fine. but i aint tryin to date floyd, im tryin to see him win fights, which isnt hard to watch, cuz he wins them all.
personality? hatton KOs mayweather inside a round. so what? this is boxing, not love connection. sorry boss, but your point is irrelevant...
it's not irrelevant when it's my thread and i'm asking who will remember floyd or sit down and watch his fights when their old and grey
so what if he wins all his fights and retires? will people regard him as one the greatest....i dont think so.....they'll say he was a great boxer but he didnt have any heart
where as hatton wont go down as a great either but at least people will smile and have a glint in their eye when they remember his fights
i'm not trying to date either of them. i've got my eye on a heavyweight, not telling you who though cos i saw him first
He tries not to
i remember, i paid good money and stayed up til 4am uk time to watch it.
im just saying that maybe floyd is too good at what he does and because of that he's boring.
that's why in his home town the majority of the crowd wanted the english guy to win
i cant really knock floyd cos it's his life and he can choose to box how he wants. but he's in the entertainment business, as much as he tries to convince everyone he's in the money business he's not.
all forms of sport are entertainment, that's why no one remembers the boring sucessfull one's rather than the heart on the sleeve champions.
if a nuclear war breaks out and you have to move into your underground bunker for 5 years, there's only room left for one boxing career dvd, would anyone seriously take floyds in? apart from floyd himself??
it is seriously hilarious that this is an actual real excuse. coudlnt find anything else to rag on floyd, so the ref won the excuse award and is now being blamed for hatton getting knocked out by floyd.:pat: :lame:
the reason hatton lost is because a more skillfull and clever boxer ko'd him.
simple as that, but floyd is still an asshole and ricky as a man is worth ten floyds.
I will never understand how people talk about blood like they do... Big deal that person is related to you by blood but if there a scum bag then there a scum bag. My mother is a drug addict addicted to pain killers, one day I just got fed up with her bullshit and said adios! I havn't talked to her in a year and a half. It's sad because she's my mother but i didn't make he into a drug addict. Just cause shes blood doesn't mean im going to stick around and but up with shit.
i dont know the full story of your relationship with your ma but would she walk out on you if it was you that had the drug problems??
my brother is doing life for murdering two men in a nightclub, he had mental problems through no fault of his own, his family all stood by him and now he's turned his life around and just had his first book published.
maybe you should give your ma a call and invite her around yours for christmas, it could trigger something in her brain to give up the drugs and fight to be part of a family. we all need support at some point in our lives, i imagine your ma was there for you when you was young, put food on the table and a shirt on your back. time to man up and return the favour.
remember.....take care of yourselves......and eachother....goodnight !!
I always hated Chris "simply the best" Eubank and he'd come into Tina Turners simply the best song....lame !!! considering he was no where the best made it worse.
a nickname has to fit in with the style of fighter and not just their name, if your nickname is hitman or dynamite but you dont carry any power then thats pointless.
It's good to have something thats about where your from too, like bronx bull or motor city cobra.
i'd like to see someone have something like "feather fists" or "glass jaw"...maybe even Floyd "the cunt" mayweather
i'm going on best fight i've seen live, as in at the fight.
Eubank - Watson 2, sad ending like the MCLELLAND Benn fight.
Eubank gets floored late in the 11th after a war and gets up to unleash an awesome uppercut to floor Watson with the next punch. Boxing at it's best !!
Watson gets carried back to corner and stumbles out for the 12th but shouldnt have been allowed, Eubank finishes it quickly.
I love that fight cos i was there, it was at my favourite football teams ground and i was in my usual seat. Eubank wore my teams football shorts cos Watson always wore Arsenal shorts, our rivals.
Half the crowd were Arsenal fans cheering on Watson and the other half were Tottenham fans cheering on Eubank.
It was football and boxing rolled into one great night.
funny i was at the Nunn - Little fight as well and what i saw was someone who thought he was entitled to win rather than earn it. I stopped him on the way out of the ring for an autograph and he just looked at me like i was a piece of sh1t. So i made my way over to Michael Watson who was being wheeled out of the arena by his mum and managed to get to speak to him.
So when i look back at Nunn's career i dont think of what could have been or what should have been, i think he's ended up where he deserves, in prison.
i bet he walks around D-Wing thinking he owns the place, talking about how great he was and how James Toney got lucky. Where as Michael Watson spends most of his life in a wheel chair talking about how he was greatfull for what he had and has still got. He bears no grudge against Eubank and doesnt dwell on the past.
Strangly, Naseem Hamed was at that fight, he was a cocky teenager in the crowd telling everyone "i'm gonna be a legend".....perhaps him and Michael Nunn became penpals when both inside and they wrote about regaining the titles they lost and how hard done by they are.
sorry if your offended as you sound a bit of a "NunnHugger" but their a pair of losers.
if you are sad like me and like to go ringside after the fights, did you have a happier experience? Eubank had about 500 pre-signed photo's he was handing out, i think he had about 480 left at the end of the night !!
from the dictionary:-
–verb (used without object) - WOBBLE -
1. to incline to one side and to the other alternately, as a wheel, top, or other rotating body when not properly balanced.
