Pascal said those comments just to piss off BHop and it worked pretty well ...
Bernard is talking of beating physically Pascal and after the fight beating mentally maybe throughout a law suit ... I liked what Pascal had to say about that : That makes me only laugh, because if he decides to sue me, I'll filed a plaint to the police for the death
threats against me ... lol
Anyway, supposedly, there is a video made by HBO showing that maybe there hate against each other maybe no that strong.
Yvon Michel of group GYM just said in an interview that their offer to Hopkins was worth more than the deal with Kovalev ... He later stated that people fear Adonis.
Anyway, Hopkins will outsmart Kovalev's iron fist.
Kessler has been told he would fight the winner of the super 6 and now Bute has been told the same thing ...
This would become an elimination matchup to face the champion.
I have strong faith in Bute's ability to fight anyone but maybe I'm a little blinsided since I'm from Montreal.
Can't wait for those fights to come, great boxing expected
Lucian Bute trainer as become Diaconu's trainer. If we see the old Adrian from 2 years ago when Dawson prefered to let go the belt to fight in another division, Dawson could be in trouble ...
But unfortunatly, I think we will see a non convicing Diaconu, like we saw is last 3 fights ( Pascal twice and Seika )
From Montreal ...
I believe Stevenson will win tonight ... But at the same time I don't think he was tested that much and unfortunatly I think he will hit a wall (eventually) just like Bute did with Froch when he will face either Froch or even Ward...
( That said I also think that Bute is a much better fighter then what we've seen against Froch and he could addapt himslef if he gets the rematch )
I'm a Bute fan and I have to admit that the IBF should give a re-match to Andrade.
Here in Montreal, there is a lot of talk that it was borderline to stop the count to show andrade to his corner ... That gave the 19 count lol ...
For bute trainner, he's says that this time they're the ''lucky'' ones refering to the steal of Beyer Vs Lucas in Germany ...
Again I'm a fan ... But didn't Bute showed something for 11 rounds ???
We should except a great re-match
He'll go after the winner of Bute-Pascal - that would be huge in quebec no doubt.
Then probably choose a less good opponent and then cash out vs Kovalev, who he'll definitely lose to.
It all depends on the outcome of Pascal VS Bute they allready have a revenge clause ... If the fight is a close call, bet your money on a Pascal VS Bute II.
Nothing about hometown bullshit ...
Miranda took a few steps backwards and seemed shaken.
Clearly, even if he's a Canadian, nationality doesn't matter at the level he's right now. Just bring the best against him !
For once I think Bute and his team should step up to the plate ... Lets go to Nottingham !
I just don't know how it works when they still have a fight with Showtime who's been showing no interrest in a Bute-Froch clash.
There's a new press conference today in New York ...
Pascal just said that to piss him off ... And it worked pretty well. Let's just see what Bhop will say today to mess with Pascal's head.
Pascal should have lost the first fight but I do believe that this time he will do a lot better than what we showed last time.
It wouldn't be a first in boxing to see a concrete deal go sour ... Only in boxing.
Will Dawson really go for Pascal without is title ? Is HBO offering a lot of $$$ ?
Pascal disapointed me during is fight with Hopkins and I believe that
he would have it easier with an Hopkins re-match. If we can see the real Dawson from round 9-10 and 11, I don't see how Pascal could win.
We'll just have to wait and see what GYM will decide ...
Also today on radio, Stephane Larouche, Bute's trainer said that, good or bad, other fighters that avoided him in the past will be more open to face him ... Now that they know he can be beat.
I think Pascal's capable of beating both Stevenson and Kovalev. He's gone somewhat underrated because of the Hopkins fights.
Watch him make this post look really bad by losing to Bute now.
lol
This could happen ! I'm from Montreal and I honestly prefer Bute and fell that Pascal only fights the first 6 rounds ... Still a good matchup to see. But Pascal will beat, a still fragile, Bute and we won't need to see a rematch in that case. Will it be Stevenson ? If so Pascal is also done ...
Waiting for the end of 2014, I'm in favor of stevenson but it's still a 50/50 fight
It will be a test for Pascal also ...
We ear a lot in Montreal that GYM fighters have a good record but that they are not as good as there ranking ... ( ALCINE - BUTE ).
Pascal trained hard like never before and his shoulder is finally allright.
Should be a good matchup
Dawson won't get the rematch ... On RDS website from Montreal it was written that Shaw prefered to have a partnership in the next Adonis fight instead of a rematch clause. It also stated that Yvon Michel would buy that option out to be ''free'' ...
He's only 22 years old. Guess that will be part of the learning curve.
With maybe a big 30 seconds left in the round I feel that Russ Anber threw the towel a little too soon but he probably felt that he wasn't going to get threw the next few rounds anyway.
Lemieux needed that fight to see where he stood and that loss will make him a better fighter.
Bute needs to come back strong and it will not be against Froch for a rematch ... He's not ready and from what we've seen, doesn't deserve one.
Froch took advantage of a big weekness of Bute. He came strong in the inside. In the past Bute as always been able to use is jab enough to keep opponents on the outside ( maybe that exception would be Andrade in the first fight) . Even if Froch got a few good blows to the chin he kept coming in and it really paid off.
Hats off to him for that.
Bute probably needed that in his carrer to continue to move foward. He's 32 and far from over. Just hoping he doesn't retire after this cruel beating ( just a flash from Leonard Dorin who retired after a loss against Arturo Gatti ).
Great fight by Froch. I'm in shock ... Never would I've thouth that Bute would look like a kindergarden kid.
I just hope he will get up from this fight. Froch said that he understoud why Bute got a lot of opponents KO by his left and that being cought twice, he had to ''finish'' him soon and leave him no chance. He did that perfectly and made it look easy.
It was interresting to hear Bute trainer at the end of the third round : '' hope you know you're getting knocked out, you know ? You're staying too much in the rope '' and at the end of the fourth : '' I give you one minute ... ''
This defeat will make Bute a better fighter ...
I think Bute will win this fight and can't wait for the rematch against Froch ...
Will he beat him ? I'm not sure but I did like what his trainer said this week : Bute last opponents before Froch started to lay down like flies, he KO them. But Bute ain't no '' KO boxer '' . He tried to go head to head with Froch ( he's a tough so* ) and that turned very badly. Bute will go back to what made him a champ ...
Lets see how it goes saturday ;)
I am betting the promoters are hoping it is an exciting fight so they can do the rematch.
Yes indeed, all ready signed. Each fighter will have the chance to fight another opponent before the rematch ( if the rematch ever occurs ).
Nice attempt by stevenson to stay relevant and make it seem like he actually wants the fight
Kovalev was the one who called out Stevenson ...
They both want it but it will never happen because of HBO vs Showtime
both will get tested ( Pascal vs Bute )
From what I've heard here in Montreal is that they want to make history.
It will be one of the biggest Canadien fight but also both will be tested ! They've decided to get tested by the (United States Anti-Doping Agency) or thE VADA (Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency.
Also heard from GYM Yvon Michel, there's a 500K for the first pound if Pascal is overweight and 200K more each pound ... Pascal won't be overweight for that fight !
Quote : '' Bute fits that criteria perfectly. He could have easily gotten himself into the
Super Six, but he chose not to.''
Never read somewhere that he chose not to ... It's been almost 2 years since Bute wanted a shot at a bigger fighter but that super 6 took 6 challengers out ... Kessler chose someone else, Palvil declined ...
2012 will be a big year for Bute. At leat we will be able not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.
