Like Monzon,Duran,Chavez,Hagler,Tyson,Dempsey,Patterson,Joe Louis,Marciano,Frazier??
Even Robinson wasn't slick in my opinion...
This word "slick" is kinda like a myth,I prefer terms like skilled, fast, mobile fighters...elusive...
Would you consider them swammers? The type of style that has giving slick fighters trouble
Who was fighting at 135 when Mosley was fighting there? An did you see his his KO percentage when he was at lightweight..Say what you will but I'll always say this Mosley was one of the best LW in the history of boxing..
Mosley was a beast at LW. Just sucked that he had a local CA promoter for his first 20 something fights. Once he got with Cedric Kushner. He gave Mosley the fights. Fighters like Stevie Johnston didn't want Mosley. Ivan Robinson backed out of 2 fights. Israel Cardona backed out of a fight with Mosley. Cesar Bazan backed out of Mosley fight. All ranked fighters at 135 when Mosley was a LW.
Duran and Whitaker were better LW's. But Mosley was a beast to. To be honest I don't think a lot of people seen Mosley at LW. After the Forrest L. Mosley wasn't the same fighter anymore. You could tell that his confidence was gone.
Floyd was a beast to at the lowers weights. The fight would've better than the one last May. A confident Mosley vs a confident Floyd. That's a great fight
Shane threw a lot more combos in his prime. Wasn't flat footed, and more importantly he had confidence. A way better fight then the one we saw last May. Even Floyd Sr said that on the 24/7 overtime
I have his career set. The fights that I feel he showed the most skill were his championship winning fight against Baek. Also his fight against Beasley was great to watch. He probably had one of the best straight lefts in the last 15 years.
Prime mosley was strugling with Wilredo Rivera and was losing the fight.
Tito was a execelent counterpuncher, great jab and ridiculous power. Mosley gets chop down and KTFO by Tito
He wasn't losing the Rivera fight. Come on Champ. Rivera gave him some problems. Nothing wrong with that. First fight at 147 because he jumped from LW. Rivera wasn't a bad fighter either.
I don't see Tito knocking out or beating Mosley.
Mosley was also a good counter puncher in his prime
I hate how fans of the sport forget what guys like Mosley do early in their career because of what happened late in their career
some people are forgetting a prime roy,,, worlds coming to an end!!
I told the cats in a Floyd thread yesterday. That a lot of people never seen a prime Mosley. He looked way better than the one that fought last May. Vernon Forrest took away his confidence. His career has been up and down since
Besides Mosley getting dropped against Forrest. He has never been hurt in his career. His chin is legit. If he trades with Tito. Which I don't think he would. He would probably win those exchanges because of his speed.
I don't see Tito knocking out or beating Shane. Just don't
To bad the fight didn't happen
Mosley had better footwork. Threw more combos in his prime. Was good at getting in and out. His power was legot to. Also he was a very confident fighter. I love Tito, but I don't see him winning at all.
I'm a huge Dawson fan. But he has nobody to blame but himself. I just can't think of any elite fighter in history of the sport that lacked the fire to be a killer. Even soft punchers like Winky and Sweet Pea were aggresive
I know Chad can make adjustments in the rematch. But he needs to be a killer to do that
There's not many fighters that can fight in the inside period. It's a lost art
Duran, Whitaker, and Hop were great at it. Ward seems like he can do it. But I agree, it's a lost art
The man in your sig killed Mosley's confidence in his skills.
You're right. After Forrest beat him. Shane wasn't the same fighter. Anyone who watched Shane before those 2 fights and after the 2 Forrest fights will know the difference
I'm a bigger Mosley fan than Forrest
Mosley 99-01 had great footwork, speed, and also threw a lot of combinations. He was a nasty ass body banger to. Was very confident with his skills. Don't see Pac or Floyd beating him at that time
My bad champ
Teddy Atlas was being interviewed and basically
1. Arum could be lying because of his famous quote "I lied yesterday and I'm telling the truth today"
2. Mayweather might not be in a rush to fight Pac
3. Might be worried of Pac because he suspects he is on PED's
4. Floyd might just be worried about Pac as a fighter. Then he says "which he should be"
5. Mayweather likes fights to come to him, not the other way around
6. Said something about Floyd being a defensive fighter. Think he said most defensive fighters don't like the fight to come to him
It was real quick. So I might be wrong on the last one. But it was something like that
Both fights my man. If Cloud looks great against Johnson. That means a fight with Dawson needs to happen. Even a fight with Pascal if he beats Dawson makes sense. I like Alexander a lot as a fighter
