"there's only one Mayweather"
"there's only one Mayweather"
"he runs away"
"cos he is gay"
"thats why he's bent over all the time"
safe to say pretty boy is the most skillfull at the art of sweet science, take nothing away from him, that's his style and he is awesome at it. you cant argue that he's not the no1 pound for pound either, the guy is quite a way ahead of everyone else
but that doesnt mean we have to like him, or pay to watch him. i'd rather pay four times as much to watch your Hattons or Pac-man's.
most knowledgable boxing fans knew hatton would lose but he gave it his all and was prepared to put his life on the line so they gave him a chance against floyd
there are a lot of bitter hatton fans crying and upset by floyds tactics and the ref not letting them fight because they wanted to see a war. floyd is far too clever for that and hatton himself admits he was outclassed
when all is said and done, and they've both retired more people will remember hatton than floyd. despite floyd going down in history as one of the best.
It's like tyson and lewis, tyson has more fans world wide and always will have but lewis was the more skillfull fighter and better boxer and would probably beat tyson 99/100
so hatton fans hold your hands up and admit the better boxer won fair and square, but the better man and real fighter is still the fans favourite.
I hope hatton doesnt stay at welter cos he's too small, there are two brits who are world champs at light welter and Amir Khan is maybe only a year away from a title shot.
As for Floyd, good luck to him, go and do the same to Cotto and Cintron and cement your place in the history books. i'll watch the re-runs cos i can apreciate his skill but i wont be staying up late and payin to watch it live
it's not irrelevant when it's my thread and i'm asking who will remember floyd or sit down and watch his fights when their old and grey
so what if he wins all his fights and retires? will people regard him as one the greatest....i dont think so.....they'll say he was a great boxer but he didnt have any heart
where as hatton wont go down as a great either but at least people will smile and have a glint in their eye when they remember his fights
i'm not trying to date either of them. i've got my eye on a heavyweight, not telling you who though cos i saw him first
floyd will be rememberd as one of the greatest. mayweathers name will be with the sport of boxing as long as it exists. sorry if u dont like that. hatton will be rememberd as a warrior with LOTS of heart, no doubt. but floyd will be remembered longer than hatton. it is what it is.
and dont worry i wont take ur heavyweights, not my type lol...

hatton is going to be remembered as one of the most overrated boxers of all time
I would rather be a warrior and a fighter, not a sprinter and a runner (read coward).
i rather be the best than some hype job.you could be a warrior all u want if your not smart then you will get beat up .i rather people intellegent and undefeated than a warrior with losses
when has Hatton EVER turned his back during a fight?
floyd was trying to get away from the grabbing and mauling from hatton there weren't any punches thrown until floyd went through the ropes.remember this is boxing not mma or wwe if someone is wrestling with you you do what you got to do to get away and turn the fight back into a boxing match instead of survivor series
fine. but i aint tryin to date floyd, im tryin to see him win fights, which isnt hard to watch, cuz he wins them all.
personality? hatton KOs mayweather inside a round. so what? this is boxing, not love connection. sorry boss, but your point is irrelevant...

He turned his back when he got knocked on the ring post by that left hook!

The only thing people are going to remember about this fight is Hatton getting knocked the fuck out and Mayweather remaining UNDEFEATED.
unless hatton comes back ofcourse and becomes a force at welter but that like a one in a million chance lmfao. Hatton should move back to lgiht welter too small.
Mayweather was the better man i hate to admit it but he was, proved me wrong. Kudos to Hatton for making the fight the most exciting mayweather fight in a while.
the reason hatton lost is because a more skillfull and clever boxer ko'd him.
simple as that, but floyd is still an asshole and ricky as a man is worth ten floyds.
i would rather be a boxer that knows how to box (floyd)than a boxer that can't box (hatton)

it is seriously hilarious that this is an actual real excuse. coudlnt find anything else to rag on floyd, so the ref won the excuse award and is now being blamed for hatton getting knocked out by floyd.:pat: :lame:

Hatton was worn down from the hits he received from the breaking up by the ref and from being forced to chase the fight after Floyd turned his back and ran to the ropes.
He's lucky there was a knockout because it covered up one of the most shambolic reffing performances in history.
ur an idiot. hatton did the same thing in every one of his fights!! but its ok when he does it but when it gets done to him its not ok? fuck you, you miserable bitter dumbass. pick another sport ass...

Look at the start of Round 7 or round 1/2 and you'll see all you need to know. One wants to fight, the other is gettin the fuck outta there.
Ricky may have wanted to fight before round 7. Ask him again after round 10. LOL
The ref CAUSED IT
floyd wasn't doin shit without the ref
Do the words "KNOCK OUT" not register in your mind. Failure to process and understand basic things is frequently a sign of something more serious.
Floyd did do some holding in the first three rounds. However, he still knocked Ricky Hatton out, which means all of the trash you spew is irrelevant. Ricky Hatton got knocked out.
Go hide with your foolish non-sense.
Yes, the ref knocked out Ricky Hatton..

lol, at the start of round 7 FLOYD DOES A FULL 360 SPRINT ROUND THE RINGHE DOESN'T WANT NONE
People STILL don't understand that there is a difference between MOVING and RUNNING. It's very simple.
If I throw a punch at you, and you counter and get out of the way before you hit me, it's moving. If you move around NON-STOP, without fail and NEVER stand your ground, then you're running.
The difference is that one is a smart/strategic thing to do and the other is out of fear. Mayweather actually predicted a knock out and happened to get it in here. I don't know if he feared him or not, regardless he did do what he said he would in this fight. So, I'd have to believe he had SOME confidence in himself and had a little less fear in him than a lot of Hatton supporters assumed he would.
Andre Dirrell is a runner. Floyd mayweather actually doesn't run much at all. He usually can fight inside and off the ropes. He'll shoulder roll in terms of getting away from the punches and will do some good body work. He only moves to get away from a punch and reset himself in terms of rhythm and being able to restart the flow of the fight. Keep it at his pace. Usually, he sees an opponent's punch coming and he slips it, by ducking under a shot, in Hattons case a lot of wider shots, and then goes in and does some body work.
It's funny how if Mayweather moves, he's afraid. But if Hatton hits and holds, he's a big strong man. I find that to be very odd.
I don't understand why fans of a alleged puncher get upset when an opponent of said puncher doesn't play into their guys advantages. Why the fuck would someone get angry over something like that?
Roberto Duran was the harder puncher/better slugger than Ray Leonard. So, he needed to rough him up He got in Rays head and he won the first fight by being able to do so. Ray lost before the fight even happened. In the rematch, Ray smartened up and frustrated his opponent so badly that he literally just said, forget it and gave up. Half the battle is before the fight even starts. The point is to have half the battle won before the first punch is thrown.
Why would someone assume you should "do the manly thing" and fight throwing NON STOP PUNCHES until someones head falls off? That would mean skill goes out the window and the biggest punchers would win every fight. Dumbest fucking thing I've ever heard of.
I can think of so many metaphors to explain how dumb that is in comparison with other dumb things, but it's just not worth it.
In closing, if you KO someone, and you're running..... Be thankful he did stay in the pocket and just knock Ricky Hattons head off.
B E Z.

then cortez must have one amazing left hook. so fast and powerful i didnt even see him throw it or see it land. WOW....
get a life.
