seriously cool guys
i think there should be a boxingscene party one day... i know theres alot of banter here but its all friendly aint it?!!
would be cool to meet all u guys, just talk about boxing all day over a few beers
first ever time posting something on here, but have been visiting regularly for about 6 months.. youve (geoff) got some intelligent stuff to say, and always post something worth readin
nice1
audely should be the heavyweight champion - has all the characteristics.... and hes a lefty!
hes a pretty decent fighter, and i would like to see him put on a clinic against skelton... but i just dont see it happening
Who caused the riot in one of Audley Harrisons fights?
(Big shot )
lol audley did!! he teased herbie by getting the crowd to cheer for a fight with him and frank bruno!
danny was floored 5 times by vitali, but got up 5 times.
he's truly shown great heart in his career, and the only thing missing is that elusive world title.
i think vitali probably punches harder than tyson, although its hard to admit that. vitali was a good heavyweight with alot of skills
Frank Warren had a good year - Calzaghe won a huge fight against Lacy and followed it up with a win over Bika. Now scheduled to fight the popular Manfredo next year. Amir Khan continued to shine. Danny and Matt Skelton fought two battles, the first being an absoloute cracker. Dannys loss to Audley had a silver lining to it as he will now promote Audley. Also, Kevin Mitchell looked super all year, as did Kell Brook and Anthony Small. Stephen Foster, Thomas McDonagh lost as did Wayne Alexander, but Takaloo rebounded with a win against Eamon Magee. The final plus is that he made friends with Don King again. On the downside, he has no Hatton.
saw the fight on skysports last night, good to see another midlands boy representing on the world stage...
how anyone can say froch isnt world class is beyond me, and how anyone can say he doesnt deserve to fight the best is plain ridiculous...
i saw him fight matthew barney a few years ago in nottingham when witter was on the undercard.. both froch's and witter's opponents were cagey and unorthodox but froch busted barney up while witter won a close decision.. now witters a world champ (albeit in a weaker division)
froch will be a champ no doubt
i tend to read most boxing books, especially autobigraphys... the best is muhammed ali's (it has a yellow cover), its a fantastic read - couldnt put it down!
by far the worst is amir khans.. read it in about 2 hours - the punctuation was poor, sentences had no structure, crap story... all round poor piece of work, but did have some funny pictures of a young buck tooth amir hahaha!
gona buy hattons book this weekend, read it and give it to my dad for christmas hahahaha!
Hatton was a light-welterweight fighting at welterweight, Cotto was a welterweight fighting at light-welterweight.
im not so sure... looking at hatton between fights, id say he was a cruiserweight fighting at light-welter haha!
agreed cotto is big for his weight tho, but then so is hatton and witter
Can somebody tell me why people are talking about a huge showdown against Khan and Mitchell when they're two weight divisions apart?
theyre the 2 best prospects in the world right now
It's like Pacman fighting Floyd Mayweather.
theyre both young and growing... im sure khan will end up at welterweight one day, and mitchell cant stay at super-featherweight forever
williams is a true warrior. he had his nose broken, bleeding from cuts on his nose and cheek, and swelling under his eye.
the doc was looking at it and before they could make a decision danny walked to the centre of the ring and put his hands up ready to fight again.
audley talks far too much. he came out with so much crap after every single one of his fights on the bbc and no one listened. now people listen because he has a good victory under him.
danny has asked for the country to get behind him when he goes for a title shot. problem is audley doesnt have the personality that people like. it would be nice if he showed humility and dignity sometimes.
the itv show last night was great - especially when they showed audley the video of him getting knocked down by danny last year! ha! he was like "i should have rolled my shoulder" and then he took a verbal battering from barry.
Well, Danny was in far better shape for this fight than he was for the Vitali fight and Audley did a far better job than Vitali did, as good a job as Vitali did.
come on son leave it out. vitali was for a world title.
also, danny would have carried on and taken a beating a la vitali for several more rounds.
on another note, it looked like manfredo got a good reception in london.. good for him. so did bruno. good to see him about too
in my heart of hearts i knew audley would win. in fact i think audley should be a world champ - he has the size and quality to do it.
fact is tho, he only beat an average fighter today.. audley was asking for the uk to get behind him, ha! he can go fuck himself!
he was acting like he had won the world cup after that victory.
im not a great fan of harrison but he is a bloody hard nut to crack.. cook is a very cute boxer, and hes been in with some decent europeans but i just think harrisons roughness will take it down to the trenches and take cook to a place he hasnt been before.
your right about danny - the guy always comes in way too heavy and out of shape. he clearly has power tho and thats the equalizer in boxing.
He says he'd fight Oscar De La Hoya next, and Mayweather on the same night. And beat them both.
He's delusional.
yes thats a bit silly - but he does have skills
reminds me a bit of a slightly sharper alan minter
whats the latest weight report for danny? is he under 300?
hahaha! i expect 260.. whatever weight he comes in at i can see audley doing what skelton did in his rematch with danny - run, jab and run.. he will probably do that and probably win
I really like the intercontinental belt idea. They give the holder a good ranking with that body and much needed experience at fighting bouts with a number of rounds.
I’m guessing Kahn’s opponent is a bum :(
yea the dude has no KO's on his record and 3 losses i think.. but hes never been stopped.. even so i think amir will murder him in less than 4 rounds
i think kevin mitchell had this belt before.. i would rather see amir go the traditional route - british, commenwealth and european
