If Big Baby Miller, or Keith Thurman, or even Jeff Horn suggested they
Were contemplating self harm, I would agree that Fat Dan needs to show more professionalism. But Broner? Again? Time to stop crying wolf.
7-5 Vargas as well. Broner should have followed Hurd’s recent example of how to finish a fatigued opponent. Especially if he believes he delivered a beating.
The HBO broadcast was not acknowledging Sulecki's clean work while just acknowledging DJ's for the most part, Lederman's scorecards were also a joke. The fight was not a clear UD, it should've been a SD or a MD, 2 judges had it 116-111, another 117-111. 115-112 was the only reasonable score.
A split decision? Sulecki would had to have won 7 of the first 11 rounds. I thought your argument was that it was a close fight?
You had a problem with the HBO broadcast, the judges, and compubox. A clean trifecta sir.
one thing i hate about their commentary is that they will start talking about something between rounds and still be talking about it about a minute into the round when it starts, thus missing all the action. Showtime are definitely better in that regard.
Sky are a biased lot too here in the UK but they at least give a good blow by blow commentary through the fight consistently rather than just ramble about something other than the fight.
NFL broadcasts still have only two men in the broadcast booth correct? Why do both HBO and Showtime need a third man for boxing? On both networks all three freelance and provide “color commentary” with the supposed blow by blow narrator doing no such thing.
Bias wasn’t much of an issue last night. Yes, Jacobs is the house fighter. But he outpaced his quality opponent to a clear decision and then threw on an exclamation point in the twelfth. The sky wasn’t falling, DJ wasn’t exposed, the sports books will install Jacobs as a favorite over Charlo. Relax.
Show me where martinez was crippled???? He actually ran at cotto in round 6 or 7. I have torn cartalidge and acl surgery.
A example of a crippled was when yuri knee went out in the Cotto fight. He couldn't move at all after it went out. The whole knee thing with Martinez is a ****ing excuse. He got owned and everyone on this board before the fight saying Martinez would easily beat Cotto needed an excuse. His knee was fine. As it could be after his injury in the Chavez fight
Sports books and fans on this site didn’t have all the information. Sergio’s team clearly should not have made any fight. I bought the PPV, it felt like fraud even with all the red flags.
Speaking of Rogan, I guess all the Wilder fans could try horse dewormer to get Tyson Fury out of their heads. Tyson didn’t need a long count. He was bedrock after his knockdowns compared to the other guy.
Ah, so it’s not just about whether you beat someone for a belt. That’s called moving the goalposts, brother.
So by your logic, when the ref jumped in and stopped Brook who had won every round against Crawford up to that point, and didn’t let Brook throw back, we should just disregard that win. Right?
Do you need the old woman from Poltergeist to exorcise Crawford from your apartment so that you can get some sleep? Crowd fund it.
No sane person with at least fourteen brain cells saw Crawford-Spence as a 50/50 fight.
Crawford started fight week at -190 most places. Late in the week the odds tightened. Crawford was only -140 by the weigh in. People couldn’t see their way through the smear campaign against Crawford. The internet would have you believe mean machine knocked Bud down, that Porter was damaged goods when they met, that Crawford never wanted the Spence fight. Just one ridiculous lie after another. In a world without social media Crawford would have been a 3-1 favorite.
I see there some people on here who claim they know boxing who probably never been in a fight their entire life Spence is going beat Crawford and he’s going to look very good doing it…there are animals and then there are beast and Spence is a beast…just because a fighter can switch stances in a heart beat doesn’t make him a great fighter…Crawford could’ve made this fight a few years ago but chose to reup with scumbag bob to collect those big checks fighting in-house fights and now that river has dried up he needs a cash out fight because he’s pushing 35 and he’s going to have to do a mandatory if doesn’t do the fight that’s why he’s taking 35% which will still be a career high and still have an opportunity for a rematch if he wants
Thanks for trying the English language out. Let us know if you decide to stick with it.
Problem is Horn is going to need tremendous heart by the end of the opening round. I have seen no evidence that Jeff can even throw a punch much less land one. There is no path to victory for the hornet. Best case scenario... he picks himself off the canvas twice before succumbing and wins over just enough fans to make one more appearance on the ESPN app.
I don’t know if it will be two rounds or twelve, but team Horn better Google “Las Vegas hospitals”. They will probably take Jeffy to the Sunrise Children’s hospital over on Maryland Parkway.
It’s not social media.
Crawford got out jabbed by both Benavidez (on one leg) and Amir Khan.
Crawford had his eye damn near closed from jabs by the ghost of Kell Brook.
Crawford got two-pieced, wobbled and dropped by Kavaliauskas.
Crawford was getting touched up by Avanesyan.
Crawford dropped five rounds minimum to a tentative Shawn Porter.
The world saw a man who gets hit. That’s why the odds went the way they went.
Spence didn’t show up. Period. There’s simply no logical reason he should have been getting rocked off jabs from a former lightweight even if he did eventually lose. He wasn’t there on fight night. And Derrick James alluded to it.
