boxing is an entertainment sports.
Boxing already had enough coward and boring fighter in floyd. Rigo to add the burden, would kill the sports we love most.
Will the subscribers be entertained in Rigondeaux's next fight? How do we know they will or not?
If he can hype himself and beguiled fans to become his blind minions like floyd effectively does, perhaps he would sell his next fight.
face or pick
There's a whole lot of similarities of Mayweather and Silva, in looks, attitude, skills, talent, achievements etc.. Their distinct difference is only that, Silva has the confidence that he could beat any fighter he fights, while floyd only fights the fighter he's confident he could beat.
Should Silva ducked Weidman as floyd ducked Tzyu, Margarito, prime Mosley & Cotto, Pacquiao & other fighters in the long list, he's either yet 16-0 until now or 17-0 (if he chose a fighter he could easily beat) and would remain undefeated even through out his career. If only, like floyd, he masters the art of cherry picking.:chairshot
Well let me ask u this then, do u honestly think Floyd ruin hatton? And nobody is trying to discredit Floyd's skills, but lets be honest pac's win was just more impressive to the boxing fans and the casual fans that's why they went crazy over it. To really appreciate Floyd's style u have to understand the concept of boxing and to be honest most causal fans don't understand it or dont care about it when they pay for a fight they're expecting to see 2 guys duke it out which brings me back to why there was more talk about PACs win over hatton compare to Floyd.
OR, maybe...most fans are not inclined into Olympic boxing.
I honestly do feel Floyd ruined Hatton. Hatton was undefeated going into the fight with Floyd. Haters like Brian Kenny from ESPN had been lambasting Floyd for months and accusing him of ducking Hatton.
Mayweather beat Hatton to the ground and he was never the same after that fight.
Kostya Tsyzu arguably is a bigger puncher than Manny Pacquiao. He couldn't put a dent in Hatton's chin.
Yet after Mayweather KO's Hatton, he fights four more times after that (ko'd twice) and retires. The proof is there.
I do agree with you that to appreciate Floyd's style, you have to be a fan of the sweet science of boxing. You have to appreciate head movement, defense, jabs, subtlety, etc...
The average fan wants to see Toughman Competitions. Even the UFC has become to sophisticated for them.
Ok, you win! Now, what can you say about Cotto? Any thoughts?
Floyd Mayweather will once again participate in what promises to be one of the biggest and most financially lucrative fights in the sports’ history when he takes on Saul “Canelo” Alvarez on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV.
Mayweather along with Oscar De La Hoya hold the record for the most Pay Per View buys with their fight in 2007 having 2.45 million purchases. This fight with Alvarez assures to be on the same level and some even think it could break the record as Golden Boy has promised to have the fight accompanied with a stellar undercard.
Mayweather’s success as a household name goes hand in hand with his skill set which is regarded as the best in the sport. His defense along with his ring IQ, speed and fighting ability has led to an undefeated career thus far. Despite being considered the pound for pound best, there are still some who refuse to give him proper credit or respect according to Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe.

Just for the record...ODLH was unarguably the biggest draw when he fight floyd. While Canelo's latest outing against Trout was a total sell out. I'm just not sure about floyd's against guerrero. Was it really a disaster, financially?
With the facts I stated above, you might know who's the one wearing the pants comes September.:chairshot
Winner take all in a sport as honest as boxing. Wow!
Tellme about Bradley beating Pac again
Im actually doubting your entire post now
You really believe that the man who was badly beaten in most (if not each and every) rounds and walked his way out on a wheel chair wins he fight. Wow..you must be a very honest man that think that boxing is entirely an honest sports and the judges are without blemish. I mean..WOW!
It's all about objectivity. Look, I dislike LeBron James as much as the next man, but I would be a fool to deny the Kids greatness and that he is the best at this moment. To say Floyd isn't a "good" boxer is just nonsense. To say Floyd Mayweather is just a "runner" is just ridiculous. Runners don't land on the highest punch percentage in the history of the sport. Runners don't collect 26 Knockouts. Guy's that aren't good boxers don't limit their opponents landing percentage to the lowest in boxing history. That type of stuff does not happen if you are not an elite, complete and intelligent fighter. Whether you like it or not, or want to admit it because you personally despise the man, he is at the moment the best. I love brawlers and a high action bout. Fighters like Brandon Rios, Pacquiao, Matthyse, Miadana, etc. Blood and guts warriors. But is there no room in this sport for pure boxers like Mayweather, Ward, Rigo etc. There's no room for fighters like that? They have to be labeled runners? Cut it out lol, they're intelligent fighters.
What makes floyd "0" is his SCARED tactics.

