nice!!!!
do you know what promotional company he signed with???
hes signed with Cotto promotions but he has Golden Boy as his co-promoter... he'll get the exposure he needs eventually...
i love how people keep repeating that PR doesn't produce "great" boxers, only good boxers... how can you say that when wilfred benitez for example is the youngest boxer in the HISTORY of boxing to win a world title - at the age of 17 (and he did it by beating a current hall of famer) and is also the youngest 3 division champ at 21! that's not a "great fighter"???
what about wilfredo gomez? he won all his first 32 fights ALL by KO, 17 of these victories in defense of his title! that's not great??
what about when PR held 3 of the 4 major world titles at welterweight? when quintana, cintron, and cotto were all champions? they may not be great fighters individually, but it's an amazing accomplishment that other countries can't say they've done the same...
PR is great. anyone that doesn't agree either doesn't want to admit it or isn't looking at the right facts/completely misinformed. :boxing:
And what bout mexico which at the momment has 3 unified champs. And what bout salvador sanchez who owned your great champ and defeated 3 hall of famers. And what bout mexico controling all the lighter weights.
im not arguing at all with you on the fact that mexico is a great boxing nation. they are ONE of the best. the argument can be made on both sides that Mexico is better than Puerto Rico, and vice versa. I agree with you on the fact that Salvador Sanchez was a great fighter! But was Gomez not a great fighter because of his accomplishments as well? I'm not trying to start a war with anyone, I'm just simply stating facts along with my opinions. I don't think it's wrong of me/ignorant to say that PR is also one of the greatest (and arguably, the greatest) boxing nation around...
sorry just saw someone else posted this... does anyone have a video showing the entire press conference? the videos posted so far just show cottos part, i was hoping to have mayorgas part too.
on the real they should've booted chris brown off the stage and put in mariah carey since she was in the crowd... at least we all know she can actually sing live!!
cotto looks like a beast in these pics... im wondering whats gonna happen after he beats foreman (this is just me being confident that cotto should win)... drop back down to 147 and fight the winner of may mosley (if pac doesnt fight them)? or tough it out at 154 and get some big fights there? either way im pretty pumped to see what happens!!! WARRR COTTO!!!
ive actually been trying to look for some videos of him training but ive only been able to find like a short less than 10 second clip of him hitting the mitts with steward during their first few days together in PR... i hope someone posts videos of him training soon im looking forward to see if any obvious changes have been made to his training!!!
he may not look as ripped as he was at 147 but cotto would come in at almost 160 on fight night and didn't look fat... plus making weight at 154 will be easy in comparison to making it at 147 so he'll be able to focus more on the boxing aspects of his game rather than focusing on making weight... let's see what happens!
It's gotta b tough after a couple rough losses and the passing of his pops
yea cotto has had a crazy last couple years... he seems like he's a pretty tough guy mentally so i'm just interested in seeing how he looks on this comeback fight...
Thanks for pics
no prob bro... hope everyone watches this fight... i think steward was a change that should've happened long ago but i can't wait to see what progress has been made so far by cotto!!!
warrrr cotto for sure! i can't wait to see the beast come out of cotto again!!! he said in an article that he had found his love for boxing again so let's see if it's apparent when he gets back in the ring!!!
p.p.s.
anyone seen that dumb movie "Fighting" with channing tatum or whatever the **** that homo's name is? I caught a few minutes of it today and I'm pretty sure his first opponent in the underground fight club was Yuri Foreman
hahahahahaha... holy sh*t you're right!!! no doubt it looks like foreman the first guy he fought... btw that movie was sh*t... the fighting and the acting was horrible...
cotto said in an article a couple weeks ago that he had to find his love for boxing again and that he found it during this training camp. let's see if it becomes apparent during the fight June 5th!!! warrrr....
Watch Cotto's body for the Urkal fight and you will get a sneak peak on how he will look vs Foreman.

For some reason he looked real soft in that fight and it was only his second at 147.
i think cotto might be filled in a bit more this time around at 154 since hes a bit older and his body has matured a bit more... but he'll probably look pretty stocky as it isn't his ideal fighting weight but let's see what happens fight night... i'm sure his S&C coach phil landman has done his job during training camp...
i understand the concept about taking the tests after the fight but... if pac is "on steroids", how fair is that to let pac in the ring with mayweather only to find out after the beating that mayweather could theoretically take from pac because of the unfair advantage, just to find out AFTER the fight that pac cheated. it could ruin a fighters career... they need to have more definitive blood tests pre and post fight in order to have the highest chance of catching any dopers before the fight if possible.
Manny Steward is not the trainer for Cotto. When looking at most of Manny's fighters, the common problem between all of his fighters was stamina and getting gassed towards the end of the fight (examples: Tommy Hearns, Wlad Klitschko (at least while he was with Manny), and Kermit Cintron (who has gotten better with this problem since switching to Ronnie Shields)). Cotto has a little bit of problems with finishing strong (since he sometimes gets tired towards the end of fights) so Manny wouldn't be his best option. I think Cotto should go with Joe Goosen (Chico Corralles' former trainer) or Ronnie Shields. My first choice would be Freddie Roach but since the Pacquiao fight is pending, Roach would stick with his current fighter and it would not happen anyways. GOOSEN or SHIELDS.
When the Ring magazine was publicly owned, it was more credible and accurate as to who the Top Ten fighters were P4P, but ever since DLH bought out the magazine, the Top Ten are skewed and many boxing analysts don't go too much off the Ring P4P, even though technically it is the "official" P4P rankings. So in a way The Ring is what you should go off of in terms of P4P rankings, but it may not be entirely accurate. Hope this helps!
cotto cant afford to do a mayweather... roach said that in the contract, for every pound that cotto goes over the 145 limit, he will be charged 1 million... if he ways anywhere more than 147, then roach said that the fight would be cancelled... cotto cant afford to not make weight and i dont think hell have a problem making it...
i cant seem to find a decent pic anywhere but i remember margaritos haircut against mosley was absolutely RIDICULOUS!!! if anyone finds it please post!!! hahha
