on the card. it is the sort of trick i wouldnt past warren and king.
Cotto is 100% right Maragrito should be banned for life, we will never know if he cheated against cotto or not. but we now know he definatly tried to cheat against mosley, and as others have said boxing is dangerous enough as it is. that for someone to do this is disgusting, but it is also disgusting to only give him a 1 year ban. which really isn't that long a time for some boxers to be out of the ring.
Unfortunatly this fight will never happen, cause i would love to see vit land a good solid right on valuev chin and see him fall down like a giant redwood.
but he will lose by UD to Chagaev and like someone else said i think Ruiz is next in line after that somehow. So vit may as well talke on maskaev because it's an easy win for him. and then try and take on haye (if Wlad and him dont get it on) or Arreola because those two fights are definatly winable and would most likly make most money.
Ok i have to be honest I would Love to see Jennings win being a fellow brit and all but in realistic terms he so very very unlikly to come out of this fight with the title, i think he will give cotto trouble for the first 2 maybe 3 rounds and then cotto will likly find his rythem again and dominate down the stretch and i think we will see a late stoppage in about rounds 9 or 10, so unless jennings can some how stop cotto in those first 2-3 rounds he will do very well to go the distance and will deserve a lot of credit if he does.
For me Khan will win this fight i think he going to be the sort of fighter who will gett excited about being in the ring with a big name like MAB and will step up his game, also he shouldnt be looking beyond this fight which he might of been doing against prescott because if he loses this where does he go from there. so i think all of his natural advantages like height, speed, youth possibly better power at the weight will all be on show and his biggest asset who will help him iron out his less than stellar attributes e.g his defence is Freddie Roach, because aslong as Khan keeps his discipline and listens to what freddie is telling him, then i think khan will have to much on the night. But you never know MAB is a legend and may just school Khan on the night being that if he loses it is essentially it for him. but hey thats just my 2 cents
This is quite a disappointing line up compared to the one that they got for the light welterweights where I did feel Rees was favourite but i felt 3 maybe 4 of the others could spring a shock and win it also.
but in this one you have one boxer who has been given recent exposure in Pryce thanks to his connections with the Calzaghe/Warren stable. So he will go in obviously favourite. but i do fancy Neil Sinclair who maybe getting on a bit now but he still put away two opponents early last year. and has the pedigree to be a factor.
But as a sleeper pick i would go for Danny butler he's a young hungry fighter who has experience in prizefighter thanks to appearing in the middleweight version and was unlucky too lose in the semis to eventual winner martin murray last time. though he did suffer a bad knockout to Darren Barker in his last outing which may affect him as may dropping down a weight divison if he has learned from those experiences he may spring a shock or two.
