I don't care what peoples' opinions are concerning this, because no one really knows. The one thing I do know is that both fighters would've performed better in 09/10. Not the sparring match we got in 2015
I believe Pacquiao beats Mayweather in a prime-vs-prime match-up. I also believe Cotto would have beaten Mayweather as well. Heck, same goes for Margarito (with wraps, unfortunately) and Mosley. Basically any fighter that Floyd avoided, I believe he did so for a reason. He was consistently afraid of losing to the best. I'll admit it was a smart business move on his part to avoid fighting the best in their prime, but he won't be able to erase what happened just because he retired undefeated.
Yes, you can't have it both ways. If you go to the path of less resistance and fight a shadow of once prime self. You can win big in prize money, but not glory.
But if you beat a prime fighter. You win both prize and glory.
Sadly, Floyd took the cowardly road. You can't erase that fact.
I'm trying to think when was Pacquioa or Floyd at their prime. Either way Mayweather beats Pacquioa at any point of their careers. Mayweather was always been a fundamentally sound boxer. Even in his prime Pacquioa had flaws that made him vulnerable to technically superior boxers. Just think of Pacquioa/Morales I and each time he went up against Marquez. Pacquioa is a great fighter but Mayweather will always have the edge against him because he's just better.
Take any boxer and get them to fight an offencive fighter at the end of there career and they will always have the edge. I think manny would sweep the early rounds with Floyd with a very high chance of knockdown. Manny at his age still did some good damage AND counter punching in that fight and considering the size of mannys head is probably one of the least hit victims of Floyd. It would get more competitive towards the end but Floyd could only hope for a draw. I remember as soon as the fight had started I could see a massive difference between manny from 6 years ago. Not to mention theres more evidence that Floyd was doping than manny and add the possible injury manny had, people underestimate just how elusive and well manny did in that fight. Mannys speeds legit and that was the slowest version of manny this is why Floyd waited out 6 years. Just look at Jones vs hopkins or leonard duran. Prime jones and duran were way to much for them, maweather has exactly the same mentality as leonard when he chose to fight duran while he was over 200 pounds but mayweather took it once step further and waited for and out 6 years for an old pacman
I remember when floyd sr. N uncle Roger got shookeD after cotton fight.
Floyd talking about pac not natural n Jr shouldn't fight him.
Roger talking about magic potions that make you immune to bullets.
Them mayweather said talk stupid all the time... Hahahahaha!!
Floyd's own family sure thought that.

The version of PAC they thought was on PEDs beats floyd.
PAC is greater than Floyd, not only for this reason but cos he's 2 divisions smaller & 8 division titilist
No, i said he'd be landing his jab to the body, not throwing a jab to the body over and over again one after the other. he would be using it to keep pac at bay and to score clean punches, he would be throwing a lot of straight right hands and making pacquiao miss, but would be overwhelmed with pacquiao's speed and awkward angels
No, you didn't.
Your post is right there on Page 2. You didn't say any of that.
No, I know that.
This guy said Floyd would be jabbing to body, you know sustained punches to the body, not looking to set up his quick left hook or get a opening for his straight right................ just body shots.................. Floyd Mayweather doing that.

Floyd clearly wanted nothing to do with Manny during his prime. He wouldn't even mention pacs name at one point. How many ridiculous excuses did Floyd come up with to not fight him? Did everyone forget. Some Bullshat "Olympic" style testing that was never done before, which Floyd would decide when testing would begin; worried about his health was another one. "I'll never do business with arum" was another; "he got a loss" was thrown around; not wanting to go 50-50 even tho Manny was a bigger name at the time; not enough ppv #'s...yeah sure.
Anybody that's says Floyd didn't wait for Manny to slow down is full crap
