There's no way Ortiz is the age he says he is. I'm pretty sure that his countrymen Yoel Romero said he's 42. However, both Ortiz and Povetkin are solid wins on anyone's résumé. Although I'd rate Povetkin higher, having the better pedigree.
Who is this guy Dmitry Pirog? before the Jacobs fight, and win the title was unknown. a rate of 29 years so I have understood, was not part of the Russian Olympic team or win anything important in amateur stage. If anyone knows the history of this type I'm interested to know
He had over 230 amateur fights, winning several Russian National Amateur Championships.
Boom.
Wow, mixed emotions here or what?
I don't condone or agree with some of stuff hopkins has said......
but despite what people think of him, there's something there that I can't help but admire.
A scumbag? I dunno, a racist? Maybe. Last of the old school boxing fraternity, quite possibly. Exciting fighter? I'd say no. Effective, very. ATG. Definately.
There's just something there I can't quite put my finger on.
I want to get excited for this but I know Haye is going to be too scared to engage Wlad and will try to run around the ring and potshot making the fight boring while it lasts.
When he does get hit he's gonna start looking for an easy way out. Will probably take a 10 count on a grazing punch. He will go down like a *****, intentionally mistime the count, and jump up at the count of 10 acting like the ref screwed him.
Mate, what do you expect, Wlad is a mountain of a man. This is boxing not street fighting. Tactics are almost everything. Of course Haye's going to be on the move, he has to play to his advantages, just like Wlad will play to his.
And Haye........making it boring.............................?
Have you even seen Wlad fight bruv?

:luvbed:
That's Haroon Khan mate. I think Wazza has only got eyes for Amir.
As much as I think this fight is a joke, with Audley being the most delusional HW to grace the division in years, he looks deadly serious this time. I have never seen Audley like this before in his whole career, in his mind he's completely convinced it's his destiny to beat Haye. I'm a little worried for Haye coming in so light to, giving away 3 stone, this could be dangerous for him if the fight gets to the later rounds. Having said that, I think Haye should win inside 4 rounds, he's looking for an early Kayo.
Definately. I think Haye will blitz Harrison from the off.
Can you all believe this lying coward? He said himself that it was a joke fight before he decided to fight him. Do Brits have selective amnesia?
It's just that no one really cares tbh mate. Harrison is a joke. Everyone knows it, but he does have a punchers chance.
With that said, it should be an exciting fight, more than I can say about any of recent Klitschko performances. It's been built up quite a bit in the UK, it doesn't add much to his legacy, but does add a couple of quid to his bank balance.
And why not? He is a prizefighter after all.
The Klitschko fight will happen next year, slag Haye off all you want until then.
I always hear this argument from the Haye defenders "well.. but it does add a couple of quid to his bank balance..." as the only defense for this fight, from regular Brit fans like yourself to boxing pundits like Bunce. Are you all Haye's accountants or somehow benefiting from his increased bank account balance or are you all boxing fans? Why are you defending his blatant ducking of the Kltischkos for 2+ years and implicitly condoning this behavior by buying these awful fights? If you all didn't support him financially, maybe he would have already fought a Kltischko by now.
Haye will never fight a Klitschko, I repeat, NEVER. He will retire next year laughing at all you suckers. He called the Kltischkos out to get more exposure for himself, he never intended to go through with it.
I think he will, you think he won't. Fair play mate.
I can live with that.
End of.
Haye's all about the money, that's why he took the Audrey fight. He isn't going to pass on a massive payday with one of the Klits, he's squeezing the most he can get that's all.
It's his career, put yourself in his shoes, if you've set a retirement date you'll want to earn as much money as possible before then. It makes financial sense. That's the only way Mayweather fights. People forget Haye fought Mormeck for a lesser deal, in his backyard for the glory and won. Unified the cruiserweight titles, now the WBA champion at heavyweight, a genuine challenge for the K bros, so why should he sell himself short and take the lesser deal?
I have no doubt with him getting past Harrison he'll fight Wlad Klitschko, just because as Wlad is struggling to find viable opponents, so is he.
Everyone's freaking out about Khan's weight! He's got months to lose any timber he's carrying! Come fight night he'll be in prime condition and everyone knows it. Relax lads.

Nishioka really impressed me in his last fight against Munroe, looked very well rounded, like a real world champion.
Haven't managed to watch Hasegawa'a lastest fight, but from all accounts looked good at the higher weight.
But since they'll be fighting 2 divisions apart I don't see this manifesting from a fantasy fight.
WAR PAULIE!!!
TEar that mofo up!!! Just like Diaz..
Apart from Khan is nothing like Diaz. Has more speed, power and I'll put 100k on Khan winning decisively. More likey by TKO than UD.
Meh, he's being a bit emotional. He's always had a chip on his shoulder regarding Floyd. He's saying Floyd isn't greater than Ali because Floyd can't take his kids to school by himself? What does that even mean? I mean seriously man.
I think he's saying the greatest fighter of all time should be loved and respected by the people, not afraid of them.
It's safe to say that times have changed, and that realistically there would be danger in taking his kids to school personally.
I guess historically, greatness in boxing isn't measured in monetary gain, PPV numbers or a perfect record.
If he wasn't so caught up in these aspects of the sport, would 'the people' interested in his lifestyle and possible exploitative opportunities?
