roy jones was by far the most talented fighter as he showed when beating hopkins. however, bernard has built a legacy bigger than jones by beating better names, de la hoya, trinidad, pavlik, tarver etc. jones' best win is over james toney 15 years ago, although had one fight at heavyweight against a c level fighter john ruiz. add to that roy's 3 ko losses to bernard's 0 then hopkins will be ranked higher in years to come. hopkins is probably one of the three best middleweights of all time considering his career at the weight.
And deservedly lost fans.
I have yet to see anyone support Haye's performance in this thread who isn't British.
Haye had gathered quite a few American fans who have never liked the Klitschko's when he started with his brash brand of trash talk.
Now that he has ducked them both and put on the worst heavyweight title fight of the decade he has lost the majority of them and is left with the same thing he had in the first place; A handful of British fans who will support anything he says or does. Or, as in the case of the Valuev fight, the things he says he will do, and then doesn't do.
haye now has a fan base all over the world, and i know for a fact that haye will be on hbo. he is the complete package that the division needs.
pacquiao
watch floyds fight with zab judah. in the early rounds judah was able to catch him with his quick southpaw left. pacquiao throws his left from all angles with speed and power which is beyond judah. he is relentless and will knock pretty boy floyd out violently i believe.:frown:
potentially a great fight. maybe frank warren wants bradley because he doesn't hit so hard, but i think it would be an action packed fight because of both guys work rate. khan posseses the quicker hands no doubt, and is improving with every fight he has with freddie roach. bradley is coming off three great wins and is also improving. this is one of many fights that can be made in an increasingly talented division. maybe khan gets an exciting points victory.
like i said, pacquiao will catch floyd with the left hand. of course he is open to the right hand of floyd, but if he takes the shots like he took cotto's then it will be a long night for mayweather.
floyd wants to fight at his tempo and he's had problems with guys that change the pace like castillo and hatton. manny throws a lot of shots and floyd will be forced to fight and throw more punches than he normally does. hence, being drawn into a brawl he will be fighting pacquiao's fight and will lose. if floyd somehow reduces pacquiao's punch output through making him miss and surgically break him down, then floyd will be recognised as a great champion, no arguments. pac in 10.
don't make me laugh...you can't compare hopkins to ali or foreman no way no how...
a natural lightheavy who only fought and beat one natural lightheavy.....in 20 years...that doesn't even qualify for atg...atg boxer/conartist maybe
hopkins made the middleweight limit for ten years so he wasnt a natural light heavyweight was he?
haye vs klitschko
kevin johnson was quick in defense and made vitali look slow and cumbersome. maybe fathertime is catching up to the 38 year old and the hayemaker will catch him at the right time.
is it me or has vitali seemed to have slowed down? maybe it was johnson's defense that made him look clumsy at times, but i think on that showing david haye has a chance. it could be that he catches him at the right time and beats him before odlanier solis does.
