Sakio bika disqualified for hitting opponent when down

Bika is the only guy that would beat Abraham in a slugfest...

I heard the disqualification was only official when Bika's wife showed up ringside.

Bute already beat Bika, but I agree, he would make it more interesting than Mendy. He's gotten stronger and more power in his punches in the last few years. Him and his team are destroying would could be a good career, he could've fought Brinkley in an IBF eliminator and turned it down. Now he ruins another eliminator with this. bika could have fought allan green as well for a spot in the super 6. but he turned that fight down for who knows why.

not really..AA didnt knock Dirrell down but Bika had the guy down with a legal blow then followed up with that stupid punch...didnt have to do it at all..would have won the RD with 10-8 .Now the other guy Mendy won the eliminator and stand no chance in my opinion against the champion, Bute. So it will be Bute vs. Mendy. Bika has always been a dirty fighter, I remember his deliberate head butts against Calzaghe. And he doesn't need to do it, he's very good. Yeah! That was the only fight Calzaghe was cut I think. He is a lot better than people respect. I remember saying a couple years back he'd beat Miranda and people weren't having it, but people don't realise how strong he is.

Watcing the reply, when the camera angle was showing the ref at the back of Bika, it seems Joe Cortez was waiting for Bika to do somehing when the opponent was on 1 knee. It was like 2 seconds and Cortez could have shouted to Bika to stop or hold into one of Bika's arms just to show him that there will be a count cuz of the knockdown before the illegal punch.

You really think so? He did pause and throw but I just think he was caught in the moment and since he didn't see his man completely hit the canvas he threw. I think so, man. He must have saw him on the canvas, that hook he hit him with was damaging and his opponent dropped to Bika's waist. Bika paused and looked for a shot, searching for Mendy's head. I like Bika, but that's how I read it. Yeah it's not horrible intent, I'm going to really hurt you kind of things. It's survival, rush of blood to end the fight as quickly as possible.

It was only half similar to AA-Dirrell. AA punch = Bika punch, true Mendy truly KTFO != Dirrell fake acting job KTFO

It is just like the Abraham Dirrell incident. Whether by split second calculation or not, it is survival instincts, both Abe and Bika took an opportunity for a cheap shot and gambled.

Dirrell should study this fight so that next time he fakes being KTFO he can do a more convincing job.

That sucks man because he was in the adrenaline rush with combos and he let that one last punch go. But it seems like the punch that hurt Mendy in the first place was a hard shot that landed right to the back of his head.

The disqualification was due to hitting an opponent when down. Dirrell had a knee on the floor and Arthur was looking at him and then hit him. Bika's opponent had a knee on the floor and Bika was looking at him and then hit him. Because they couldn't continue, Bika and Arthur were disqualified. Pretty much in the same manner.
