Everyone is acting like these TOP welters we have now are just unbeatable.... real boxing fans know when you can look good against B level fighters/the reason everyone was saying broner was the next floyd. But when you get in the ring against an A level fighter, they get exposed. Thurman, Mikey, Danny would be easy money for Pac, Spence Porter and Crawford might be tough for him.
Floyd is one of my favorite fighters but I believe the only boxer that had a chance to break through that impenetrable defense was southpaw Paul the punisher Williams with height and length advantages over him and the work rate he sustained would have gave him problems and I truly believe he is the reason why floyd retired the first time
Wish the fight woulda went on, was entertaining while it lasted. Brook was getting in some good uppercuts that were snapping ggg head back , but it seemed like ggg was starting to come on strong when the fight was stopped. Who knows what would of happened if his eye injury never happened, i think brook would of probably suffered the same fate as khan, thats why we have weight classes.
tey were calling him run time and duck time for months... Acting like he is scared of porter and he wont fight him.... The same blueprint is being used for the hate on danny.....
They were saying that about thurman because he was calling out floyd and floyd was saying he needs to fight spence and thurman was saying spence was still a prospect.
I agree with jmm i believe boxing is starving for stars right now with fmj retired and pac on his way out boxing needs its next big star and right now canelo, and ggg are most appealing to the boxing world.
I'll tell you guys one thing. If Thurman beats Garcia, and Crawford beats Pacquiao, that Crawford-Thurman fight will be big enough for a small PPV.
That is how you build superstars. By chaining big fights together, not one big fight every two years. And I even forget Floyd and Spence. Maybe do Thurman-Garcia winner vs Floyd, Crawford-Pacquiao winner vs Spence, then winner of Garcia/Thurman-Floyd and Crawford/Pacquiao-Spence fight each other. THAT is how you build big fights.
What kind of "boxing logic" is it that Spence who is good but hasnt fought anybody is sitting at the end of the road waiting on the winner of pac /crawford? "Boxing logic" is pac awaits the winner of a crawford/spence fight which isnt gonna happen in the near future.
I think pac vs spence is a good fight however i think spence is probably 3 4 fight away from that fight. Spence looks like the next star he can build his own legacy wiping out ww division and either wait for crawford to move up or chase canelo up.
Pac is wasting valuable time, where time is not on his side. So many good, winnable fights that can be made, but they wanna waste their time with a nobody, no disrespct to horn but he hasn't earned it.
As bad as Thurman looked in a couple of those rounds, I still like him against Pacquaio. Pac didn't look that great early against Broner and Thurman is no Broner. I think he gets a decision. Pac's win would only come from a KO or several KDs I think.
Thurman is diet miguel cotto that cant take body shots. Pac by TKO 10
He is good but its not what i mean,i hate this whole Boogyman talk......
I think its a good fight for both guys. Whoever wins has another legit name to add to there slim list of good fighters on their resumes.
Collecting the Asian 💵 💰 bags (TMT)
Them Japanese people arent gonna keep spending good money to keep seeing their people get their asses kicked. Might just say **** it and let their guys throw some leg kicks in one of them fights just to see him get knocked out.
I like both fighters and must say this fight was one of the worst fights both of them have been in. pac looked scared to pull the trigger and mayweather looked like he could of did some damage if he would of did more. shoulder injury or not Floyd's style is bad for pac all he has to do is come down to pacs height where he can see his punches coming. Maybe a prime PAC before the knockout might of been able to do something but he just isn't the same fighter without that careless aggression with that said I don't wanna see a rematch
20 years is a long time. everything evolves so quickly. size, strength, speed, nutrition, training techniques, recovery techniques, medicine, supplements, etc. it doesn't make any sense that the best from '97 would beat the best from '17.
we think of lennox lewis as great because of the way he dominated those around him in his time. we're comparing him against others from '97 and how much better or worse he was than those in that time.
which can trick us into thinking he was actually better than a deontay wilder or an anthony joshua. because we're comparing them against the best in their time. but the best in their time are way better than the best in lewis's time.
the idea that wilder would absolutely destroy ali and tyson doesn't sit well with people. those are our heroes. they've been put on a pedestal. but simple logic dictates that the best from '17 in something as physical as boxing would wipe the mat with the best from '97 or '77.
This is boxing we're talking about that has been practiced for a very long time, unlike football, basketball, and baseball. And i feel like boxers were better when times were harder for them (wars, racial issues, poverty) so to just say boxers of today would wipe out boxers of the past is crazy. In todays world the ali's are playing football and basketball.
