So he shouldn't fight the lineal champion, he should wait for somebody else to beat him first?
Yeah I'm sure there was no one else at the time he could of fought. Everyone wouldn't stop clamoring for a Baldomir mayweather showdown to prove who was the best
Threads pointless. Floyd wouldn't of fought Loma, would of chose an easier fight and claimed that Lomas not a big enough draw. Or that he won't do business with arum, right after saying anyone can get it.
You ever stop to think that maybe it was Baldomir who earned a shot at Floyd? I tend to recall Baldy beating Zab and Gatti and the boxing world stating he deserves Floyd next....but you go ahead and rewrite history to match your agenda, glad I know better
Best point you've made. But apparently your the only one that thought Baldomir had a chance at beating Floyd. I remember a few other fighters that earned shots at Floyd too that unfortunately didn't get it so fast
floyd would never fight him so what's the point of discussing it? seriously what is the point? it would be fantsasy even if they were both at 130 in their primes right now. what great southpaw did floyd fight and look amazing? he didn't fight casamayor, stevie johnston, or pac. that was convenient. when he did fight pac he looked garbage and pac landed the much cleaner punches, judah lit him up for 4 roudns, and corley lit him up in a struggle yet floyd's going to dominate how? loma already dominated gary russell who if anything fights closest to how floyd fought at 130 with blazing 2 handed attacks and quick movment. oh wait floyd beat guerrero and ortiz so nm floyd wins all day, easy work, take the test, 4 dollar flat offer no ppv, ducking, salido etc...
Exactly...I don't know why these dudes would think that Floyd would even consider this fight given his past fight choices
Name all the fighters at 130, 135, 140, 147, 154 who were faster than Floyd.....I'll wait
That Carlos Baldomir was like a bolt of lightning, brave of Floyd to step into the ring with that dude
Martinez ain't sh@t, please stop trying to fluff up that weak azz fighter
Not saying he's an ATG, but ur acting like hes some sort of pushover. Did you even see the martinez salido fights. How many people easily beat a 3 time champ in theyre 7th fight uummm...none.
The whole situation sux. I was really hoping canelo would end the trend of waiting out fighters. It looked like he was heading that way but now this. Avoiding the fight, surrendering the lineal MW title. The fight could still be made l guess, but I doubt it will be anytime soon. It's a shame, canelo had a chance to truly be great. If he took the fight and beat ggg it would erase the loss to floyd and stamp canelo as The bad a$$. In light of current events, I feel it's appropriate to mention, I don't think Ali would of surrendered that title. He didn't wait to fight Liston. He didn't avoid Foreman, who was KO'ing dudes like ggg is now. Either way the situation sux. GGG will still be avoided by the top guys, depriving us fans of seeing how good he really is. And canelo will continue to fight and most likely win easier fights, also not showing how good he can be.
Dude come on, canelo has definitely came in way heavier than 155. The media "drivel" about him ducking is canelos own fault, why the hell call ggg into the ring and make a big show of not being scarred and not f**cking around when he knew this was going to happen. I don't doubt canelo will move up to 160 but it will coincidentally be as ggg moves out of the division
Floyd clearly wanted nothing to do with Manny during his prime. He wouldn't even mention pacs name at one point. How many ridiculous excuses did Floyd come up with to not fight him? Did everyone forget. Some Bullshat "Olympic" style testing that was never done before, which Floyd would decide when testing would begin; worried about his health was another one. "I'll never do business with arum" was another; "he got a loss" was thrown around; not wanting to go 50-50 even tho Manny was a bigger name at the time; not enough ppv #'s...yeah sure.
Anybody that's says Floyd didn't wait for Manny to slow down is full crap
Like it or not he beat manny all 4 times...the last one was icing on the cake and he is gonna make sure they don't rob him again...good for Marquez! He already is living comfortable so why sell out?
That's not what the record says buddy. You like it or not Marquez was not active enough. Kept waiting for Pac. Only reason first fight was a draw was cuz some judge screwed up his score card
Man I used to be a big fan of Marquez, but towards the end of his career he's just been such a Bee-chh. Complaining about decisions, refusing to fight notable opponents. A 5th Pac fight just makes better sense for both. Great money and they always put on a good fight. Not to mention the huge amount of people that belive Marquez was juicing. After all the rematches Pac gave him you think Marquez would return the favor. Just a disappointment