2. to move unsteadily from side to side: The table wobbled on its uneven legs.
3. to show unsteadiness; tremble; quaver: His voice wobbled.
4. to vacillate; waver.
–verb (used with object) 5. to cause to wobble.
–noun 6. a wobbling movement.
Tyson was wobbled in the true sense of the word, but if Big George Foreman was hopping up and down on one leg and he was pushed by Screech from saved by the bell then big george would have wobbled.
Bruno didnt hit tyson whilst steady on his legs and make him wobble from being hurt.
So in boxing terms Bruno never wobbled Tyson. The first person to wobble Tyson would be James Buster Douglas, who would then be the first of many.
Who knows, Klitchsko might get ko'd again by the time Evander catches up with him. I think to win all four he'd have to go through both Klitschko's.
He's got it in him to win 1, maybe 2 if he picks his fights right.
Personally i hope he hangs up his gloves after beating Ibragimov before someone does him damage for life. The division is poor at present and if Lennox wanted to he could come back and win a belt, but there are a few decent fighters out the that could seriously hurt Evander as he doesnt know when to stop. Too much heart maybe?
Kirkland Laing !! didnt he beat Duran early 80's?
never did much after that, apparently he's now a bum drug addict living in a council flat in Hackney, London.
The thing is with people like Laing, Tyson, Nunn, Hamed and Judah. I have no simpathy for them. I know boxers can get ripped off by promoters and quite a few are uneducated but at the end of the day they had their chance and blew it. You could argue some of them took their chances but not with both hands. That's why Nunn is serving a 25yr prison sentance, Tyson who earned millions is broke, Laing is a junkie, Hamed just got out of jail and we'll see what the future holds for Judah.
Riddick Bowe is another. Used to really like that guy until he let himself down. What a waster !!
Before the fight it's "God tells my i'm going to win"
after a win it's "i'd like to thank god" or if your Mayweather "i'd like to thank me"
after a loss it's "god says it's my destiny to win all four belts so i'll be back" but he lied to you once evander, cant you get the message.....God is fuc#ing with you !!
religion is all well and good but when you become deluded by it then that can be dangerous as we see with what goes on in the world.
It puts all Wiley Hyena's other posts into context now.
Like, Jefferies no1 heavy all time and John.L.Sullivan in top ten heavies all time. Foreman ahead of Lennox Lewis when apparently Big George couldnt have beat Mayweather?
complete and utter munter !!
why do all boxing games make you start off with crap stats.
you should be able to build yourself before turning pro and then if you have awesome power be ko'in the hell out of people as you move up the rankings.
like tyson did in his career, things like speed and power should pretty much stay the same maybe move up slightly and then your acuracy and your movement should be the stats to build up as you gain experience.
i'm gonna write a strongly worded letter to EA sports !!
wrong!!!!
Clinton Woods or joe c would kill b-hop
Sergiy Dzinziruk would beat spinks but the agen mayweather would beat them both.
Joel Casamayor would beat Juan Díaz
also who is Castillo?????????????? for super fetherweight? if you mean José Luis Castillo he never has been rated at that weight hes lightweight.
it's MARTIN CASTILLO and i had him at SFL weight, everyone knows thats Super FLy not Super FLeather !!
as for Woods and Calzaghe beating Hopkins, Joe C might well beat him but as he's never fought there how can he be ranked above him ???? Woods has to beat him to be ranked above him imo, and imo that wont ever happen.
it was just a list of who's generally recognised as the real champ, regardless of who can beat who.
so it's not WRONG !!!! it's a fact. i'm not saying i agree that each one is the best at each weight but it's probably a good reference as to who would hold the belt if there was only one belt per weight available
I really can't remember a better time to be a boxing fan in Britain.
We have champions from Crusierweight down to super- featherweight.
Calzaghe, Haye, Witter, Rees, Maccrinelli, Arthur, Woods, with at least 3 of these being the undisputed best of their division.
The general thought of "boxing is dying" perhaps may be true in the states but not over here in europe and esspecially not in Britain.
which world champions do we have at middle, Lt middle, welter, light and super feather weights then?
we have two at Cruiser, Enzo and Haye (who is giving up his titles soon), Woods at LHeavy, Calzaghe at SMiddle, Witter and Rees at LWelter and thats it i think.
i agree that's british boxing is in great shape, maybe the best it's been for ages, but we dont have world champs from Cruiser down to SuperFeather.
Alex Arthur isnt world champion, although he might be soon as well as Amir Khan.
We also did really well in the World Amatuer Championships in Chicago last week. Frankie Gavin won gold and looks like he could be a star in the future.
