Several years ago, Miranda was being touted as the next best middleweight fighter because of his explosive knockout power and his ‘hard luck’ story. Fast forward a few years later and things have not gone to plan; he’s been KO’d in grand fashion twice and all of a sudden he’s lost some of his luster and is desperately trying to be relevant again…
As a fan of Pantera, I want him to succeed and do well for himself. He is, after all, a very entertaining fighter who’s never been in a dull fight in his life. So, do you think he could ever be an elite super middle or light heavy weight fighter? I don't have allusions that he’ll be an undisputed champions but I think he could win some big fights against some big name fighters. What do you guys think?
It wouldnt shock me if he picked up a version of the title at some point but i only see him as a good contender with knock out power.
He will never be the top guy in the division though.
probably not, but who cares not everyone can be Sugar Ray Robinson
Edison Miranda usually has entertaining fights, that's all I can ask for as a fan
Well said, and that's why he is still my favorite fighter. He has had too many weight issues during his biggest fights. How much it effected him, who knows. I dont think he would have beaten Abraham at his best at any weight. At 168lbs and up I honestly think he beats Pavlik.
He will make another run. I hear a fight with Andre Ward is in talks for possibly May at 168lbs (elimination bout?). That will be a tough fight. I recently watched a couple of Ward's recent fights and he looks pretty damn good. His chin is still questionable though....
Hopefully if this fight developes it will become an elimination bout to fight the winner of Taylor/Froch. Miranda vs Taylor needs to happen one day! This might be the last chance.

If he could punch then he would have been great, but he is a feather fisted fighter, so Im gonna have to say yes.
He deserves recognition because he isn't in any boring fights, and may win an aplhabet title or two in his career. but i dont think he will ever be a top dog in any division. But i like miranda and wish him all the luck in the world.
Abraham out boxed Miranda the first fight as well as the second. If they have a third, at any weight, he will out box Miranda yet again. Like Sam Peter, Miranda still hasn't learned his trade and chances are he isn't going to. Nevertheless, he comes to fight consequently he always has a punchers chance, and that will make him a factor in the division.
As the famous Dave Chappel would say.
"He's fucking done son!"
He's a B level fighter at best...I had HIGH hopes of Miranda because of his past but he's showed that he isnt on the level of Elite plenty of times.
he should look to take on someone like kessler, or maybe the winner of wright and williams.
heck i reckon he could do put up a good fight against someone lke bute, or bika.
but is he ever gonna be the man in any division? no.
You guys are quick to write him off. He might be able to reinvent himself if he hooked up with the right trainer. I’m optimistic that he can turn his career around…
