There’s been plenty of back-and-forth between former junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia and current junior welterweight champion Terence Crawford, as well as between Crawford and the 147-pound titleholder’s father/trainer, Angel.
But the exchanges are pointless right now, according to Danny.
“I can’t even worry about him,” Garcia said after his win over Samuel Vargas this past Saturday, which allowed him to shake off rust ahead of his March fight with Keith Thurman.
“Talking about him is irrelevant. He’s fighting his fight. I got a big fight coming up. He ain’t nothing I never fought before. To talk about him is irrelevant. He’s doing his thing over there on HBO. I’m doing my thing over here, making big fights with PBC. Garcia-Thurman, March 4, and that’s all I care about.”
“He want exposure,” Angel interjected. “The more we talk about him, the more views he get. He not living off of us.”
Crawford will return to the ring next month, when he defends his titles against Garcia's Premier Boxing Champions stablemate John Molina on December 10 in Omaha.
