i voted for a margarito stoppage, i agree with the above poster probably late on round 9 + i reckon, gonna be a good fight though looking forward to it!
Scenario: You're hanging out with the guys at a bar, and a group of bikers start trouble when u step outside. Which group of fighters would u rather have by your side to throw down with?
the first lot Pac Cotto etc
i voted for WBO , all though if it were up to me we would go back to one governing/sactioning body, and if if not at the very least two, prob for me the IBF seem to have most credibility, and although the IBO gets some stick at least there rankings are done by computer/stats and are non biased.
WBO is the "weakest" of the alphabets in my opinion.
I dislike the WBA for its super, regular, interim, emeritus, "in recess" champions.
I definately agree with you, the WBA really do make things complicated with there differant champs, its really stupid and does nothing for the sport the only thing it does is to line there pockets with sanctioning fees.
I am a big Froch Fan but i voted that he would lose to both, obviously i would love him to fight and beat the best but i dont see it there are flaws in his game such as his defense.
just being realistic , i do hope the Taylor fight happens and the cobra beats him but my head overrules my heart in this case.
Glenn Johnson number 1 for me , think Woods will beat him this time if there rubber match is deefinately on for later in the year.
Btw the first Johnson Woods fight scoring was a disgrace.
Already benn mentioned but Benn and Eubank really hate eachover!
Any one (in the Uk) remember that programme a couple of years ago where they were both trained to fight each over as gladiators , Benn was so up for that he wanted to break Eubank! he was goin nuts , brilliant programme , cant remember what it was called gladiator school or some thing like that.
I wouldn't see the need of going back to just the traditional divisions , keep what we've got now but just have one champion per weight class.
better training for judges and make them more accountable for shambolic decisions they some times make,ie suspend them etc.
Continue the good work on medical issues MRI scans and plenty of doctors at ring side etc , I think this has been getting better over the past decade or so ,but no excuse to let the standards slip and im sure there are places in the world with out the strict codes of say for example Nevada or Britain.
Im a Eubank fan , and Im sure that in his Autobiography , (which I cant find at the moment ) he says when talking of RJJR that he prefered to be a big fish in a small pond or words to that effect, and you can't blame him in some respects his contract with Sky Tv was F*ckin huge why risk it with a loss to Jones when he could get payed the big bucks (I believe that at some point he was the highest payed fighter outside the HW division)
As it is I think if Jones had have fought Eubank or Benn his career may not have been what we know it to be , as I think Eubank would have beat him(just) and Benn , although may not have won against Jones he would have given him some serious punishment.
*If I can dig out the Eubank Autobiography I will confirm , I am going on memory and it is 2AM !
Froch has always ran his mouth, I remember a few years ago when he said in the national papers something along the lines of David Beckham isnt fit to carry my shopping bags! it was quite bizzare as rants go.
Froch is the only big fighter ive ever seen live , as he is is from just down the road in Nottingham, and I do like and rate him, although he has obvious flaws ie he seems to sometimes telegraph his power punches and he seems quite open at times, not so great defensively,he is very strong with a good deal of power and i would say for definate after the Pascal fight a good chin.
Im probably as big a Froch fan as any on here being quite local to him,and having attended several of his fights, but I honestly couldnt see him beating Taylor or Kessler for that matter, and lets be honest i think Carl needs Taylor way more than Taylor needs Carl, in order for him to break America,There are bigger fights for Taylor out there.
Taylor should fight Froch, Kessler should fight Bute, and then the winners should fight each other. If HBO really wanted the best fights, as they claim they do, that's what they would be pushing for.
I agree that this is the most logical thing to do 100%, would win favour with the fans and would assure a dominant succsesor to Calzaghe at super middle weight.
Do you think Skelton has a better chance at Valuev?
I think Skeltons lean on em and maul em style would be nullified by valuevs sheer size.
I think that a mentally right Williams stands more of a chance ,that is of course if he can beat Skelton again on saturday night which I think he will again by narrow decision.
Just my opinion.
u will also see kessler lose
Hi every one just signed up.
I think Calzaghe would beat Kessler ,
Does everybody think that he will stay at super middle or will he move up to light heavy maybe to fight a Glen Johnson or a Clinton Woods , having said that I suppose there is a lack of "big" opponents at 175 lbs.
Sadly I think Joes plans for 4 more fights maybe curtailed by further niggling injuries , lets hope not hes a genius only now getting the recognition/oppourtunities he deserves.
