You should read it. This guy only posts once a year so it's gotta be a gem
One of you got 3000 more post and the other 800 more post and we are basically dead even on rep power....hmmmmmmm
That's a reach. There's a lot (A LOT) of solid names. Just because they aren't a bunch of Floyds, now they're all trash??
My point is I'm not comparing them to Floyd the point I'm making is the so called names in the division, Thurman Garcia, porter etc, are living off Floyd fighting in the ww division and they don't have the talent to match they're publicity you feel me take Thurman vs Garcia, they fought like they were scared of each(which I don't think they were)but because they are so called at the top of the division fans are acting like these fighters are good, I personally say this crop of fighters in the ww division are (OK)at best.I think when Crawford eventually moves up he will bring some credibility to the division. For example the Porter fight was horrible to watch but this is a fighter who is considered a top welterweight and he simply can't box,but because the division is so overrated he can actually become the top dog in this overrated division just but out wrestling his opponents this is not skillful boxing. Like I said before Spence is the only legit ww in the division but for him to have some real competition he needs to move to 154 for some real challenges
How are they living off Floyd's name when he never fought them? He avoided them at all costs. Chose Berto as #49 and McGregor will be 50. Not Thurman, Garcia, Porter, Brook or Spence, but Berto and McGregor.
If you want to start another cheer leading thread for Floyd just say so. No need to marginalize the current crop of WWs who he refuses to fight. Not their fault he only fights B-rate opponents and faded elites.
Dude your totally missing my point regardless of how Floyd performed or who he fought he brought a spotlight on the ww division, and therefore these fighters wanna be competing at 147 not 140 or 154. Take for example Broner fighting at 147 and he should be fighting at 135-140 Pacquiao same way,Garcia should be at 140,Porter and Brook and Spence should be at 154 but since Floyd competed at 147 and made a ton of money regardless of who he fought, these fighters think that 147 is the division to compete in and from a monetary perspective it is but from a skill and talent perspective alot of these fighters shouldn'tbe in the welterweight division, now Crawford is a guy who should be competing at 147.Understand this I'm not trying to compare fighters to Floyd I'm just using his retirement as a starting point for when the division became overrated
That's why Floyd will never hurt Conor. Conor has ZERO chance of getting even knocked down in this fight.
Floyd will win by Tko, Connor won't have the stamina and ring generalship to survive for 12rds.Floyd will break him down to the body at first and get him tired, Then Connor lack of boxing experience will show and Floyd will step on the gas and put a nice whooping on him in 2 consecutive rounds and then the ref will stop the fight because Connor won't be able to defend himself
What's gonna be funny throughout the build up is you're gonna hear about Floyd sparring MMA guys and stopping them, and on the flip side we're gonna hear Connor sparring boxers and the boxers stopping Connor
He's also living off of a win over Porter while Spence has yet to face anyone close to porter's level.
Porter's level stop it,porter is c+at best all he does is crowd his punches, and hugs and mugs, run into you and makes it an ugly fight for his opponents that makes it a hard fight to judge which makes his fights seems close that's Porter's strategy basically
Kell Brook your own promoter doesn't think you can win this fight deep in his heart.Just listen closely to his interviews and comments remember he tried to talk you out of it,not because he thought you could win
Thurman’s getting a pass because of two overblown wins. Wins that are overblown because today’s boxing fans are belt crazy. And they overrate the quality of a win based on how entertaining the fight was.
Thurman-Porter was a very entertaining fight. But was it really that big a win for Keith? Not really. He arguably lost. And he was basically fighting Porter coming off a loss. Shawn wasn’t even competitive against Kell Brook. And a couple tune-up wins (yes, Broner was a tune-up) didn’t erase what happen against Brook.
And the Garcia win was more overblown than that. If you take away the belts, Thurman-Garcia was basically a top two or three welterweight fighting a fringe contender. Danny hasn’t done anything at welterweight. He arguably lost to Peterson in what was basically a fight between top jr welterweights fought at a 143 catchweight. He beat a washed up Malignaggi. And beat a shot to hell Guerrero for a vacant belt. And even thought Danny had a lot of credentials as the jr welterweight champ moving up. A lot of that momentum was lost when he arguably lost to Herrera.
At the end of the day, Thurman has been a solid top welterweight. But even today, he’s done nothing to warrant him getting a pass on trying to put off a Spence class. He’s basically a paper champion. One belt he won vacant. And the other he won from a guy that’s done nothing in the division. And his best win is arguably a loss. And that’s against a guy that was soundly beaten by the champion that Spence destroyed. Thurman needs Spence to legitimize himself. Not the other way around. And Thurman seems to believe the former.
You are 100%correct
I seriously doubt a guy that went toe to toe with GGG would be getting pummeled around the ring by Garcia. Kell Brook would be about 167 lbs on fight night against Garcia and he's bully him. The same with Lamont Peterson. We have weight classes for a reason. Garcia would be more successful with Peterson, but it would be a hard fight. And the same ways I'm saying this about Garcia, I don't think Spence would beat Danny Jacobs . Do you believe Spence beats Jacobs or Saunders?
In no way am I saying he will pummel Brook, but he is clearly the better boxer, I thinkhe could UD Brook
This just proves what i have been saying all along mma power is very overrated and mma chins are very weak.i truly believe if they let connor use his 4oz mma gloves, he still couldn't hurt floyd. Connor has absolutely no snap on his punches at all.
This fight will end in a majority draw decision and then they will rematch it, Porter wins rematch , then fights Thurman...winner faces Spence. Spence stops either man.Spence ko'sThurman. Porter's father stops the fight against Spence
I think people are trying to take a moral victory by Jacobs(cause he went the distance)into an actual victory. Kinda like with Floyd and Maidana "because he gave Floyd a tough fight he won".It was an extremely close fight with the knockdown being the difference
floyd just fought berto. berto is ranked 13 by boxrec. horn 14th and im sure berto was ranked much lower before his latest win over ortiz which boosted him after the floyd loss. oh wait berto is a name we know therefore its a good fight? both fights suck. they should retire but too much money to be stolen i mean made.
So criticize Porter for fighting Berto now,and for the record I'm picking Berto in that fight
Pacquiao's senate debates are more exciting than this crap. Bradley 3 times, Marquez 4 times, Algieri, Rios...now an Australian idiot flashing bills at Manny. Stay retired if this is the alternative! Arum is the sleaziest of the sleazy species of fight promoters. Mr. Arum, who exactly benefits from this Jeff Horn fight???????? Who exactly wants it?????? You have the greatest active boxer in the world that is prepared to fight anybody and the best you can offer is a Jeff Horn????????
Don't forget Joshua Clottey, Margarito for the 154 belt, when neither one could weigh over 150...smh,and he should have fought Rheem zahir instead of David Diaz I give Pac credit for exciting facts, but if you dig deep into his resume,it is overrated
To all you Wilder haters he's just doing what AJ did to Ruiz after their 1st fight... He made him honor the contract he put his signature on, plain and simple
