Of course it's the right thing to do. No matter who wins the rematch, such a great clash should be remembered for what it is, not for a biased referee.
Well, PPVs in America have massive economical success, that's why they keep happening. For many other countries it is considered outrageous to make someone pay to watch just ONE event.I believe they are popular in Denmark for Kessler's fights.
I don't know what other countries do, but at Greece for example, we don't have PPVs. If you 're a sports fan you can subscribe for 50E/month to NOVA satellite bouquet and watch almost any big sports event you want + access to movie and doc channels. I read a few months ago that this greek bouquet is getting popular among british pub owners because it's cheaper.
I don't know if it has boxing, but pretty much everything else is in.
Also, greek MMA fans can watch UFC main cards for free (and legally) via a greek sports website whereas americans and many others pay for the main event.
To conclude, I believe that the whole PPV system is just a fraud. You pay to watch HBO, you pay to watch SkySports, so why do you have to pay them again? Especially when the amounts are as big as I read above (25$+).
Mares vs Agbeko was by far more disgusting.
Williams vs Lara was actually a good fight and then the judjes came to ruin it all. As for Agbeko vs Mares, when that 11th round low blow ref turned it into a knockdown I was so angry that for the first time I closed the video before the end of the fight.
That doesn't seem very fair in my opinion.
The American boxing fans are the only ones coming out of their own pocket to support the sport. Basically we are subsidizing it for a lot of these other countries around the world.

Last week all I wanted was an entertaining fight. But after all that happened, the unbelievable referee and the extremely dirty "boxing" by Mares, I am rooting for Agbeko. I want Agbeko to win. I don't care if the fight will be entertaining or boring or whatever, I just want Agbeko to win.:boxing:
And assuming that there will be a "normal" referee this time, I think he will make it. Everybody's attention will be to Mares' body shots and probably the tolerance by the ref at his dirty lows will be missing this time.
Katsidis says he will stay at the jr welter. At his firtst fight there he KOed Lozada a week ago. So, unless Mitchell is willing to move up to 140, I don't think there is gonna be a rematch.
Oh God, I couldn't wait for the fight to end. It was so so so boring!
Andrade's tactic might be good for the "Brewers" of his division but if he wants to go to the top he needs to improve a lot. Last night he wasn't impressive at all. He didn't make Brewer looking harmless, Brewer was harmless by himself. I wouldn't like to watch him on tv card again, unless he improves a lot.
The only reason Chavez jr is considered "top boxer" is because of his father. I watched him against Zbik some months ago, the guy has no chance against a trully good boxer. He won't fight Canelo any time soon, he will keep fighting second and third class guys for as long as he can so he can keep the hype up. And when finally he will be made to fight a good boxer the legend of Chavez jr will end. :boxing:
I don't think there is a TV Network that's going to pay for a Pavlik fight ever again. The guy has cancelled fights 5 times since his 2008 loss against Hopkins, more than he actually fought (4 times).
Considering what Pavlik is doing latelly, I predict that the next article about him will have a title like this: "Arum: Pavlik will have a long road back from jail".
Katsidis is staying at jr welter so that rematch ain't gonna happen any time soon. I' d like to see Katsidis fighting with the winner of Morales vs Matthysse next.
Let's say that someone wants to corrupt a fight. What does he do? Does he wear a big, funny hat and sits in front of the cameras so that anyone who watches the video carefully can see him? I don't think so...
We have controversy (to put it nicely...) on TV bouts at least once a month. In any of them, did you see a big guy with strange hat corrupting the fight in front of everyone? I don't think so...
Also, as someone mentioned before, didn't Khan's people see that "mystery man" sitting with the judges during the fight?
When the best thing you can say about a boxer is that every now and then he spars with someone (even if that "someone" is Manny) then that's all you need to know about him.
Salido is trying to get as many $ as he can from his home fans because he probably knows that at his stay at the top won't last long. His win against JunMa was an upset and for me he will be a big underdog against all top-level competition.
