Trust me when I say that come fight night, both of these beasts will come battle ready and in prime shape. The advantages I see for Cotto, are his ability to adjust to speed prone fighters (Mosely, Paulie, Judah, etc), his chin, which has definitely been tested, and his body punching. The advantages I see for Manny, are his speed, his unpredictable punching style (he can throw from any angle and land), his work rate (he might try to overwhelm Cotto, neutralizing his attacks) and his accuracy. The disadvantages I see for Cotto, are his defense (prone to uppercuts especially), his stamina (he's gotten tired a lot quicker in the latter rounds than he used to, and if Manny's gonna up the volume, Miguel's gonna be evading for many rounds, and that's tiring), and that nasty cut above his left eye, which will probably be Manny's Main Target. The disadvantages I see for Manny, are his defense (he forsakes good defense for good offense, which with a puncher like Cotto, can be a fatal flaw), his aggression level (when he gets clocked with a good one, he becomes overly aggressive and opens wide up, which can invite a nasty body or head shot), and, even though he's accurate at any angle, his style is unorthodox in the sense that he throws punches in bunches while leaving himself wide open.
In the end, it'll be a great fight, and being a fan of both boxers, I hope the better man wins, and either one of them losing to one another has no shame in the game. They lost against a great champion. It's a win win for everyone. Nuff said. :beerchug:
Cotto's only real chance is to time Manny coming in and send him a body shot.Cotto cannot out-speed him and he has been out from a bodyshot before (ok,a long time ago). Though Miguel has a punchers chance-do not be fooled by the facade of this fight-Miguel is spent and does not have the formula to beat Manny-remember STYLES make fights. Manny will be WAY too quick and will dish out heavy punishment.Im sure of at least a stoppage by Cotto's corner,if not a tko/ko.