"he is too good of a boxer, too good of a boxer. he is not promoted the right way, he is not promoted the right way"
floyd sounding like jimmy two times from goodfellas
Lmao #classic
This is the stuff Garcia should be doing if he only wants paydays. Not this suicidal Spence shyt.
Not that I like this fight either but at least it's reasonable.
We already seen how the spence/garcia fight plays=kel brooke vs ggg... but this fight is more reasonable because of pacs age
:pat:Crawford isnt a big enough name to be a mega payday. He is also not unmarketable . If he get his ass beat by Manny (and he will) after a lack luster fight with Postal that had fans booing it could surely damper any mega fight potential he could have. His handlers wont let that go down.
Pac /crawford easily outdoes pac/vargas. Its the fight EVERYONE is talking about. His handlers (bob arum) wants the fight because: A: both top rank fighters more inhouse money. B: arum thinks crawford is the next star and believes he can beat pac and win over fans the way floyd did when he beat oscar. C: if pac wins he goes on to make more money for arum and crawford is still young
JMM is shot to **** and hasn't fought in years, he's not a puncher either. :dunce: That's why he wants to fight JMM again.
While i agree that jmm is old and shot, he has 56 wins with 40 by way of KO. To say he's not a puncher is ludicrous.
The Spence fans are even more delusional than the GGG ones. Algieri(damaged) and Bundu(ancient) are the standout names on his resume. The guy has literally done nothing so far that tells me he can beat the likes of Brook or Thurman. Kell did pretty well at handling GGG's power for a few rounds and coming back with nice counters of his own. I look forward to seeing what happens to Spence when someone can take his power and return shots of their own.
Brook is a good fighter but the eye test tells you that spence is the better fighter. You can talk about who he faced but fail to realize that he sparred with floyd and held his own.
Why is Roy Jones calling out GGG when Canelo is ducking him?
Yes canelo is ducking him but canelo has a better resume than ggg. Ggg hasnt fought anyone.
All a matter of perspective. Personally, I believe humans evolve much quicker than most people realize and the best in the world of pretty much any sport in 2017 would destroy the best in the world from 1997. So I don't think it's a question of the division being devoid of talent. AJ & Wilder clearly have talent and if they keep winning, they'll be heading towards a massive showdown.
I have to disagree with you here. Yes humans do evolve and i believe there are more good athletes when it comes to quantity today. But in no way can you compare any of these heavy weights now to even the 97 class of hw. I just think that alot of humans that have size advantages chose to go other routes than boxing today, therefore drying up the hw division.
Styles make fight. Manny has always been a sucker for counterpunchers with good right hands, timing, patience, footwork and boxing IQ (not converted southpaws) ala, Dela Hoya, Cotto and Hatton. I am talking about Morales, Marquez, Mayweather, etc. The thing Manny had going for him was his stamina, and throwing numerous punches from weird angles. However, since he fired Ariza, all that disappeared. Yes, Ariza was Manny's "secret weapon" not Freddy.
Seeing something is one thing, but being able to do something about it is another thing. Manny knows one way to fight and that is dart in and out throwing punches. He fought Marquez four times and still couldn't figure him out and end up darting into a right hand.
No, he is not physical, but highly skill with a high boxing IQ. He will set traps for Manny. His footwork is impeccable where he will having Manny misjudging distances, reaching and getting countered. Anytime Manny reaches in, when he found himself out of position, he always pulls straight back and Marquez and Morales always made him pay for this. I saw it couple times with Broner, but Broner's IQ is low and also Broner is a coward who doesn't take chances.
You Mikey fans dont need to worry about pac, spence is gonna change his whole way of fighting when he gets done with him.
Alot of rounds Thurman only fought the last 20 seconds of the rounds...You making it seem like he dominated when compubox said otherwise...You ****boys hate Danny Garcia that much that even a fight that could've went either way is considered a beating..Run time brought them track shoes after the fourth rd
Garcia wasn't active enough. He wanted to work the body but thurman was the one that did the better body work. Easy fight to score.
he would get stretched-out like a used rubber
not a good look for the future President of the Philippines
Pac refused to fight old Cotto at 150, the weight killed the fight
no way he even looks at Canelo, Roach is talking sh1t
Everytime i say damn i think this guy is too big for pac, or damn think pac is in way over his head on this one, he surprises me and finds a way to win. On the other hand pac is gonna get hit in his fights and a big shot fron nelo and it might be lights out. Still an intriguing fight.