"To put the show’s ratings in perspective, fewer viewers tuned into the free-TV show than the 2.4 million pay-per-view buys generated in his May 2007 win over Oscar de la Hoya."
But the million dollar questions are...who was the superstar for the 2.4 million buys? Who was the bigger draw?
Ok let's have some details on PPV before the two faced each other.
Here some facts:
Apr 12, 1997 Oscar De La Hoya vs. Pernell Whitaker 720,000
Sep 18, 1999 Oscar De La Hoya 1,400,000
Sep 14, 2002 Oscar De La Hoya vs. Fernando Vargas 935,000
Sep 13, 2003 Oscar De La Hoya vs. Shane Mosley 2 950,000
May 6, 2006 Oscar De La Hoya vs. Ricardo Mayorga 925,000
VS.
Jun 25, 2005 Floyd Mayweather vs. Arturo Gatti 365,000
Apr 8, 2006 Floyd Mayweather vs. Zab Judah 374,000
Nov 4, 2006 Floyd Mayweather vs. Carlos Baldomir 325,000
Using the 2.4 million buys against the Golden Boy to prove Mayweather's (high) rate in boxing is not only extremely biased, it's also...LAUGHABLE:rofl:
I now rest my case.
it would be a great fight. alvarez is getting better. this is a fight that can get alvarez ready to get whoopped by mayweather. gaining experience is always a plus. if alvarez can't deal with cotto's movement and boxing skills. mayweather will give him a complete boxing lesson ass whoopping style in front of the world
Not unless, Canelo agreed for a fixed fight in favor of your partially-handicapped idol who can't beat Peter Buckely and even cab drivers if without xylocaine numbing.
I think Floyd will fight PACMAN soon...
That won't happen unless Pacquiao agreed for a fixed fight in favor of floyd.
There are only two ways to make floyd fight: 1.) let him pick his cherries and, 2.) buy him some coconuts.
link pls?.........i'll wait ORRRRR MAYBE JUST MAYBE....floyd wanted the fight? just like he did a year ago to which canelo's team said no?
OOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR...You might want to know why Canelo pulled-out from Mayweather-Guerrero undercard and staged his own show at the Cowboys stadium? Where have you been all these days dude?
So if Canelo decides to fight Cotto before Mayweather, would that be considered "ducking"?!
If you would say "I'm the greatest", I'm my own man etc....and will not commit to fight somebody until that somebody agrees for a fixed fight in your favor for you to whine more of your fake legacy, then, that is ducking and that's for sure.
Wrong! Going by that, then if Mayweather was ROCKED by lighter hitting Corely and Mosley, Pac knocks Mayweather out.
You may want to include Zab Judah.
i bet your jealous sorry ass will watch the mayweather vs alvared fight. you can't help yourself
Like to most of the fans who bought the ticket, we'll watch for Canelo. BTW, just for the record. Mexicans watched Foyd-Guerrero just for Mares. Without Mares as undercard, we'll never know how many more seats for flies to roam around and what such a lonely place vegas has been that night.
Well you had a UFC fight, a boxing match on HBO.This wasn't the smartest scheduling.
If Mayweather is as great as he has been claiming, he would generate views even on dooms day.
Stop making excuses.
let him pick cherries or buy him some coconuts
Alvarez has a huge chance to beat lil floyd joy, unless this fight is fixed to save the latter's career from ultimately falling down the drain. Or, to keep Espinoza's head from rolling.
Can you please articulate why you believe Ginger "wears the pants" regarding negotiations with Team Mayweather.
Thank you.
What makes you think that I would do that? FYI, I disagree with 'check_hooks' as much I disagree with you. Nobody's "wearing pants" in this fight but SHO & GBP.
Schaefer says "the fans sort of like demanded Maidana"
So it was strange how Khan sort of like won the poll that Mayweather ran from his own website.
Do you think maybe that poll was sort of like rigged?
Not really..I just think that GBP and TMT are bunch of ass hats.
Winner take all in a sport as honest as boxing. Wow!

Apparently, it was Pacquiao's way of saying..STOP MAKING EXCUSES YOU COWARD BIATCH!!!!
overhype4floyd
Why just because he KOed the NOT juicing Peterson?
I don't mean to discredit the guy legitimacy, but I couldn't help myself but wonder, what are these OVER hypes all about?:nutkick:
