I do not condone what Margarito or his trainer have done. However I do not believe he should be banned for life. Mosley and other boxers have taken steroids to gain speed and strength with the intent that this will in effect make their punches have greater effect. Mosley got off scott free yet Margarito may be banned for life. Cheating is cheating wheter its loaded gloves or taking steroids the intent is to gain an advantage over your opponent. If your gonna ban one cheater than ban the other one as well.
Good fight. In my opinion Clottey Deserved the dec by a point or 2. Outside of the knockdown , He connected with more overall punches landed more powerpunches, jabs were even Clottey also landeded the more telling cleaner and effective punches. Cotto did fight well backing up and his stamina was improved from previous fights but when Clottey chased him down and cotto countered for the most part Clottey picked off most of his punches and would counter with punches of his own that landed cleaner and more flush. Margarito should be given a second chance. He has served his suspension. His handwrapping in the lockerroom prior to him fighting will be closely observed. Margarito and Mosley have the same excuse.
