Watching lomachenko,,, he is a good fighter, but nowhere near great like some of you fanboys claim... Had he fought a 130 floyd he would have been smoked
Yeah exactly. In the case of Mayweather/Loma, I think Floyd has the style advantage and is just outright better.
yep
Loma is a very good fighter...Mayweather is an all time great.....its levels to this game
people look at boxing black and white...bad and good..if its not an outright domination then its a letdown..wtf
when world class fighters fight world class fighters, the fights get more competitive, even when one of the fighters is considered greats...styles make fights

Yeah Erik Morales "struggled" with Chavez also

he knows better, or he should.
Jesus chavez tried his damndest but he took a beating for it....closet classic.
Thats when the "he struggles with pressure" myth started.
The detractors were oblivious to the high punch landed %, his ability to fight inside and off the ropes, and the fact that he battered and stopped a fighter who was tough as nails.

Mayweather is clearly much bigger and stronger. But Lomachenko is clearly faster.
loma throws a lot of arm punches....watch them both at the same time throwing single shots and combos.....Loma is not quick enough to land the type of lead rights and leaping left hooks of mayweather at 130. Also mayweather had faster reflexes and gets hit less....that includes hand and foot speed...loma is not faster...he probably throws faster arm punches but when they are throwing real punches, its obvious floyd is faster

he is faster than Mayweather...when he was fighting as welterweight and higher lol
pass the dutchie, my friend. Mayweather is clearly the superior athlete

Of course I watched Floyd at 130, and he is slower than Loma. Especially on feet.

Go on, list the guys at 130 floyd "struggled" with. Im waiting

Loma is 28 years old.
Floyd won his first title when he was like 22.
When floyd was 28 years old, had 2 fights:
Unifying/winning the 147 lineal championship and beating DLH at 154.
So basically floyd was a 5 division champ at 28.
In any event, 22 year old floyd would soundly beat 28 year old Loma at 130.
Im just annoyed at the way people like to bend the accomplishments of guys with extensive amateur backgrounds. That was their decision to stay amateur longer and to turn pro at a later age. Most of the time they dont get as far, sometimes they do but ultimately taking out extra years from their prime usually holds back their pro legacy rather than help it.
1. It's only in the past couple of years that promotional opportunities opened up for some of these guys. The only game in town was Germany, low profile and money. So a lot of them never turned pro.
2. However many amateur fights, fighting this level of comp within 10 fights is super impressive, since like you said, it's not the same game, most of all 3 vs 12 rounds. That's why pretty much nobody does it.
If anybody thinks that Floyd smokes the greatest amateur fighter of all-time, a2-division champ in 7 fights, the man who holds the greatest footwork in boxing history......
F*cking clowns.
Floyd struggled with certain random bums at 130 but he beats Loma? Please.

Loma didn't look special against an out of shape Salido.
Castillo was Floyd's FIRST fight at 135.
Castillo is better than anybody on Loma's resume.
So what if it was his first? Floyd was an experienced professional boxer at that point. Salido was Lomachenko's 2nd professional fight, and 1st opponent that actually had a pulse.
LOL @ comparing a guy who's already retired. By the end of Gary Russell Jr.'s career, he'll have a better resume than Castillo.

Lmao... This dude got loma rated higher than ali and robinson..
Where was loma's great footwork when salido was crashing into him and loma held on for dear life for most of the fight
Lmao at my thread going this many pages..
So many funny posts on here... My favorite is "loma has the best footwork in the history of boxing". Like wtf.. Did these guys just start watching boxing a few months ago?

I can name you plenty of great gold medalist that have been smoked in the pros
Floyd could use a strategy just like the Pacquiao fight. Use his jab to keep the shorter southpaw on the outside and counter him on the way in with check hooks and right hands. Then all of those angles and footwork would be nullified by Floyd's own footwork.
That's just Money Mayweather. Pretty Boy Floyd has such an offensive variety. I think he'd target the hell out of Lomachenko's body. Mayweather had a deadly left hook to the body and combine that with the uppercut, he'd dominate Lomachenko.