YEAH... BECAUSE THERE'S NO RACISM IN BRITISH SPORTS. :ugh:
The footballers of color have not complained repeatedly about the overt racism they have experienced in England and throughout Europe.
they might complain or generally show disapointment at hearing monkey chants because it's a mindless juvanile act. which doesnt ever happen in england i might add, it's in spain, italy and the baltics who never have black players in their national teams.
but what that dont do is bring up race issues before anything has happened or play the race card to drum up support..... i.e donavan mcnabb
Lennox Lewis and Nigel Benn were just as much loved as calzaghe or hatton because over here we see passed the color of a man's skin
america has serious racial problems, it's always the first thing they comment on. like tiger woods for example, the most common question he got asked was is he half black half asian or half white. does it matter?
lewis hamilton is a british black driver who can win the F1 title this weekend but without seeing a picture of him you wouldnt know he was black from reading the stories of his races in the papers.
if you dont know anything about british sport and culture then dont bother making comments, people in britain couldnt care less about creed or color, to suggest they are as narrow minded as america shows you know very little and probably dont care. cos what goes on outside the states is not worth knowing
jesus h christ you americans are obsessed with race !!
i post a thread about mayweather fans acting strange lately and it turns into a jerry springer special.
i think it's time to draw a line under race issues now, it's 2007 and from what i can see everybody has equal rights
i'm glad there are a few people who have moved on and no longer live in the past but im surprised how many hav'nt
nothing wrong with being proud of your culture or nationality but behaving like it's still the 1930's isnt doing your race any favors !!
that goes for everyone, honkys, jigs, negro's, rednecks, milky's, nig'z, paky's, spics, coon's, wops, limeys, gingers, jocks, taff's, paddy's, wogs, frogs and them slanty eyed goouk fuckers from the east !!!
I wasn't going to reply to this, in the hope that it would be quickly buried, but everyone else has, so what the heck...
Britbulldog, put this shit in the Limey Lounge or summat, but don't pollute the real boxing area with this crap.
I'm from England, and mad proud to be, and love nothing more than a bit of Yank baiting, it's all good banter. But this shit don't belong here. Like I said, post it somewhere else like the Limey Lounge. It's plain boring and unoriginal anyway....
chill out !! i was just seeing how many floyd fans jump to the defence of hulk, hoff and arnie as they're all from the same circus.
mayweather looked well out of his depth.......superb !!
that's the real reason the yanks never want to fight in the UK, their all frightened of real men cos they "aint packin a piece"
i hope the fight is as good as the build up and Hatton dont get humiliated, mayweather is favourite but not as one sided as everyone thinks.
if anyone out there can beat floyd at the moment then it's hatton. i'd say it's 70/30 in floyds favour
I may be reaching at straws here..... but maybe it's because that country saved you from saying "Guten Tag, Mein Herr"
instead of "Good Morning , Sir".
that's more american spin, truth is hitler only invaded britain to stop us from helping the rest of europe. he said he had no intention of making it part of germany.
thanks for your help though, definitely helped us help the french.
nice avatar, although she old enough to be my mum, dame helen's nice for an old bird
I'm American, and I agree completely. Don't lump us all together man. There are some that see the ignorance that has evolved in this country. Most just ignore these idiots, but I have a great job and a lot of time to waste. So i do try to at least educate the ignorant masses. The problem is some people weren't meant for more than digging ditches. In America we have let those people have an opinion and it's biting us in the ass!
i know it's not all americans, like you said, just the one's who are meant for other things like digging ditches ...lol...that was the market a was trying to tap into. the one's that hang on every word from the likes of mayweather, tyson & vince mcmahon
we have the same problem over here, once they closed all the mines they had nothing left to do apart from prey on inocent children or rant on about how we won the war.
that's who we should have aimed our war on terror against, far more worrying than Al Qaeda
Dude..... he meant Africa u dummy....don't hate. :D :D LOL
GO HATTON!! Shut that mouth up!
i was half wishing hatton would have laid one on him in the press conference. would have been nice to see floyd take one on his big fat mouth and go down.
but if hatton swung and missed we'd never hear the end of it.
i dont mind trash talkin, it helps sell the fight but floyd takes it too far, when all is said and done after the fight he should give opponents respect win or lose, i think that is why he's so hated. to be fair he can back it up which why there are those that love him.
i'd be willing to chop off one of my fingers to guarentee a hatton win, only my little finger on my left hand though.
You talking all this shit but your country idolizes the SPICE GIRLS enough said. They did come to America but they didn't even get the standard 15 mins of fame over here. Hardly anybody here idolizes Bush.
why does he keep getting voted in? sounds a bit dodgy to me.
young girls idolized the spice girls, men of all ages just thought they were all sluts and worth a good fuck. i liked posh but since she hooked up with beckham she too skinny, must be all the crack she smokes.
anyway we've moved on from them, we're into girls aloud now. Cheryl Tweedy mmmmmmmm
google cheryl tweedy, pisses all over Britney or check out the limey lounge for some great pics
i know a few people who took a lot of money off the bookies when douglas beat tyson. If you followed Tyson's career and lifestyle it was a defeat just waiting to happen. Add to that Douglas just lost his him mum who he was really close to so he wouldnt have been scared by Tyson. So i beleive Hurricane.
My best prediction has to be Bruno to win a world title before he retires after he lost to Lewis. Put £20 on it at 25 to 1 down the bookies. Had to be WBA, WBC or IBF though.
I lost a lot on Tyson Spinks though, i bet my mate £50 and a month of buying the drinks Spinks would go the distance. Cant believe i did that !!!
he still calls him Michael "the drinks" Spinks
