He is capable of beating Pacquiao considering his strength and size advantage over Pacquiao. But if Manny is 100% in the fight, his superior skills will be the key in frustrating Cotto...
where in the PI are you going? dont forget to try a balut :lol1:
Lol. I tried one once. It really, really surprised me, especially since my girl didn't tell me what was in the egg. lol:pat:
LOL! What do you know about Cebu and Samar?

ok heres a scenario, Miguel Cotto comes in to the fight with a 10 pound (at least) weight advantage if he weighs the same as the clottey fight. Pac is blindingly fast with his hands but to say he has better boxing and footwork skills than cotto is crazy. Cotto has one of the most impressive amatuer backgrounds in p.r. and thats saying a lot with all the great fighters that come from the island. Not to mention his stellar professional career. All of this makes cotto the more complete fighter. Hell manny just learned to punch with 2 hands. So all in all you have cotto as the more experienced fighter even though he is younger, he is strongerthan pac and will have the weight advantage not to mention he will be banging jww pac with 8 oz gloves. Cotto showed he can handle speed and power from bigger fighters, Pac is the one who has to answer that question.
I kind of see it your way, but it would be a crazy if Pac could hurt Cotto. I really doubt it though!!!
And you really believe Cotto has good enough counter punching skills and timing to beat Manny? I don't think so. He didn't have good enough skills to evade or beat a pressure fighter who stands in front of him throwing slow punches.
Look,I would want Cotto to prove me wrong,so Bob Arum can STFU,but I don't see it happening.Perhaps you can explain some scenarios for me to look out for in this fight that I haven't already thought of....???

I have posted quite a few times on why i think Cotto might win this fight, and I'm not going to repeat myself in this thread. But the more time goes on, the more i see from both of them, what they are doing, watching their respective evolution into the great fighters they are now, i used to have it (my opinion), about 51/49 cotto. but i have it tilted a bit more in Cotto's favour lately, now..like 55/45. I voted Cotto, Hellz yes! but a Manny victory is very possible.
Manny is my 2nd fav boxer and i have much respect for him and his accomplishments, and LOVE watching him fight, almost as much as Cotto. That killer instinct, his finishing power when he smells blood, his speed and power, and the man has heart. But so does Cotto. He's a smart boxer-puncher-brawler that can time well and has a nice talent for cutting off the ring. They are both studying each other on past fights.
But like has been said here many times, styles make fights, and both are preparing for each other styles, but what we will see in the ring, i think, weill be a bit different than both fighters past fight styles, and I find it absolutley fascinating to see how both fighter will have spent their time studying each others attributes and flaws, and making adjustments in real time before our eyeballs, which will be popping out of their sockets for anyone excited about this fight.
To be fair and completely objective, i think both guys have a pretty equal chance to win, but my opinion has Cotto to win cuz Manny is stepping into Cotto back yard, not vice versa. and there are quite a few non-Cotto fans (just nuetral) that say Cotto should be able to win this fight and has more to lose than Manny.
I think if Cotto does lose, he can still hold his head up high, cuz he's a warrior. And there's no shame in losing to the p4p best there is. Plus he's making a fortune, and on top of that, i think he will be more popular and will still get a couple mega-fights because he went up against the best, (p4p). Good luck to both guys and hope we get a good clean, fair fight, no fight inhibiting cuts, (no bullshit robberies if goes to decision), and nobody gets seriously hurt, cuz both these guys can seriously hurt someone.
Ok, so i did repeat myslef...lol. Excellent thread and vid, D!
Great Post Homie.

This fight is a tough one to call for me, because I'd think that Cotto is ridiculously determined to banish the ghost of Margo and the fact that people are doubting him, plus he won't underestimate Manny like Ricky Hatton did, so he won't go in there thinking "this guy can't hurt me".
But Manny is on such a roll that he has an aura about him similar to Mayweather in that they are the most dangerous opponents out there in these weight classes, which means that you just feel that Manny is destined to win and a Floyd-Manny match up being the result. But you never know.
Dude it is the title of the video that I found on Youtube!!! I guess the author meant...the one to beat Pac now.
No he can't, theres only 1 or 2 fighters who can beat Pacquiao, he's that fukkin good
What a retarded thread title D.
Pacquiao's already lost, more than once.
You make it sound as if he's undefeated.

its the tourist hot spot in the PI. you can go to plantation bay in cebu, believe me, its paradise :cool2:
Coo..thanks man! Looking forward to eating balut with you. :puke:
yea i do believe cotto has good enough skills and timing to beat pacman!!its not like cotto hasnt been threw anything that pacman will bring to him because if anybody is not gonna be the same fighter he's potrayed as when the fight gets going is gonna be pacman!!U are crazy to think pacman is going to pressure cotto!!!its not going to happen!!your boy freddie roach said he wont go blow for blow with cotto!!he's going to try to outbox him and i find that hard to believe because cotto is a very good boxer!!!but we'll see and i'll put you on blast when cotto's victorious!!
Are you actually READING my response or skimming through it?
Im NOT saying Manny is a pressure fighter-im saying if Cotto could not capitalize on someone standing directly in front of him,how will he fair against someone who moves all over the place? He is going to have problems adjusting.
Now,as far as you saying Cotto has been in with better or similar fighters-name them. This will be Cotto's toughest fight and ALL the pressure is on him to beat the smaller guy (I myself, don't confuse smaller with slower, weaker, or inferior however).Style-wise, I would guarantee that Manny has been against better.
And you really believe Cotto has good enough counter punching skills and timing to beat Manny? I don't think so. He didn't have good enough skills to evade or beat a pressure fighter who stands in front of him throwing slow punches.
