i havent even gotten into boxing yet getting boxing stuff for christmas
i used to do tae kwon do was going to be ranked nationally but dislocated my knee so i can't do that anymore so i'm getting into boxing
well i am new to it so your saying the smaller means the more experienced you should be and the bigger means less experience
btw what does the speed bag work on
well see i wasn't going to bench press for power i just have a bet with my neighbor on racing to 225 and i cant be a full time weightlifter and boxer so i was going to do that first but is there any actual routine that i can use that is used by people
i appreciate all the sidebar conversations but is there a workout plan i can follow for boxing i know the fundamentals so if there is something i don't know then i'm sure i can look it up on the internet (this is just until i get a car and can go to a real boxing gym)
being strong gives you power... i dont know what these guys are talking about as long as you punch correctly you will have harder punching power, you should improve other things instead of just your bench though.
When you say boxing workouts do you mean sparring, bag drills, pads and jump roping or are you looking for weight lifting workouts for boxing?
yes i mean you know bag drills and stuff like that but weight lifting is going to have to go in there somewhere so i don't lose all muscle
I've got a few questions . A) what is your height? B) what is your age? C) how much do you weight?
A 5' 8" B 16 C 170( i am planning on losing some fat i am 12 percent BF
see i have all the equipment at my house but i don't have a car yet when i do and i get a car i will be going to a boxing gym so yeah right now i am going for boxing
lol power is something u should focus on later. if your just starting to train, focus on ur stamina. If you've never done a smoker before, you will be a bit nervous and might throw ur wad out early. Stamina and technique is what i feel you should focus on, power will come as those things mature.
you are right but i do need a good workout still
do you want to max 225, or rep it?
i plan on just maxing it at first and then rep it but the repping can come all in good time
just to let you know incase you dont already, weight lifting does not improve power nor does it give you explosive energy, hammer & tyre exercises and the like to.
what is the hammer adn tyre exercises because no i didn't know that about the weight part
