maybe bc they had the judges paid off plus all the ricans chearing when nothing is landed. In mexico alot of the times when a fighter is robbed or is a close fight people at least boo the decision here they cheared this bull sht decision.
That actually pissed me off, I am not about to make generalizations about Puerto Rico but that was complete bull****. When Chavez fought Vera, the crowd was extremely pro Chavez at first but by the end of the fight when the robbery was announced they let him have it. During the Burns v. Beltran fight, the crowd also voiced their disapproval when their fighter was given the win in the form of a robbery. What fight were the Puerto Ricans watching?
I think you are basing this observation, on the Kovalev-Agnew thread from yesterday, which was unfortunately invaded by racists.
I think most people want to see the fight, because it's a classic puncher vs puncher fight. At least that's the reason I originally wanted to see it. Now I would like to see Stevenson getting his ass beat because he is ducking. I don't want to call a boxer a coward, but why does he finally starts talking **** when he is safe in another network and the fight can't happen?
I am huge Chino fan (saw him beat the **** out of Broner live at SA), but even with his improved physique, I don't think he stands a chance. All I want is for Maidana to never relent, unlike most boxers that Mayweather fights I hope he fights until the last second. If he gets knocked out, he gets knocked out.
This guy isn't 5'5 155 with 9% body fat. He's got 18%.
I kind of agree with this. Either he is one of those guys with a very wide build (Tyson esque) or he could stand to lose a few pounds.
lol floyd being the executive producer means this all access will be full of mayweather a.ss kissing..
What I wonder is if he somehow got his hands on that crappy "The Moment" promo, which is one of the worst ****ing promos I have ever seen. One section of the promo consists of a still of Mayweather sitting on a throne as the words "exciting", "patriot", etc, are being flashed across the screen.
That was vs the little guys. He says he wanna go all the way up to 140? Good luck. It's gonna be non existent.

This, the first fight I saw him (in network tv no less) he was beating the brakes out of a guy around his size but he wasn't able to take him out. In his next two fights, he fought two little guys and knocked them both out pretty quickly. I remember thinking that he looked twice the size of both guys.
Some are very good(Provo vs Alvarado, Martinez vs Chavez), but most suck. They are only good when the fighters are genuine and have some personal animosity towards each other.
Pac-Marquez 4
Pacquiao is dead lol
I never thought to see people's reactions of the knockout, video was hilarious.
All credit to Manny for making fights exciting.
It's the best Golden Boy can do, unless Alvarez moves up. A protected paper champion vs a non top 10, unproven but exciting puncher.
I think a match between him and Stevens could also be interesting.
I am not pissed about the outcome(except for the ridiculous scorecards), it was a close fight. But did Mayweather seriously end up making Maidana wear alternative gloves? That is complete bull****.
All my respect to Maidana who never stopped punching, and showed tremendous heart and determination.
I was very happy to see Curtis win, I hate seeing fighters getting psychologically destroyed after tough fights. To be fair, Majewski is not exactly top tier but we often see good/decent fighters lose to crap fighters after a tough fight.
To think Golovkin took some of this Stevens shots like they were nothing, but then again he was one of the biggest heads I have ever seen. He dropped Majewski with a freaking jab.
I would like to see this fight happen, and I would also be rooting for Stevens (I thought Quillin got really ****ing lucky with Rosado). He definitely has the power to take Quillin out, but Quillin hits hard too and I think his height and reach would give him a big advantage. Stevens fights like a savage when he can't get the early ko and that would be a bad thing, as it could lead to him getting picked off by Quillin who seems to be the better boxer.
Still I would be rooting for Stevens to knock Quillin out.
Went the way I expected but to be honest it was a little sad to watch. Martinez looked like a shell of his former self, and I can't help but wonder if the Martinez that fought Chavez would have done better. Knees looked like ****.
Still credit to Cotto, fought the fight he needed to fight and looked great. Hopefully Canelo gets past Lara so we can see Canelo vs Cotto.
Quillin and Jacobs can rotate rounds vs GGG in one fight and I think he would knock both of them out :lol1:
This lol, I actually thought for a second that Jacobs' size would give him a chance against GGG, but now that I know that his chin is horrible(Mora of all people had him hurt bad) I think Golovkin knocks him out with a jab.
