Unbeaten super middleweights Carl Froch and Jean Pascal promised a war on Saturday night at the Trent FM Arena in Nottingham. The two fighters will clash for the vacant WBC super middleweight title and the chance to make a defense against mandatory Jermain Taylor in 2009.

Froch promised his hometown crowd that he is going to test Pascal early by making the fight a war in the early going. He promised to unleash hell.

"I am going to get straight to the point. He is totally out of his depth. He has never fought anybody in my league, nobody that punches as hard me. I am going to unleash hell on him. I am going to show him why I am going to be the undisputed world champion," Froch said.

Pascal said he respects Froch's power, but if the fight becomes a war - he will mentally outlast his opponent and leave the ring with the title.

"I respect Carl as a person and a boxer. He is a solid boxer and a heavy puncher.
"I know all about the power of his punches but I know I am mentally stronger than him," Pascal said.
