The legal advisor to three-division world champion Miguel Cotto (37-3, 30KOs), Gabriel "Gaby" Peñagarícano, says a fight with WBC/WBA junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (42-0-1, 30KOs) would be a huge event. If Canelo is unable to secure a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. for September 14th, Peñagarícano says the second biggest opportunity for the young Mexican is a fight with Cotto.

"Canelo and [Austin] Trout put 40,000 people [at the Alamodome] in San Antonio. And as I said before - a fight Miguel Cotto and Canelo Alvarez would be much more attractive. I am certainly sure it would attract more people. It would be like one of those events held years ago, [before many thousands] in a stadium. But Miguel has not indicated who he would like to return against. He is in no hurry [to make that decision]. Cotto is sitting in a good position at the moment. Everyone is talking about Canelo, but he's never been on pay-per-view," Peñagarícano told Carlos Narvaez.