I can't argue with you, I notice that boxing is a lot less popular than before in the US, and to be honest I don't mind that much as long as there is still boxing to watch. I like watching European fighters enough(Froch being one of my favorites), and the crowds are awesome; you can tell they really like Boxing over there, but I think that is a consequence of their fighters generally being more action-oriented. Some people don't think this matters but try having a fight party and getting your friends to admire the "amazing footwork" of a fighter and see if those people ever return to watch boxing again.
I care little if we get "ran out of boxing", as long as boxing lives on. Most American fighters at the moment are too selfish on the ring for me to care for them, what's happened since the 80s when we had great warriors who were willing to make fights exciting? Although there are a few interesting prospects out there.
At the Alamodome, almost damn near everyone was rooting for Maidana. That first knockdown riled everyone up and I was swept up in the atmosphere as well. Surreal night, definitely worth the drive up to San Antonio.
That first knockdown was glorious, the alamadome went crazy, and I as well soon after(I was rooting for Maidana with so much fervor that my throat hurt later). The memory of seeing Broner get knocked the **** down a few meters from me will stay with me for a long time. The undercard was pretty good but I didn't really feel the atmosphere after the first knockdown, damn near everyone wanted Broner to see his ass get kicked, brought us as all together lol.
I can't think of many off the top of my head but here are a few:
Golovkin vs Quillin
Golovkin vs Chavez
Danny Garcia vs Broner
Danny Garcia vs Broner
Mathysse vs Broner
Thurman vs Broner
Shawn Porter vs Broner (Yes I would love to see Broner's ass get kicked again)
Thurman vs Maidana (I am a huge fan of both guys so I wouldn't like to see either lose, but it would be a great fight)
Mayweather vs Lara
Kovalev vs Stevenson
Curtis Stevens vs Quillin
Canelo vs Lara
Cotto vs Canelo
Provodnikov vs Marquez
Provodnikov vs Rios
Provodnikov vs Thurman
Stevens fought on after the knockdown, regardless of what people's impressions of the fight were. After the knockdown he did shell up, but still tried to and succeeded in landing some good shots on GGG and made him back up a few times. I became a fan of the little guy after the fight, he has a good chin, tons of heart, and punches quite hard.
That being said, he will probably never be the same after this loss. He came to win and the fact that he didn't really hurt Golovkin during the whole fight will make him doubt his own power and the bludgeoning he received will probably make him more cautious or fearful in future fights.
However, if he takes the loss well and is motivated for his next fight, I think he could give hell to most if not all top middleweights.
As soon as I heard 98-92 I knew they were going to rob Vera. I was so ****ing upset when I heard Chavez's name, but at least the people (except for total ****ing idiots) know who won the fight and I am sure Vera gained new fans.
Sometimes I just hate boxing.
This was a pretty good fight, and I give major props to Stevenson. He is tough and I think he would give many top middleweights hell. That being said I think this fight might have taken a lot out of him and he might never be the same (some of the body shots he took made me cringe). Still I will be rooting for the little guy if he fights again.
Golovkin's didn't look great tonight but he still beat the crap out of Stevenson, and proved he has a good chin.
After watching that face off I became an instant fan, his honesty and warrior attitude is just badass.
That being said I don't see him beating Alvarado, Provodnikov is too much of a warrior for his own good, brawls too much and against Bradley (a soft puncher) that might have gave him some success but Alvarado is a much better puncher than Bradley.
First fight I attended, it was completely worth it in every way. Thurman was beasting, and Broner got his mouth shut the hard way. Loved the atmosphere! Bonded with the people around me, who wanted Broner to get destroyed as well.
the plan was to waste hundreds of millions of dollars and get off to a terrible start and then make good fights?
I agree, its not like they have been building up to anything in the last few years, the PBC brand is at the lowest it has ever been. Hopefully it goes well but it might be too late at this point.
He did look nervous maybe even a little afraid, but I don't place a lot of stock on these staredowns. A lot of the times the guys who look nervous win.