Try watching the sport without an agenda. You will enjoy it more. Maybe, if you hadn’t come to believe your own Crawford propaganda, you wouldn’t be stuck with “simply no logical reason” why Spence was beaten like a rented mule.
Garcia would be in his element if fights were hammered out over social media. Instead his team agrees to a catch weight and rehydration clause behind closed doors and then he cries about it publicly. His team okays the location Ryan runs to social media to moan.
Canelo deciding to dance with the other Charlo sister hamstrings sales. Maybe the boxing world should start showing Alvarez less deference.
If it will be "totally different" then why are you against it?
What we should have seen, is a durable Errol Spence basically walking through punches even if he got outboxed. We didn't.
What we should have seen is Crawford's eye closing off of Errol's shots like we saw with Kell Brook. We didn't.
What we should have seen is Crawford dropping rounds like he did against a damaged Shawn Porter. We didn't.
We didn't see Errol Spence show up, period. That fight was less about Crawford's skill and more about Errol's clear decline.
What we don't know, is whether that decline was just about weight, or him making too much money, or him being over confident, or him being overtrained, or him being drained, or him having his water F'n spiked, etc etc etc. We don't know what we saw, we know what some of you thought you saw (Which was a skill gap).
There's no logical reason that fresh off of a car wreck, Errol Spence can basically dominate Danny Swift for eight rounds yet can't barely win one against Crawford when even David F'n Avanesyan was having success. Come on man.
Damaged Sean Porter, drained Gamboa, Crawford wobbled and dropped? None of this has ever happened on planet Earth. Delusion a decade in the making.
Floyd and Broner are Diamond and Silk of the boxing world.
Obama was crucified for defending a black professor arrested for entering his own home. Obama was crucified for saying a boy gunned down for wearing a hoodie on a trip to the gas station could have been his own son. Guess the president got a little trigger shy in his last years.
If we had a steady diet of meaningful matchups in this sport no one would have to fantasize about PFP nonsense.
Crawford handles himself inside the ropes better than anyone else on the planet. Outside of the ring fans are thirsty for the “showmanship” of McGregor and Broner and YouTubers.
Give him a 5 year sociak media ban and a 1 year ban from boxing. Hit him where it hurts.
I will even throw in a box of razor blades out of my own pocket.
Was Prescott a world champ at the time? Was Crawduck a champ at the time? Plenty of guys have taken fights on short notice, but noone is doing what Volkanovski is doing.
He may never had a catchweight fight and all the other things you said, but he did fight Spence 5 years too late when Spence was a slurring, shot, weight drained, walking zombie with a detached retina.
Volkanovski could be doing something exceptional within his sport. I don’t know who he is. I don’t follow his sport. If he is a remarkable talent I wish him the best of luck. To the point, in boxing plenty of OPPONENTS take fights on short notice, at new weight classes, after brutal stoppages. The “A” side doesn’t. The house fighter doesn’t make any concessions, receives all the advantages. So when Crawford says fighters need a seat at the table does he mean all fighters? I hope so. The sport will have to radically change. The bulk of fighters can’t just exist as fodder for the names. Like other posters have said there needs to be revenue sharing, pensions, disability funds, flatter pay structure. The superstars better expect to see smaller purses. If we are inviting everyone to the table.
And c’mon. If Spence was a cripple why weren’t the betting odds stratified? If we go down rabbit holes, Kell Brook was clearly weight drained vs Spence. Fading as the fight went on, gasping for air on his bench stool, stomach ballooning with every deep breath while Errol was cool as a cucumber in his corner. Brook shouldn’t have let himself go between fights but his only losses were to Golovkin, Spence, and Bud. Wish I could say the only times I came up short were to a trio like that! On July 29th Spence would have flattened any welter not named Crawford. They covered all of this at the kickoff presser. Crawford’ s version of reality came true. Pretty much verbatim.
They need to start quarantining these fighters before big bouts.
This isn’t a big bout. No sports book, online or otherwise, offers competitive odds. Behind the ESPN app paywall hardly anyone will see the fight.
Crawduck was the reason the Spence fight didn't happen 5 years ago, Crawduck is the reason he stayed with Top Rank and the reason no significant fights ever happened. Divas like him, protecting that "0" are the reason Showtime boxing is closing up shop. And now he thinks he can tell Oscar how to run the business?
Doesn't matter what he says, he's on the wrong side of 30 and only wants to cash out, he never took any risks, fooled people with the "eyeball test" and is looking for that retirement lotto ticket.
edit.
Add to that, Divas like Crawduck are the reason Showtime and HBO tanked, look at the UFC card this weekend, you think a diva like Crawduck would step in on 2 weeks notice and fight the champ at a higher weight class like Volkanovski is doing? Same thing with Usman jumping in at a weeks notice and fighting the champ in what could've easily been a main event fight. I love boxing, but damn, UFC is kicking their asses with the cards and fighters attitudes.

FIghting a bigger man on ten days notice is literally how Bud jump started his dominance in the sport. What other fighter has done something similar? Never missed weight. Never fought at a catch weight. No hydration clause. But keep calling him Crawduck Trumper.
