I know this wont matta much, but Cotto's chin is good compared to Hatton's. Hatton has been down, Cotto has only been rocked.
Cotto by brutal KO.
Although I am not 100% sure Hatton would win the fight I certainly can't see how you guys can use their punch resistance to favour Cotto. Hatton has only ever had a flash knockdown, he never even looked remotely hurt and it was against a top 10 fighter and renowned counter puncher. He also took some really heavy shots from Tszyu and did little more than bat his eyelids. Cotto was close to the brink and was rocked all over the place by a man much lighter than him. If it hadn't had been for the ref it may have been his first loss.
With this evidence how the hell can you suggest it favours Cotto? It just doesn't compute.
WellI voted for Hatton on points although I don't think that will be the real outcome. It's just wishfull thinking (although KO would be a lot better)
I see it happening in one of the following ways;
KT early with a big power shot, perhaps the left hand this time against a regular stance fighter.
KT 6-7 after beating on a game but overly brave RH all night and it getting painful to watch.
RH 8 with a vicious bodyshot barage after a systematic madman break down of KT body
RH points. Close but ground out victory.
I have to say Hatton is the linear champ and therefore he is king even if he is still relatively unproven. I think he needs to beat the Mayweather/Gatti winner and Cotto to put it beyond any doubt.
PS. I didn't leave Harris out by accident.
I watched it live and have to say that Hatton didn't look at drained as he does in the pictures. He also looked a lot more confident and relaxed than he did at the press conference.
I was surprised by Tszyu hainv got take 30 mins to drop the 3 ounces and surprised he was over in the first place. I don't think it will have that much affect but with all his preperation I thought he would be spot on.
I am SOOOOOOOO happy he won but I don't think Hatton fought very well for by his standards. He can be a lot more elusive when he want to be and has much better movement. Somehow he knew from the first bell that he take his power all night.
Magical.
Actually at the time Bruno came out on top in that test. They were using it in the UK to promote Bruno's chances. He was, aparently, at that time the hardest puncher in the game. No good if you turn up, shit yourself and go into your shell. Shame lots of potential but no killer instinct.
Lewis Vs Michael Grant
Horrible. He has hold of his head and his necks snaps violently. Grant also took another filthy beating a couple of years later but I can't remember the opponent.
Is the mercer vs. morrison the one where he's out already and he takes a run up and volleys him onto the judges table? Not pleasant.
Well I have to say that I am looking forward to the Maccarinelli fight, not that I think he is a true prospect but just because his hands must weigh about as much as a four door car. So he is exciting to watch. However he tends to flail around with his hands low so I can't wait for someone to punish him for it.
Alexander was an exciting fighter but is past it and missed his opportunity to shine. Which is a shame. He could have challenged (and probably been beaten) for a world title. He fights are normally fun to watch though.
Barnes can be quite good fun to watch but I don't see th ebirghtest future for him.
So all in all probably fun to watch but nothing you'll be talking about in two weeks.

I was watching the Kelly fight earlier on this very day (another coincidence)and the second time he knocks Kelly down the punch deosn't even make sense. Where the hell does the power come from? He's just breaking all the rules.
I really respect Sugar Ray but I have to take this with a grain of salt. He does come over to the UK and is a very good self promoter. I think he is doing a bit of a Pele. Everytime Pele gets of a plane in a new country he announces they are good enough to win the World Cup (of soccer before you ask)
However I do hope he's right.
Wow that one hell of a list. I would definitely put Cotto higher and Sturm a lot lower but I find it hysterical that a heaveyweight "champ" only gets in at 61! Ha ha!!
And if you ran the same night over and over again with the exact same circumstances your certain to get different results. Thats the joy of boxing, you just can never be sure.
guys dont forget... as tough as they seem they have lives outside of boxing, wives kids, should he risk that for you to respect him?
Well said that man. He gave a mammouth amount to boxing over decade. It's only fair he gets to take something back out.
I thought he fought courageously. Why should he ruing the rest of his life like so many other boxers have done? He'll be thankful he made that decision for the rest of his life. Much respect!
I really hope the fight goes into the later rounds. Partly because I think that is when Hatton has his best chance but mainly because I want to see how Tsyzu will react. Will the old legs fail him?
It still guts me that he never reached his potential. He had soooo much talent and potential but he lost it when he got his brothers involved in his business management and dropped his trainer Brendan Ingle. I have no idea where all that power came from, he could have his feet off the ground, be at full stretch and pull a little hook that knocks a fighter off his boots. I weirdly and quite literally bumped into him twice in one week, once outside spar and once outside KFC (He was actually a really nice guy despite me knocking his shopping from his hands.) He was TINY though, you would never of guessed about his power.
So I would put him up against anyone on your list and give him a great chance of beating them. However I think he was mentally gone after barrera.
I am shitting myself excited. I am really gutted about not managing to get tickets. They went in half a bloody hour! I had some on screen to buy but my mate was buggering about and wanting to be tight and get cheaper seats. Waited to long and they went to someone else. GUTTING.
Well I was less impressed with Harrison this fight. I know he thought he could just walk through brodie but he won't be able to do that with everyone and I think he should have boxed him more. He just got hit too many times. Brodie is a quality operator but Harrison should hopefully be fighting the best in the world soon and they are going make him regret not practicing his boxing skills, he's going to need them at some point and they may fail him.
Brodie has a lot of heart and skill and it is a shame to lose him. Glad to see he didn't get to beaten up though.

PS. I agree that he was beaten at the end of the previous round.
I still like Forrest. He really did show his class against Mosley but despite the long injury lay-off I think he really need to put in a couple of performances soon to keep me thinking that way.
Although with all the charity work he does for that home he'll always be a champ.
the opponent was dominick guinn it was un the gatti vs. ward 3 undecard and it was a bad beating he took.
Ahh yeah that was it. He took a pasting leant back on the ropes. Ugly.
I think it was a massive waste him quitting. He was an amazingly talented boxer and could have been legend. He should have never left Ingle's gym and got 5000 times to big for his boots. He should have gone back with his tale between his legs after the barrera loss and started again and learnt form the master class. Then again I was at his comeback fight and it was pretty damn awful. Perhaps the barrera loss damaged him too much.
